This is a GREAT Stress Reliever! The Cherokee Six Therapy.
I took out the Cherokee Six on a joy ride and ended up flying over my property. Flying has been a great stress reliver for me since I began flying. I normally have been flying out of Centennial airport in Denver metro Colorado where you must always be cautious of Class B airspace. But this time, I took off from Big Sandy Airport and flew around without having to worry about class Charlie, Delta, or Bravo airspaces. Buckle up and welcome onboard the Piper Cherokee Six.

    Another old video of yours I find informative 😅 Researching Dynon for a Seneca II I'm getting into. Funnily enough, the PA34 has the Dynon Autopilot approved for it..... but it's only 2-Axis 😢 The twin Seneca really needs a yaw damper. But the cost of a full panel is nearly $55,000 less than Garmin panels I've been quoted 😅 Thanks for the Dynon videos!

      Thanks for sharing your thoughts my friend 😀 I totally agree that a twin needs a yaw damper. I really never understood why Dynon worked on the PA34 before the PA32. But that aside, Dynon is one heck of a system.

      My pleasure. It has been a pretty good autopilot but not the best option for an IFR pilot. When I first bought mine the GFC 500 was not approved for the PA32 yet or I would have probably gone that route (Just something to consider). Not to mention, since TruTrak became Bendix my understanding is that the customer service has become unreliable. Overall, not a bad autopilot for the price. 😀

    • @Devyn6Seven
      @Devyn6Seven Місяць тому

      @@FlyingDirty Thanks for this too! My setup is dual Skyview HDX, D10A, IFD440, GMA345, iCom A220, and a remote transponder, etc. Dynon AP would've fit nicely, but AP is not a 'need' item for me at the moment. GFC is great, but for me to incorporate that (plus either a G5 or GI275) into my setup is $$$!

    • @FlyingDirty
      @FlyingDirty Місяць тому

      @@Devyn6Seven Yes, great point! The additional cost of the G5/GI275 does add up. Since you already have the HDX the TruTrak will communicate very well with it. I was also waiting for Dynon to approve the PA32s and they opted for the PA34 for some odd reason. I have a few buddies with the HDX autopilot and it is flawless! I think you'll be happy with the autopilot.

      Big Sandy is a pretty nice relaxing airport. I like that you can get in and out fast without having long waiting traffic like in Centennial 😀. Having the experience and being used to the Rockies I pretty much know what to anticipate when flying over the hills. Here you don't really want to try flying over the 14,000 foot peaks on a single engine. If you get a strong downdraft it can bring the airplane down fast and you could stall trying to get out of it. It can certainly be a bit scary if you are not used to it. Thanks buddy and glad you made it over to Big Sandy my friend 😀

    Hey Raul! Glad you found some time to bring us up to speed. Hope everyone is well. Thanks for the words of wisdom. As one of my favorite Captains told me more than thirty years ago: "control what you can control." I read a book recently that you may be interested in: Loving's Love - author Neal Loving. It's about a pilot that faced incredible challenges, designed his own aircraft, and was a part of a NASA study/development team. I was truly humbled by his story.

      Hello there my great friend. My pleasure and I totally agree! You can only "control what you can control". I will definitely look into that book my friend. Seems to be an interesting story my friend 😀

    Thanks for the flight! I can definitely understand what you're talking about. We all have our limits before frustration overwhelms us. What helped me, was I ditched all my social media besides UA-cam. No Facebook, no tiktok nothing. I avoid all news feeds and tv stations, they just anger the blood. I'm not "out of the loop". I know exactly what i need to know. The world is not how every individual wants it, which is fine, we should be able to get along anyways. Everything is politics, and it sickens me. You also need to limit the time with individuals or items that test your patience. Lifes short as it is, no reason to speed up death by raising your blood pressure. Bless you and all you care for! Be kind, and fly safe! Tim

      I totally concur with you about social media. I was never a social media guy and never had the tiks, insta and cancelled FB back around 2020 because of all the nonsense drama. The world is certainly about how you make it. Only you can be the author of your own story. Thanks for sharing and bless you as well my friend! 😀

    Your videos are great, I really enjoy them. I have the IFD 540 and Dynon system in my 182RG. You demonstrate things in a way that is easy to understand and remember. Thank you!
