Although North's results have been OK, their football has not been great, the Tigers V North game was close to tge worst standard I have seen all year. I can't remember a game where both teams conaistently turned the ball over by missing 15-20m kicks and 2-4m handballs when under little pressure and then neither club punishing the other for their mistakes. If this game was at Optus, I would tip WC without a thought. Being in Hobart brings it closer to a 50/50 game. I am still tipping WC but without a lot of confidence.

My take, which is probably ill-informed: The Eagles basically have the players they need (for the moment). The young players are good players, it's more a matter of having the players gain more experience, and gain experience playing with one another, finding how to win. I think next season we could do much better. Basically the point I am questioning is the idea that Eagles "don't have good players and need to draft". Ye,s, they will draft and get more good players, but I have faith in the ones we have, the young ones. And the older players can do much better, and probably will do better as the younger ones gain more experience, the new and established will both help the other.

I watched Flynn at the WAFL on the weekend, and to be honest, he just looks a bit slow and under done. He's missed so much football, all he has to offer is winning the tap. I think B.Williams provides a lot more overall, across rhe course of the game. Flynn was barely making it to the next ruck contest on time. I reckon he's on a conditioning stint for a few weeks. This will be a tricky game. North Melbourne its their game in Tasmania, they will come out competitive. In that last game earlier in the season, North got the victory, given it was under controversy. I think someone with trade value does need to go unfortunately. Barrass is my favourite player, flyin definitely up there too. I don’t think we should trade watermen, Allen, Reid etc. so if we could get a top 10 pick for barrass and maybe a mid/early 20s pick for Ryan we should do it.. but it would hurt losing both that’s for sure. Yes, absolutely. He's the most likely to fall off the cliff the quickest given his injuries. Take what you can get for him. WCE are way too conservative when it comes to trading out players. WC must get more draft capital by trading out players before Tassie skew the draft even more than it currently is. WC can't waste time. Keeping the same players and expecting different results...

I think we have Hewitt and Waterman that can play a marking speedy half forward forward role. Ryan for a pick in the teens would be good. But I don't think he'll want to go.

I can't see Ryan leaving Perth. Too far from his home town. Fair enough. It could cause some upset in the playing group and harmony is important too. I do think he is the cherry on top of a good team. A guy that will deliver a premiership. He has to want to go is my opinion.

I think your value assessment of Ryan is spot on. Nobody is going to offer their first round pick for an inconsistent, soft tissue injury prone 28 year old. Hawthorn especially do not need another small forward. I can't see any team offering enough to make it worthwhile to WC. Unless Ryan was desperate to leave, it makes no sense to me from anyone's point of view.

If eagles get a top 20 pick offered for him they should absolutely take it. Forward pockets don’t add much to bottom sides, he is worth a lot more to a contender than to the eagles. Not to mention he is 27, unlikely to be at the eagles when they next contend and is keeping a spot from a younger player.

Absolutely exploring a trade for him makes sense his age and inconsistency are the two things that stand out . He doesnt do a lot in a game but when he does its flashy so people only remember that

I said to trade Liam 2 years ago, it's too late now worth only half that value. I say trade Oscar Allan now, he goes to ground way easily, I see Oscar as quite a meek player who doesn't contest well.
