Absolutely mighty performance against arguably the most inform side in the comp of the last 10 weeks. I put a comment on one of your last videos that we should play the kids and give guys like Maric and Trew (among others) a fair crack. I really like that, in his first game Schofield moved the magnets around and gave the young guys a shot in their favored positions. I've been screaming for Ginbey to be on the back flank and I thought he was more impactful offensively but needed some work defensively. Was absolutely elated by the fact that our effort didn't waver for any period of the game, we seriously had a massive shot at it which was so refreshing to see.
Fantastic analysis as usual. Considering no Gov n Darling, we did really well against the form side of the competition. Hough is an absolute gun. The kids did well n I noticed an improvement on tackle n chase across the team. Let down by some poor offload decisions. Love the positional changes, see if it all transfers to this week against the Saints 💙💛🏆🦅
As for the game in its entirety, I felt it was a really composed performance, the attitude and pressure were there, and I was proud to see us keep fighting back, even if Brisbane did always have an answer (like Kai Lohmann). It would have been nice to have snatched the win, but I feel that we should be telling ourselves that this next game is very much winnable if we bring the same attitude, pressure and effort. I was glad to see Trew really do some good in the center, really pleasing to see.
Trew was very good inside with his hands. I think they will keep him in the squad because of the example of how he’s worked through adversity. We need a mature and competitive ruckman for next year.
That was supposed to be flynn but he hasn't been great so far. Hopefully another preseason getting synergy with the team gets him up but what would be best is batman bulking up and taking the top spot. I don't feel recruiting another ruckman is the go. Unless English wants to sign as a free agent of course, but that's looking unlikely
Harry Edwards and Jack Williams impressed me. Looked like brockman and duggan were going to miss a week so Johnson/dewar and Culley make sense as ins. Good to see Ginbey playing off the half back which suits him at this stage of his career
Yeah, nothing matters if we don’t back it up with a hard nose performance this week. The rest of the year might change my mind but I think Schoey should be the senior coach next year. Last two coaches were premiership coaches, so no pressure there.😊
Things I want to see in the last few weeks. Culley get a good run. Archer Reid, Burgiel and Hall to get a go minimum of 1-2 games. No more Rotham, Darling, Sheed, Gaff.
West coast should go after Jackson Archer currently out of contract has done a few good jobs and allows our back line to stay smaller playing H Edwards , Gov Barrass and hough
No it's not. Kid has an attitude problem. He's always arguing with the ref's and they don't award him frees when he should get them because of it. I'm a Harley fan don't get me wrong but his ego needs to get in line. He'll never win a brownlow if he's at the umps every time something doesn't go his way. I've never seen a first year player wrestle with opposition so much. Which is fine, good to give a bit but learn some composure. Keep your mouth shut and let your footy do the talking son
Call me a traitor, but my thinking was that Brisbane hadn't played West Coast at Optus since it was built. So With it being a new Coach and send off for Simmo. I had a $20 multi bet on Geelong, Sydney, GWS & Brisbane to win $56. LoL I would of been quite happy, though if the Boys got up anyway. Especially after nailing the Quaddie at Kalgoorlie Races.😅

It was a good game, some of the fifty’s and free gave Brisbane easy goals. Sad we couldn’t do it for Simmo tho.

Like you said I hope it isnt a one off, due to a new coach etc, and the selection and new tactics will bring improvements etc going forward.
No Simpson no Darling, no Gaff and no Sheed we look like a completely different team for the better!

I really enjoyed the changes to the team and the positional changes. Credit to Schofield and co. Feels like progress. 😊
