Nerve hyrodissection of the fibular nerve with PRP is probably your the best non-surgical treatment option for foot drop after TKR (total knee replacement). Discseel uses fibrin to seal and heal degenerated discs. The fibrin is thick and hardens very quickly after the injection, thus preventing leakage. This is the only treatment that has been shown to seal and stimulate healing of the disc tears (annular tears). Stem cells are great, they help with degenerated discs, I do them as well, but they are not as effective at sealing torn discs (annular tears, leaky discs) as fibrin. Ankylosing spondylitis is an inflammatory condition of the spine. PRP can resolve chronic inflammation and provide long term back pain relief in some cases. Anytime a needle is inserted into the disc, there is a potential for some annulus damage. The good thing about the Discseel procedure is that the fibrin is injected into the needle hole right away, sealing the hole and allowing the disc to heal. This makes the annulogram unlikely to damage the disc (as long as it is performed at with Discseel). The success rate is good, better than surgery and steroid injections, we see is ~ 80% of patients get significant improvement with back pain and leg symptoms (sciatica, weakness, other). The fibrin seals the annulus after the injection, this allows the disc to heal any insult from the procedure, this is regardless of pain relief success. Discseel is used to treat damaged and degenerated (or bulging) discs. When the disc annulus is damaged, the disc becomes weak, adding to the instability of the lumbar segment. This can contribute to listhesis progression. @@sebastianklisiewiczintegra9805 thank you. I ask because so far , I've tried epidural and that did not do anything in terms of relief. A PRP was done around lumbar facet joint, interspinous ligaments and supraspinous ligaments. Nothing. I'm still doing the exercises from my PT. One specialist suggests as my last option for surgery. The 2nd specialist, suggests to do Cervical, Thoracic and Lumbar facet joint injections and if that doesn't work, PRP injections into the discs. I'm almost at wit ends with this and I'm just trying to figure out what procedure has the highest chance in providing healing relief.
