I was dumb and missed the -1D strat does NOT WORK on titanic, sooooo its less my favorite now, still quite good on a Kanz squad though

its new rules, so its easy to get a few things wrong, and mix up old and new stuff.
The big hunt prey is importently, monsters/vehicle/warlord, character units is only if none of those are on the board. It potentially gives a problem against some armies I think

I've decided to do orks as my next army.
And as well as being crazy and psycho for orks gameplay, I want to be as competitive as possible against my enemies. Regularly playing against nids, space wolves, salamanders and votaan soon

i use to do really well and got GT wins using an 18 deffkoptas list in 9th ed when we had the armies of renown. keen to bust them out and try them again
i ran 6 in the index for a long time, and had lots of success with them, i am interested to put them on the table now!
11th edition will be here before I get enough orks painted to play a game with them. I hope the 11th edition keeps this codex or has one just as cool.
With the buy in for a codex and cards £50 I pretty much have to choose the two or three factions I will be playing each edition.
Re : Dread Mob, I put a list together with 2x Morkanauts, 3x10 Lootas each with a mek getting out of the morkanauts and a trukk, the meks can give the nauts the +1 to hit and from a test game the lootas put out helacious firepower. For only 10ppm I feel you want the full 30. Still have plenty of room for loads of kan and other spport pieces. thoughts?
no only the one squad with the ignore cover enhancement is useful
If im not mistaken about the dakkajet and mek thing for kult of speed, i did think about it.
The Dakkajet comes in during the end of movement phase, and the Mek gives +1 to hit at the end of movement as well. So i think its possible to simply drop a dakkajet next to the mek and then give it +1 to hit. Of course you should still land within rapid fire range.

i agree with your opinions about the green tide, that being said im taking them to a teams tournament and (hopefully) i can avoid the matchups where i have to kill rather than just do fixed secondaries every turn. They still seems strong, in 3 games ive not scored under 18. which i knows not a guarantee but im feeling confident.

I have no tourny exp and i prefer theme or success when playing friendly games. Have a dredd list involving 3 Mek Dreds, 3 Meks, Mekboy Workshop, x20 x10 x10 of grots, 8x grot tanks, 6 or more killa kans, 1 deff dredd w 4 kmb (meme not meta) filler being big mek and anything else i can adjust to fit. 2 of the dredds are 2nd dreadnaughts...all vehicles with long tail banners not like traditional Orks and grots hanging out of vehicles waving various flags as if commanding the assault.

i am only talking about competitive 40k here :) mek dreads and mekboy workshops, and grot tanks are no longer legal in matched play. Have a blast though man! Using the rules with those models would be super fun i am sure!
You cannot target mork/gorkanaut with extra gubbins since it excludes titanic units

In the green tide section when you are talking about the teleport move. Why would the enemy not be able to charge you after you are in engagement range?
they can? just not the unit that is already in engagement range
As a custodes player, I am simultaneously very happy that all of the detachments sound both fun and at least sort of effective, scared that my buddy ork player will never lose against me, and also envious of such a good codex

So relatively effective builds will be found in the custodes book eventually it just might be awhile. It seems like when custodes aren’t top 5-8 in army strength the faction is almost abandoned completely by most players which is unfortunate. Not that GW always tells the trust lol but pre release of 10th they said all factions would receive at least 6 detachments so maybe they’ll get a couple different ones in white dwarf mag or something.

What do you think of the Flash Gitz? No Badrukk for rerolls, but cheaper in points. I was thinking that two units of 5 could be ok, cleaning out screens or even in a Trukk with Mek hitting on 4 while doing drive-bys
hey check out the tier list we did this weekend for more info on them, but i like them, obviously not as much as i used to, but still, they are reasonable
Flash gitz should absolutely get the nobz keyword. That way they can get 1 cp full re-rolls along with access to all the different stratagems
I think you can run a horde shooting version of dreadmob. 6 units of grots, as many boys as you like, and then you can have w/e filler mechs n grot things. I don't think its a weak detachment.
why would you ever do this? Thats a very poor way to design it. I agree though, i dont think any detachment in the ork codex is weak. This is how i would rank them though

Why would moving the blob of boys into engagement stop him from moving anything else ?
you can string the unit to cover the entire field if its a 20 man, so it move blocks the whole army

Would a stratagem for Da Hunt that allows you to change your prey target been too powerful? Are there any limitations they could have put on it to make it more balanced, I.e. the stratagem only works at the end of YOUR shooting phase.
no, seeing as you pick your prey at the start of your turn not the battle round anyway

I don't think most meta armies have the capacity to dish out 120 shots at 5++/5+++ units of boyz... Green Tide has the opportunity to really shakeup the meta.
Of course, then we might run into an issue of "you tech against 120 boyz and get run over by ironstorm tanks, or you tech against ironstorm tanks and get run over by 120 boyz", which is somewhat reminiscent of the GSC-Knights meta we had earlier this edition. It'll certainly be interesting.
yeah its why they will likely see play in teams alot, but i doubt they will do too much in singles
Which detachment would you consider Orkperium leaning towards? I'm thinking Bully Boyz or War Horde.
what do you mean by this? An imperial guard proxy army? probably use dread mob rules

Also, could you weigh in on the problem of GW f**king up Ghaz's transport count? It is now even more unclear than before whether him and Makari are 18 together or 18+1
ahhh, haha, basically you just presented it. GW messed up the writing haha. Currently as is, Ghaz +makari is 19 slots. its stupid, but it is what it is. WTC has in their official FAQ they only take 18 slots

Don't units get -1 to desperate escape if battleshocked? Giving them a failed test on 1-4 if you use the strat?

@Happykrumpinwargaming007 So big gob can help with the battleshock. Very useful, pay 1 cp to have a 2/3rds of their unit die sounds like its worth the enhancement.
no, remember units un battle shock at the beginning of their command phase, so big gob would not help with that. Still yes Big Gob is an extremely good enhancement, it can block defensive strats and interrupts for example

hillariously they are not. They have the keywords; Grot, Vehicle, Mek Gunz. But they are suspiciously not a "Grots Vehicle"

so Mek Gunz having both kewords is referred to by Grots Vehicle!

buddy i think you misunderstand, mek gunz have the "grot" keyword, the "vehicle" keyword, but not the "grots vehicle" keyword. Its clearly an oversite, and i expect it to be errata'd but its missing the keyword, its not a pluralization issue
