Patrol Hyperflash Fix
How to get your indicators flashing properly!
Here's a super easy way to correct your patrols hyper flash. This is commonly caused by fitting LED indicators which require less power than what is supplied causing to flash rapidly.
This can be fixed simply by replacing the factory flasher unit out for an LED flasher unit. In this video I show how quickly this can be done. If you're looking to do this yourself check out the link below to purchase this flasher unit from Qikazz.

I found a few major issues such as a damaged crank nose and blocked oil pickup. This lead me to decide on a...

Where did you buy the kit from ?
Bro! My D22 starting dicking out surging/power cutting in 4th over Christmas, then it was doing it in 3rd and 4th.. it’s been driving me nuts trying to figure out what the cause was. The last few weeks have been painful to drive it 😂 ordered a new NPS this morning. Another way to test if your NPS is faulty, is when you’re driving, have it in 3rd or 4th and move your gear stick firmly over the the left side (keeping it in gear), you’ll soon know. Just another little tip to diagnose this issue
Thanks for the tip, that sounds like a great way to pinpoint the NPS fault.
Ahoj kamarát. Ja mám doma takéto auto nissan d22 a vôbec mi nesvieti tachometer ani otáčko meter vobec nič uplná tma. Celá palubová doska je úplne tmavá.😞 Všetky poistky sú dobré. Nevieš mi prosím poradiť čo tam môže byť závada? Neviem si to sám opraviť neviem kde mám hladať chybu. Ďakujem ti pekne za pomoc. Tibor zo slovenska.
Hello Tibor, if the lights were working but suddenly went out I would begin by checking the fuses. The dash lights should be fused into the interior fuse box located under the steering wheel. If all the fuses appear to be ok then I would start checking for power up behind the dash.
@ReubsModifications Szia👋🏻 köszönöm hogy vissza írtál. Ahogy tudom megnézem úgy ahogy tanácsoltad. Köszönöm. 🤝🏻
hi mate how did you depressurise the diesel line before undoing the injector fuel lines? do you have to? thank you
Hey mate I let the car sit for a while before cracking one of the injector lines to bleed the pressure out of the system, just make sure to keep fingers clear of the lines when cracking them due to the pressure.
Hi Brother loving your videos. Would this kit of lights work for a 2002 nissan navara zd-30?
Hey mate I believe there may be a kit for the D22 using similar lights. If not you can buy universal LED Festoon lights that will work.
Hi! In a similar project, a Jeep Cherokee. At max turbo boost, does the actuator push the adjustment lever all the way to the end position?
Hey, yes the actuator does open the vanes all the way to the open position
winch?
You can put a pry bar down the stub axle and knock the roller bearing out , 4 hits and it’s out , no real need to heat or put bearing in freezer either … great step by step video tho 👌
Thanks, that's a good tip! I'll keep that in mind for future rebuilds.
mate you helped me out so much. my ac fan was making a noise and i had no idea where the fan was. i’ve pulled it out and cleaned out the rats nest that was in there. you bloody legend
Awesome to hear! Glad you were able to get the fan cleaned out. I've had my fair share of rats in the AC in multiple nissans, if the rats are persistent there is a few ways you can fit cabin filters into cars that didn't originally have one from factory.
What grit of sand paper you use?
various different grits, when you're removing the casting marks start at around 80-120, then mover your way up to 400-800 then move into polishing.
Hi mate, good work on the video my question is when cracking the injector lines on the d22 do you have to bleed the system after, or would it be ok to connect up the injector and all good? and can yo please do a video on bleeding the diesel system for us? thank you
You don't need to bleed the system, often the system will bleed itself with enough time cranking. However, it can take quite a bit of cranking the motor to get it to cycle the air out of the system. To bleed the injector lines and rail all you need to do is loosen the injector nut at each injector and crank the car until diesel comes out of the injector lines. Then tighten the injector nuts back up, this will force air out of the system.
Laying those pipe spanners on top of that uncovered battery positive is gonna end in tears soon enough, great tutorial
Thanks mate, it's definitely a bad habit especially without a terminal cover.
Corrosion actually makes sense, I drove through a massive puddle yesterday haha
I was stuck on getting that back screw out for a good 45 minutes and then I gave up
Did you end up getting it out? Can help if you get creative and piece together some sort of screwdriver out of 1/4 drive parts. If you're still having trouble you could buy a low profile ratcheting bit driver.
Just completed this job, what a absolute c_nt of a job getting the fuel lines off. Thanks for your clip help me out big time. Cheers👍
Glad to hear it helped mate, those fuel lines are a real pain!
Great vid mate. I've got my D40 front diff on the bench today to fit an Auto Lokka. I reckon Ill watch your vid a couple more times 👍🏻😄 It's funny, one of the supposed selling points for the Lokka is that it might prevent axle breakage because a wheel above the ground (free spinning) won't be be rotating as fast when it touches down again. Do you think that's true?...or a bit of a myth?
Great to hear, the lokka is a great mod. It is really up to how the car is driven but the lokka will allow you to drive tracks slower than unlocked as you have better traction and need less speed therefore allows you to control it better.
The problem with my d22 is only level 1 doesn’t work my 2,3 and 4 still do is this required for me to fix this??
Hey mate this is likely the issue, replacing this resistor should fix your problem.
Hello my friend, can I contact you on WhatsApp or Instagram? I have some questions. Thank you.
The fliped arms bind up almost instantly? Will that change? Can see when you jack up one side of the diff housing and it only moves a couple inches before the other side comes up too. Sad to see this not getting finished though I love the old d22s but the ifs is a pain so would be super cool to see it finished.
The idea is that it gives a much better angle for the arms and is then much better for driving on the road, if binding becomes an issue can opt for aftermarket arms with a different style bush.
Has anyone fit this to a 2009 D22 and can confirm that it fits correctly?
I believe these are the same for all models of D22
Awesome video man made my life easier 🙌
Thanks mate glad it helped you out!
Hey mate I know you did this video a long time ago but why did you put new injectors in in the first place
The car was running rough and had black smoke coming from the exhaust
@@ReubsModifications thanks for getting back to me mate really appreciate it. So it didn’t have a bad rattle or anything like that? Just curious because mine has a pretty bad rattle and I’m trying to figure out whether or not it injectors or timing chain 👍🏽
What are those metal clips called that you mounted the speakers too
The clips came with the speakers and were just a threaded clip to give the screws a better grab
Hey mate just wondering when the resistor is replaced will that fix the fan speed switch?
Hey mate, this resistor is the most common cause for the fan speed switch failing. Cant guarantee without seeing the car but would bet money that if the switch has failed it will be the resistor.
@ReubsModifications I put a new fan and new resistor in this arvo and it's still not working 😕 is there a fuse under the bonnet somewhere? (I have a 2005 d22 navara) cheers
Can you describe the issue you're having? Typically the fan resistor failing will cause the speed switch to work only on speed 4.
@ReubsModifications It's all good brother it was the blower Motor fuse.you wouldn't be in the Newcastle or Hunter area would you?
No sorry quite a few hours north of you up in Brisbane.
What brand is the rear bar looking to get one similar for my yd
Hey mate the rear bar is a custom one I was able to find second hand, sadly not too many like it kicking around.
I was thinking about doing this mod and now I've seen this vid, I'm not thinking about it anymore, I'm just gonna sell my Nav and buy a Patrol ute. Cheers 😉😂
Certainly not an easy job, getting a patrol is a good way to go about it.
@@ReubsModifications 👍👍
Life saver, thanks for the video!
No worries! Glad it helped
So 15w40 is defs good to use? Everyone keeps telling me 10w40 or 5w50 ffs lol.
@@blackie75 really depends on where you are and how you use the car
@@ReubsModifications West coast of Tassie and it gets used for a lot of short trips like to work and shops etc mainly, but a bit of beach and gravel tracks every now and then.
U Put aftermarket harness. So no need to Buy from Nissan Dealership ? 350z
@@autoperformance503 I purchase the harness from Amazon
I changed both knock sensor and harness still code came back. Should I clear the code with Obd scanner??
@@autoperformance503 yes clear the codes with a scan tool then try again 👍🏻
@@ReubsModifications and I also found a leak today on 350z one of the main fuel line leak ,
Great video mate, thanks!
@@DanyelleSinclair thanks mate glad you think so 👍🏻
So 2003 350z have how many knock sensors ??
@@autoperformance503 as far as I’m aware only the one in the centre of the block, I would not be surprised if the cam sensors also act in the same manner
Thank you for sharing the knowledge. Just finished the service on my D22. Fuel filter was a bit tight and difficult to remove, but managed to get it off after a while. Much appreciation all the way from South Africa👍
Very welcome, glad it helped.
Why’d you go with Blackhawk UCA rather than Dobinson all together?
I'm not sure if Dobinson had UCAs at the time and if they did the blackhawks were likely cheaper.
Great video, and yes a very painful job.
Thanks mate and tell me about it 😂
very well explained
Glad you think so!
I changed the harness and knock sensor bank 1 , still code p0327 coming back, I put oem sensor aftermarket for $45
I'm unsure why this would not have sorted the issue, I'd suggest making sure the code is properly cleared as it may still be logged.
@ I deleted the code with OBD scanner is that good??
good information but hey how can we get a software to register these nozzles?
Any software will likely be subscription based and costly, I was able to use the work laptop to code these in.
Part 2?
Hopefully getting onto it soon, I've got majority of the parts needed to get it going again..
GC!
Thanks mate!
Get to the fukn popoint
Thanks I’m gonna do this soon I also want to do my timing cover
Go for it! It wont be easy as the timing covers are quite intricate but it would look fantastic.
Just replaced my dashlights with these recommended LED…love it!,
That's excellent to hear 👍
Will this work on the yd25
No, the YD25s have LEDs soldered into the panel.
Awesome video i was looking for injector replacement themselves but i may end up taking it in seems a bit too time consuming 😅
Certainly is time consuming on these motors with all the gear on top and covers to remove then reinstall. Wont be cheap to send to someone else but at least the injectors themselves aren't too expensive 👍
@ReubsModifications i do have them already to go i just lack the time and knowledge to back myself in it being a days job if that makes sense Youre very good and clean witu your work too i rate it
That's understandable mate 👍 thanks a lot!
It's nice to watch a good video and learn something. Great Video thank you
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
and where did you get the parts from?
I purchase most of my parts through Ebay, I have links to the parts I used in the video description.
is it necessary to change the flywheel if it has no play?
Not necessary but depends on the condition of the flywheel. They are not very expensive and given the amount of labour to remove the gearbox it is usually worth replacing or reconditioning.
should of just went with the 2" wouldnt have to do all that fucking around with uca etc.
This wasn't for my car but there certainly is quite a few extra steps for the 3".
Did you have to trim the strut towers?
this video was awsome... to short... have a nice day...
Thanks for the visit!
Got any tips on how to remove intake manifold on d22 zd30
Patience, not a fun job and a bit of a squeeze but you need to be careful around the injector lines as they're easy to damage. Ratchet with a few extensions and a wobbly drive also helps.
