While granting very good re-rolls, Abaddon is also somewhat tricky to use as he's incredibly squishy for 295 pts. He's exactly as defensive as 3 Terminators essentially and anyone that can move decently fast and slip past any vehicles/demon engines near him, is not that unlikely to take him out. If you're going for 3 vehicles to buff like that it's going to cost around 1000 points with Abaddon included to guard them, at which point there is a strong case to be made for playing Soulflayer Warppack instead, where you get the same re-roll plus more, for far less in points... It's also a principle thing. Abaddon should lead from the front, not hide behind a wall half the game. :-)

@@Happykrumpingwargaming007 true enough, but there is also something to say for designing units to work as described in the lore on the tabletop. :-) Abaddon is improved in terms of design with his new rules though, but if I could have had a hand in it, I'd reduce his cost, just let his re-rolls affect infantry, mounted and walkers and then made him a little bit tougher to kill instead. His damage potential wihtout the Mark of Slaanesh access is already way down, but I still feel they missed the mark a bit with him encouraging the same Abaddon castle. They did get halway there though.
I still realy like the solo weirdboys! Just teleporting all over the place and doing stuff.
I know they are overshadowed by solo snikrot now, but you can not stop me from running both kinds of all over the place agents!
Also shoutout to my poor mistreated Hivetyrant and Neurotyrant who make it into most lists, but have not a single good unit they can lead....
Solo weird boys always just kill themselves for me haha

Drukhari player here (yes I know, sweaty elf) I tend to run Urien solo with 2 squads of 2 Talos. Sort of same role as how you described the tech priest doing actions but still buffing hints and able to do actions.
:P oh interesting i have not seen Urien on the table, ill look into it!
for Votann there's the solo Einhyr Champion with Wayfarer's Grace.
I like running a solo Captain in Gravis armour. With either the Artificer Armour, the Honour vehement or the Flesh is weak enhancement.
Yeah he does a solid job of interupting pile ins, i find him a little expensive for that job though
The Allarus SC in Auric is not bad now, between the 4+ FNP Strat and their new "everything is 1 damage" ability they're fairly durable. If they don't get dealt with you can drop in some Termies for them to join and protect them further.

snikrot is fantastic, but as i said at the beginning of this video, this is hardly a comprehensive list. There are a TON of characters in this game
The last time I faced a solo Abaddon, Morvenn Vahl dumpstered him in a single shooting phase. Somehow I think he loves his bodyguard. 🤔
Also, the Missionary has been removed - he and the Preacher are being rolled into a new datasheet called Ministorum Priest, with unknown cost but probably closer to 40 because it carries the preacher's weapon loadouts.
i would recommend not exposing your expensive centerpiece to the nundams haha
Commander Farsight has lone potential. Even tho he gives crisis +1 to wound its almost always better to just take a regular commander with them for more volume of fire. While Farsight is self sufficient due to WS 2 and BS 2 doesnt need to be spotted for. Also he's fairly durable 2+ 4++ 8 wounds. Wants to be in melee wich crisis suits dont want to be in.

I tried solo mozrog at the weekend in bully boyz. Not a bad beatstick missile. Destroyed a landraider, tagged the allied rubric marines, slaughtered them and destroyed a forgefiend before being killed.
drop his points a bit and id be willing to give him a look again, but man he got nerfed soooooo hard
@Happykrumpingwargaming007 agreed on the nerf! I think he was underestimated, though, due to that.
A good target for rapid ingress while the opponant is dealing with nob killy goodness.
I tried to run jet bike cpts as objectives and a replacment for jet pack FW units. I found them to very vunerable , especialy with how tall the flying stand makes him . Very hard to hide him so sometimes because the lance makes him the size of a tank without the resiliance of a tank.
yeah.... custodes curse strikes again. hopefully in a day or so we see their triumphant return!

Ahriman on disk solo is also great
he has a nice mouvement and it makes him more agile than in rubrics to move 10" (he has fly and infantry) and cast spells with OPG one free. He lose the + 1 wound he gives as a a leader but he has good melee. His 4+ invuln, 6 w and potential reroll/blank save make him a bit durable
Tsons have several solid picks! The solo exalted sorcerer on disc as well!
Captain in Gravis Armour, in Ironstorm Spearhead with "The Flesh is Week". T6 6W 3+, 4++, 4+++, Halve damage.
What does he do with that?
Waddle his way up a flank recovering assets.

What do you think about solo BSB with Kinnin' but Bruital (for the case) occupying free space in a trukk. Just like one shot missile.

Einhyr Champion is another great option. 60 points(for now). 2+ and can 4++ and hits like a fucking truck. Can hold and screen a backfield or rapid ingress and slam something.

What's your thoughts on solo Mozrog ?
he would need to come down in points significantly, or get his 4+++ back. he took a MASSIVE hit in the codex
Warpsmith giving rerolls to hit?? How do you think this works? Am I missing something?
CSM Warspmith has access to granting full re-rolls via an enhancement in the soulforged warppack detachment. Much more cost-effective than Abaddon. :-)

im thinking of running a solo beastboss to take down some vehicles and chuck him in a swat team trukk with the one extra space to make it a super deadly trukk, what do u think?

No bad ideas here. Just seems a bit early with new points coming out. . Example "solo warboss 65 pts ? Highly unlikely. So that combo might run you 75-80pts . Non the less it's all good
people keep saying that, not sure though man, he was 65 through the entire index, never got touched, not sure why he would now
