  • Check us out "Navigating Nature's Fury in our Cherokee Six. Welcome to our Thunderstorm Escape! After takeoff I was looking at the radar watching several developing line of storms developing fast. I did not like what I saw and I managed to divert through the first one line of storms. But there was a larger one developing right in our path to our final destination of Higginsville, MO. I had to make quick decisions to keep the flight in safe conditions and to avoid putting us in harms way.

Great job. Decision making was spot on and approach to safety is textbook. Enjoyed that one and hopefully we can see the trip from your diversion airport to home. Stay safe my friend.

Thanks a lot for commenting and letting me know. Certainly, I plan on editing that next trip which was still very Inter in itself. I had to keep making critical changes for the sake of safety. Thank you very much 😀

Good ADM. As a sport pilot that is looking to upgrade to a high spped complex aircraft in 2025 when mosaic rules become law, your videos help me understand how to fly safe. Staying ahead of the aircraft at 200mph will be absolutely critical for me. Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts. The faster the airplane the quicker it requires a response. It’s an incredible difference between my Cherokee Six and my Turbo Saratoga. Having good sense ADM and staying ahead of the airplane are both essential for the safety of the flight. Take care and have a great day 😀

Thanks a bunch! It was pretty wild to see those storms blowing up fast. And just as fast I got out of their way 😀

Raul, great ADM, safety has to always be the number one priority. There's a saying you've probably heard regarding general aviation, "have time to spare, go by air" :) Always enjoy watching your flying vids. I've been on a motorcycle trip for the last two weeks, can't wait to hop back in my plane and knocking off the rust.

Thanks Buddy 😀 yes, I’ve certainly heard of that saying. One of my favorite is “there are old pilot’s and bold pilot’s but there are no old bold pilot’s 😀. Hope you enjoyed your motorcycle trip.

Our last few flights have been very slow moving systems makes dodging them a bit easier!

Great Raul! You will be flying a long time as long as you stay ahead of the weather and the airplane. you definitely made the right call. I'm sure you are looking forward to the day of not have to do that commute so often.

Hi buddy! Been flying now for a little over 25 years and it’s always a unique experience. Staying ahead of weather and the airplane is definitely critical. I was a little disappointed on the weather briefing on this flight. The storms were initially forecasted for later but they moved in fast and furious. The tools today are very convenient. So much better than when I first started flying in 1998 😃. I’m kinda looking forward to it but we know it’s only a matter of time. But I’m the kind of person that it’s also only a matter of time before I find a new adventure 😀. I’ll enjoy this transition for the moment. Thanks buddy!

You can always call on me. I am an aviation meteorologist who is now retired from the highest end airline in the world. I can’t do forecast for anyplace but Western Europe or North America but I think that covers all your flights. Plus I own a Piper Arrow so I know how you fly, just you have more nose area than I.

Thanks 😊 I like forecasting but sometimes Mother Nature puts a little twist. Sometimes it wants to play the game of dare. But I just let her win 😆

I like doing the same thing.
I play that game using my daughter, I tell her she doesn’t need a coat. Sometimes I’m wrong.

Hi, I enjoy following your channel from New Zealand. Do you fly miles per hour on your HDX and knots on the standby attitude indicator?

Thanks a lot. Yes, the POH on the 1966 Cherokee Six is written in MPH so I kept the main display configuration to reflect the manual.

Do you still have the Saratoga? I noticed your recent vids are back in your beautiful 6...

I do! Actually, the video before this one was in the Saratoga. Flew it up to 17k feet and it is incredible how it likes to fly up high. The next few videos will be when I flew the Cherokee Six to Colorado and back.
