- Here’s how to fix the fuel gauge in your 350z.
I used second hand parts from a 2008 350z with the VQ35HR, the parts went in fine with no problems. I cannot find any information on whether the pumps are different.
This swap out took me around 2-3 hours including the time it took to remove the good sensors from a wrecked shell.
If you have any questions put them in the comments, thanks. - Авто та транспорт
In 2003 I bought a brand new Nissan 350 Z. I drove it all over the country and quickly learned that when the low fuel light comes on you still have 4 gallons of gas. I was tired of having to fill up constantly so as a test I brought 2 gallons of gas with me in the car and drove the car until it was completely out of gas and I got 600 miles out of the tank. I know it’s not the best thing to run a car out of gas for numerous reasons but the curiosity was killing me and I was so happy that I got 600 miles out of a 20 gallon gas tank. Averaging 70 mph @30 MPG on the freeway using SHELL gas. Only got 28 MPG with CHEVRON gas.
I still have the car it only has 146,000 miles on it after 20 years. it’s been one of the best cars I’ve ever owned and I’ve probably ran it out of gas at least five times and it’s still on the original fuel pump lol
I've also run mine out of fuel before testing how far you can push that fuel light
Interesting..mine works oddly, but different than yours. It will read half a tank sometimes when full, and just do some generally off readings at times. And nice, what a steal for $150. Parts car is the way to go.
Yeah from what I’ve heard they read anything but accurate 😂 and my brother just bought an 05 so a parts car will hopefully save us some money, can’t say no for $150👍🏻
The gauge is mine works BUT it only goes to halfway when it's full but works totally proportionally so I've never bothered fixing it. Why does the 350 have 2 separate level sensors?
Any chance you got this car sitting around still with the RHD bits? Would be interested in seeing about shipping some of it to the states if you're interested.
What do you need?
I changed both sides with brand new parts and my fuel gauge still isn’t working it looks just like yours before you swapped in the new parts
That’s strange I guess the cluster would be the issue in your case but that sounds uncommon.
My fuel gauge doesn't work even though I replaced the fuel pump with an aftermarket one that's not from factory. I haven't replaced the fuel level sensor yet, so I'm not sure if it's that or the aftermarket fuel pump that's not making it work. Do you think I should get an original fuel pump or just replace the fuel level sensor.
Im not too familiar with aftermarket fuel set ups, but id say its a pretty safe bet to just replace the sensors in both sides.
@@ReubsModifications ok thanks
Até you sure it's from a HR ??? so basically it's plug e play like you said correct??
Yeah from what I can tell it’s plug and play, haven’t had any issues yet
I know whats wrong with it, aint got no gas innit
🤣 🤣
Your likely to damage your watch
How’s that mate?
