Were different at home this year especially if Kelly yeo reid etc all playing out of that midfield. Love the enthusiasm you’ve got me up for it. I’ll be there hoping the boys on!
i think oscar and jake could really get ahold of frost and sicily if given great midfield service, which we could give them with imo a superior midfield mix. Its just about if can maintain effort, focus, and competitiveness throughout the contest consistently

The last 3 matches West Coast hasn't been bad in the results despite losing to North Melbourne and St Kilda at home (penciled in 5 weeks ago) and Essendon scoring 122. Reid and Kelly back, the home crowd cheering Allen, i have a feeling the Eagles win a 1 point nail-biter and after the 2006 Grand Final who needs that but there it is anyway 😅
Wish I shared your optimism, but hard to see us winning. Hawks are dangerous, move the ball quickly, can score quickly. We just get killed on transition, and our zone defence will let them run riot. Only way I see us winning is in a shoot out where we score heavily and obviously more. Thats kind of been the case in all 3 of our wins, we've scored quite heavily.
Simmo keeps talking about synergy and this team is no doubt the kind of team we have all been waiting to see out on the field for quite some time. But with so many in and out over this past month or so that synergy piece is what im a little worried about, especially agaisnt a group who seem to have finally clicked in that "synergy" area and are going well. Im tipping the eagles and hope they win but really wouldn't be surprised if we loose, just hope the efforts there and they get up for yeo and his family. ❤ the vids mate.

They have every right to win this, Hawthorn coming off the bye could be sluggish and Eagles will be hungry for a response. Reid will be reving up Optus and they will catch fire similar to the Derby. The Eagles have proven that they can beat almost anyone when they are playing their best footy. They played great footy at times during the Essendon game. If they put in a 4 quarter they could win by 30 the thing that’s been letting them down is remaining concentrated for 4 quarters. I know Hawthorn are a great side but I still believe if they win comfortably like they have been the Eagles are not ready to take the next step anytime soon because they have every right to take the dub.
Don't know who saw the Barrass interview from the Club, this evening but he said a few things best. One I believe he won't go anywhere, like Yeoy. The other was about playing the Hawks. He said if we can slow the game down we can certainly do our game plan and if we implement it this game. We can win this one.

The understated fact that Sydney have played only 28 players for whole season, means they are super predictable to each other. Eagles need a few weeks with the same crew for them to get into a groove. Then we smash freo and Melbourne (for example)

Strongly disagree that we need to change expectations for the club 2/3rds the way through the season. Yes, we need to expect more each week, but also need to expect that our younger players will fatigue further as the year progresses and an injury here or there to Yeo, Kelly, Reid, gov or Barrass again will cripple us again. For me , just want to keep growing slowly without upping expectations beyond what we set out to do at the start of the year, which I think we can all agree was something along the lines of: win 4-6 games, expose the youth as much as possible and be competitive in most games(ie no 100pt blow outs), particularly away but also at home.
I think this is a really great team. I think back to the Melbourne game, I think this team is a bit better than that. The only things I would consider are will Harley and Kelly come back fit and firing, or will they come back in a "I need a week to remember how to play football again". Harley I can see just coming straight back, Kelly I'm not sure, but I hope both are solid, and if so I think Eagles have a great chance. Hawthorn are doing well, but they are also a young team, and so playing away they might not be as equipped as a more mature team would to find a way to win.
With jones tagging Martin last game. Pretty sure he takes Sicily as a defensive fwd. I think petch and hutch out. Depending if yeo plays. And based on how hunt is going it almost seems we could be better served by him getting healthy and letting maric play the wing role but I really like him either way

Hawthorn by 61 pts, both teams pretty sloppy but if we kicked straight could've been over ealier, probably unfair to judge Yeo on that game with week he's had and Harley off suspension looked a little rusty. Allen i thought was poor from a hawk perspective but he's only just come back, kelly i thought was poor, he probably got heap of the ball but just went missing on day where eagles mids got battered, thought we'd win going in but in a much closer game, outside potential sicily injury, couldn't be happier with that team or Sam. I agree can’t be getting pumped far from the worst side on paper and relatively fit no excuses.
I feel that we have been playing better despite not getting the Wins. If we can be more accurate in front of goals then we will be competitive.
