After 3 weeks how do you feel about the pivot? My play experience has been that it's just generally smoother, and that the big pivoting things actually don't want to charge very often. Skimmers feel good now.

Hey, I'm a huge fan of your channel. I've been playing 40k for a few months and I have gotten fairly decent in the game, especially after watching some of your teaching videos. Your aggressive playstyles strongly resonates with my preferred style of play (I main Blood Angels), and out of the other excellent 40k teaching groups, I am seriously considering becoming a member because of it. Does being a member mean I could schedule games to play and learn (via TTS) with other more experienced members to further hone my skills in the game?

Been holding off getting into TTS, this video really helped show me it isn't difficult, great stuff!

All of what I say below is based on WTC. I massively agree with threat overload being critical. I was successfully playing lists based around 18 Bullgryn, 20-30 RRs, Straken-Nork Brick, Solar Melee brick, couple of Russes and lots of solo 10 man Catachan to either score/score deny or ensure I get first turn charge/neuter fights first. The Catachan being a screen ahead allowed me to base the threat overload in the turn I wanted to. If the opponent didn't move to deal with them then they were just throwing Primary VP at me (and Secondary VP since 8/16 of the secondaries could/had to be done on primaries), and then I could quickly smash into the opponents units. I basically built it as a counter to WE and it ended up working against pretty much everything. Whether it was elite melee such as WE or Custodes; fast MSU such as Eldar; Horde melee such as the post codex Orks; Shooty lists such as Tau and other Guard; Mass Monsters/Vehicles such as Knights/Ironstorm/Crusher; even Ctan or Wraith spam as I just killed the wraiths and out-OCd them. The only army it continuously struggled against was DG (due to -1T, -1to hit, 2+ indirect vehicles that were amazing against RRs, Grenades, FF etc😂). Pre Pariah, I was on 12-3 in tournament games, including finishing 1st in a 60 man tourney. Had even better results in competitive friendlies. The list was entirely built around threat overload. MMM order massively helped this. Very few armies could deal with it. I also agree not thinking about trading for points - with Scout and MMM, Catachan can completely deny non JP armies any reasonable movement and screen across the whole board to stop armies like WE getting the charge. By doing so I gain no 'points', but it puts me massively ahead in the game. Hiding really works with the Catachan too on NML obs against shooty armies. Opponents have to come and dig them out or I'll massively outscore them, and if they do my mass of melee units will rip them apart. I've now collected, but not played a DA army consisting of max Black Knights, max DWKs, max Scouts and an Azrael-Companion unit. With Stornlance strats making Black Knights unreal and the detachment rule making up for the DWKs lack of speed, it should function very similar to my melee guard style, but with tougher more lethal units with less numbers.

Astra militarum battleline are in a weird space because tanks are so cheap. 130pts for 20 gaurdsmen or 150 for a cheap LR.

The weird one to me is that it would appear World Eaters lists are overwhelmingly dropping Berzerkers in favor of 1, maybe 2, units of Jakhals for battleline and just going with the 2 versions of eightbound and chaos spawn for most of the army, often with forgefiends plugged in.

Do you think this shifts the needle for Eldar to include guardians?

Running two units of plaguebearers and a couple fast moving units. They seem to be able to do the job pretty well so far

What do you think about the number of units we need for actions? I am choosing between running 2x20 blobs + 2×10 of inf or 6x10.

As a blood angels player I have no issues taking assault marines.

After listening to the zoy'd/neurotyrant big able to use the BGNT rule I did some digging. ■Rules Commentary under Keyword seems to bar Infantry shooting: Some units can contain models that have different keywords. While this is the case, such a unit is considered to have all of the keywords of all of its models, and so is affected by any rule that applies to units with any of those keywords. Remember that attacks are made against units, not models. Example: An Attached unit contains a Leader model with the Psyker keyword. While that Leader is part of that unit, the entire unit is considered to have the Psyker keyword. If that unit is attacked by a weapon with the [ANTI-PSYKER 4+] ability, any unmodified Wound roll of 4+ made against that unit scores a Critical Wound, even if the attack itself is not allocated to that Leader model. ■ If a rule only applies to models with a specific keyword, then it instead only applies to models in such a unit that have the correct keyword. (This would be Big Guns Never Tire, the unit is considered a Monster Unit but the Infantry inside are not individually Monster keyword) there for just the neurotyrant could use this rule Luckly its a torrent weapon so no -1 penality.

Necrons are not OP... proceeds to demonstrate everything that makes Necrons OP. JK. They might not be OP but they are certainly playing a different game in which they have advantages the opponent does not have. Checkers pieces vs chess pieces.

As an Aeldari player I don't bother to trade up. I just try to kill whatever I'm going to have a problem with later. This generally means killing tanks. I then just delete whatever unit my opponent dropped on Primary while hunting down their Secondary scoring unit. It's not the player who killed the most that wins. It's the player with the most victory points. If my opponent doesn't score, I win.

Do you think its possible to do the Hiding options with units that cant move through walls, such as greater daemons and blood crushers? Some armies, such as daemons, have their hardest hitting units unable to move through walls. Is this viable still for them or too hard?

Squighog Boys x6 went up to 320 points. So he would have been killed even worse if this army was played today. I really want to play a Squig based army. But not sure how to make it work..

The "hiding strategy" is a game design flaw by GW. It is only possible because they messed up the core balancing. Great video anyhow!

The Yncarne doesn't have Deep Strike and it's teleport doesn't have a outside 9" restriction. It still can't be with 1" however.

one problem with surrounding a transport with 10 guys in a circle is that if ONE of your guys dies, 4 others die because you can't keep unit cohesion because two guys will be hanging and not be 2" from two allies. This kills one, then another, then another until you have five left since five only require one freindly for cohesion.

Move blocking? Is this something I'm too xenos to understand. Nearly every unit I have fly.

Awesome breakdown. I just wish I could explain as good as you do to my opponent during a game in a way that doesn't take me 20+ min to do so... I have honestly just quit bringing Fights first type units in general because it's so unknown/understood and the advantage vs time constraints has had me just using different units in general and I let them bring in their fights first units and then when I counter the enemy unit during their turn, it eats up their time reading the rules and not mine :D

I’m hoping i can now try hiding strategy againts Astra. Indirect pushed me to play BA like Worldeaters. 😂

great brakedown! Its definitly nice to have some tactical concepts for different situations. I think its easier to decide which concept to use when you look at the threat ranges. BA have a gigantic threat range thats why it is easy to hide/stage them and charge
