GW - We gave Valerian the deep strike they were meant to have.
We do, however, see that you have an interesting rules interaction that could make Auric Champions not completely worthless. So we're taking that away.

I admire your optimism regarding the upcoming dataslate for custodes. My prediction is that there will be zero changes for custodes in it.

Ork changes? Buffs for a good army. Custodes? Nerfs to a bottom tier army. Can't even get the fix, they already proven to need.
its not really buffs to be fair. GW is either kicking a puppy right now as far as custodes are concerned or they are prepping us for a big buff in the balance dataslate

Glad to see they finally fixed the Ghazghkull issue. That was one of the biggest rules clusterfucks (read: game company getting their own rules wrong) in recent gaming history.

The Auric Champions rule interact is our daisy chaining For The Greater Good. This was never going to be what the rule was intended and arguing it was always bad faith/bad for game health. We can wait for buffs like anyone else who has been put in this position.
i disagree with your take here, that was hardly the only ability in the game that gave easier deepstrike charges (kaldor draigo anyone) but cheers for sharing
I believe you can still use the Champion of the Imperium endhancment on a Knight Centura... They Have the Adeptus Custodes faction keyword.
I like to think that this was just fixing glitches and they will concentrate on balance at the next full pass - well fingers crossed!

if the gretchin rule says "at the start of the command phase" then you still dont get to do it if you go first on turn 1
correct, people did not understand that, which is why i assume GW changed it to start of movement phase

Yeah, the last one was only a month ago, and even then I'm expecting a "we need more data" excuse.

Custodes were not too strong. Hear me out. They were unfun to play against, hardly frustrating as a new player (I was told), far too easy to collect to make GW money and used the same "mental space" as their money cow and face of the IP-flagship, the space marines. From a business perspective, they had to be nerfed and made more unattractive.
I do not agree. GW has 2 codex teams, one is fluffy and incompetent, the other is a power gaming team, you can guess which one wrote the Custodex haha, that being said, im pretty confident they will be fixed soon
