  • We get to weld in our first suspension brackets in this video. We also get to take a look at the Radflo Coilovers that just arrived for the front suspension setup. Finally got around to stripping the GU patrol diff and position it under the Nav.
    Hope you guys enjoy, if you have any questions use the comment section or my socials are shared at the end screen.

    Honestly stoked to see it, at the moment I’m in the process of selling my nav to buy a patrol but I’m stupid keen seeing patrol gear getting thrown under the nav!! Surely the other projects get put on hold to smash this out hahah

      Yeah patrols have so much more room, I’ll probably build one when I outgrow the nav. And I’ve got most of the gear for the front so I can put more time into it now 🤙🏻

    In the middle of swapping my VK56 D22 frontier to Dana axles. just seen this kit in the earlier episodes, and seeing how it is installed, i realise how much easier things can be when you aren't "eyeballing it". Pretty sure if i knew i would have went for this kit (if it is now released) and im sure Patrol axles would've held up fine with VK56.
    The only thing that gave me jitters was referring to axles as "diff" but I guess that's how the bee flies in the land down ynder

      That sounds like an awesome build never heard of someone swapping the VK56 into a d22. We don’t have too many Dana axles down here so the patrol axles are usually the go to or the Toyota cruiser axles. The fitment is pretty straightforward as the measurements have already been made before the kit got developed so you just measure up and tac in place.
      And you’re right the correct term is axle we just call the whole lot the diff down here for whatever reason 😂

    Love the uploads mate. Rules mush have changed a lot in the last 20 years. I remember trying to keep my Hilux legal and just gave up. Was allowed 50mm total without engineering. Ended up at 6 inches. Body + suspension. Never had any problems with the cops as it didn't look stupid if you know what I mean.

      Thanks mate, there’s a lot of hoops to jump through, I think it’s a case of finding an engineer who wants to do it. Otherwise they won’t even bother getting into details they’ll just say it can’t be done 🤷🏻‍♂️

    What diff did you use in the front and where can you get the kit for the conversion possibly how much it cost

    • @ReubsModifications
      @ReubsModifications  2 роки тому

      Hey mate I'm using a GU patrol front diff, the kit is from Crawl Customs but it is not yet available and the price is not yet released. If you follow the facebook page "Crawl Customs" he will announce when it is available.

    How come the arms are upside down or is that how they need to run for the swap

    • @ReubsModifications
      @ReubsModifications  2 роки тому +1

      Generally the flatter they can be the better, and with it being custom and having to weld on brackets anyway it’s just as easy to mount them on top. Next time you see a patrol or cruiser that’s lifted checkout the angle, they often need to run corrective bushes to fix the castor 👍🏻
