      I had prolotherapy in both my feet (on top) for painful arthritis 9 years ago and have had no pain or reccurance since then. Have also had it in my hip for bursitis (I have Fibromyalgis) and it gives me years of relief. It is magic stuff, shame it is not receommended and used more!

    I go for my MRI in a few days. Considering all options, which it seems, there is no shortage of. Wonder how insurance plays into helping .

      Prolotherapy or PRP is a great treatment for knee pain (knee arthritis, meniscus tear, ligaments sprain). Regenerative medicine treatments are not covered by insurance and are all out of pocket. We offer knee pain treatments with prolotherapy and PRP in Estero Clinic (Servicing Southwest Florida, Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Naples) - see our website for more information - integrativerehabmedicine.com/fort-myers-naples-regenerative-medicine-treatment

    I Love your videos! How long do you recommend your patients rest before returning to work if they have a physical job, after having prp to the shoulder to treat a labrum tear as well as the surrounding ligaments and tendons? Thanks in advance!

      Prolotherapy of the knee for knee pain, sprain and arthritis is quick and simple. Most people can return to regular activity within 1 week. When we treat in season athletes, they return to sports within 3-5 days. Out of season we would perform PRP of the knee and shoulder.

    What is the risk of getting footdrop if we inject prolotherapy + lignocaine mixture at the lateral ligament?

      Prolotherapy is a safe and effective treatment for knee pain, knee arthritis, meniscus injury and knee weakness/instability. Each injection set stimulates strengthening of the knee ligaments and joint structures. It typically takes 2-4 sessions for best prolotherapy outcomes to eliminate pain and improve knee function. Prolotherapy is a nonsurgical treatment for knee arthritis, knee pain, shoulder pain, back pain and many other joint, tendon and ligament injuries. Prolotherapy is specific technique of injecting dextrose (~ 15%) into joints and supporting ligaments and tendons. The dextrose causes a brief inflammatory response that mobilizes the fibroblasts and other immune cells to start a healing response. With multiple treatments, prolotherapy causes the ligaments to become stronger and provide joint stability as well as improved function and health.

    lidocaine 1% 1mg with dexamethasone 10 mg has been injected in my sacroiliac joint for pain relief, and I do have to take prolotherapy or PRP.
    1/ How long should I wait till doing the prolo or PRP so there is no cancellation of either one by the dexamethasone?
    2/ Are there any side effects for injecting 10 mg of dexamethasone?

    • @sebastianklisiewiczintegra9805
      @sebastianklisiewiczintegra9805  Рік тому

      Prolotherapy and PRP are a better option for knee pain and arthritis than steroids. Dexamethasone at 10 mg is equivalent to ~ 50mg of kenalog. This is a large dose of steroids and it can be toxic to the joint, especially if repeated. You should wait at least 1 month before prolotherapy or PRP.

    Hello Doc, have you ever had patients with Ehlers Danlos syndrome? My question is, is PRP or prolotherapy safe for patients with mast cell issues? MCAS to be exact. In case someone has a bad mast cell reaction, can antihistamines be taken or do they counteract PRP/prolo? Thank you.

    • @sebastianklisiewiczintegra9805
      @sebastianklisiewiczintegra9805  11 місяців тому

      We treat many patients with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS), most of them have histamine intolerance or mast cells dysfunction as part of EDS, I find that PRP works best as a treatment for the spine (cervical instability, pelvic and lumbar instability/laxity, SI joint pain and instability) and joints (knee pain and instability, shoulder subluxations, others). I don't see any mast cell issues with PRP or prolotherapy treatments, but you can take D-hist or other mast cell stabilizers, this will not affect the regenerative medicine treatments. Prolotherapy and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) are both great non surgical treatments of knee pain due to arthritis, meniscus injury, ligament sprain and tendonitis. These Regenerative Medicine procedures both aim at stimulating healing of the knee joint and supporting structures. Prolotherapy is less aggressive with a quicker recovery (sore for 1-3 days) but may require more treatments. PRP creates a stronger response, sometimes the patient is sore for 3-7 days, but PRP may require less treatments. In order to be maximally effective, both treatments (prolotherapy and PRP) should address the joint and all the surrounding ligaments and tendons to help improve the health of the whole knee (not just a inside joint injection). integrativerehabmedicine.com/treatments-regenerative-medicine

      @sebastianklisiewiczintegra9805 what does the prolo and prp do for the meniscus?

    Why don’t you use a fine needle of 30 or 32 g?

    • @sebastianklisiewiczintegra9805
      @sebastianklisiewiczintegra9805  Рік тому +1

      When doing prolotherapy for knee pain and arthritis, it is best to aspirate the joint (pull out the joint fluid) before injection dextrose prolotherapy solution. This aspiration requires a thicker needle as "knee joint inflammation" fluid is thick.

      What are the risks of knee joint infection from the introduction of the needles. I watched the video and the cleaning technique used, I thought it needs scrubbing for at least 30 seconds.

      Prolotherapy is a safe and effective treatment for knee pain. If done well by a trained regenerative medicine specialist, it is not too painful and very well tolerated by most.
