I see what you are saying but 90% of our first round picks have been flops in recent years. I believe Baker will be our best player and Bolton in the fwd would be awesome. Especially bringing new depth and new role models for the young players
Culley is not a good footballer, he’s slow cumbersome and very low impact even at WAFL level. He gets a lot of junk possessions which look ok on a spreadsheet but gets soundly beaten every game
Baker is a lock to the Eagles, he’s already made it known to some of his close circle he’s coming home. Bolton is from left field, maybe WC ask the question, but Baker will be a go and they’re going after Warner as well
Great point at the end with the pick 3, it’s rare to be able to trade up to a pick 3, you have to “earn” it. So giving that up just to facilitate a b grader in baker doesn’t make sense, all depends what we got back. The Bolton chat is because Richmond want freo to pay top dollar and will use our interest as leverage.
I think its difficult to predict because there aren't many list spots that will be available, even after retirements. If we get a few free agents in, then we'll find it hard to also bring in 4 draft picks.
Nice video. I don't see a trade of picks for baker or Bolton making sense, as we are not on the cusp of contending again. They would be probably 30 before we are playing finals again. I think trading some surplus players like Bailey Williams, or Archer Reid should be considered for those two.
If we managed to get Buss, he could basically count as a draft pick for us being a young player. If we are trading for Baker and Busslinger I think id like us to split 3 for a couple of picks of roughly equivalent value to the Ginbey/Hewett trade, then use those 2 picks + 59 in the draft. Our 2024 and 2025 2nd rounders + whatever scraps for Buss and Baker. If we are getting any free agents, we can delist/trade Burgiel or Witho, or potentially delist a contracted player with 1 year left like Petch for example and pay them out to make a 6th spot
I actually don’t mind trading barrass, he probably won’t be part of our next flag team and I firmly believe Edwards is a direct replacement. That gets us the first rounder for baker and we keep 3. Also should be looking to trade shred for a second rounder.
The problem, other teams will try and ball us for him. He's worth a high first round pick, but alot of people would disagree with that. Better of keeping him, then getting ripped off for him.
What's the latest on Tim English? It sounded like we were massively into him at one point, but he's had an ordinary season. If our offer was lucrative enough to get the Dogs a Band 1 compensation pick, they'd be pretty happy with that. I certainly don't think English is worth $900k a year or whatever translates to Band 1 now, but it might help grease the wheel for a deal that gets us Busslinger? And it would probably mean trading Bailey Williams. Not sure of his value. And not sure if any of this would even be worth our while.
I reckon the bolton talk is just clickbait, only way they trade him is if he asks to go. They see him as THE key player of their next 5 years. Baker is a good chance tho, how we work it is questionable tho. We would likely have to split our first pick and i dont think thats the best idea for where we are in our rebuild. Left field idea, trade our 1st and 2nd rounders and future 2nd to freo for their 3 first rounders. Wont happen cos they almost never trade with each other but it would potentially benefit both teams....lol
I would love Bolton but we probably need Warner more than him. Also, we need to build with youth that will be around well into the future. We need to give Harley every reason to stay.
They cant trade pick 3 or split it for crap to trade in baker. We need Sullivan or Trainor. Id prefer Busslinger with the 2nd rd pick. If tigers dont take the 2nd rd pick then we move on.
I think you're seeing the media trying to get clicks from talking trades all the time. In some respects its a bit less than what the rumours usually are. Its just that the trade talk is starting now, and not towards the end of the season as per usual. The fact that we are unllikely to trade picks is probably hosing down most of the big rumour talks. Bolton no one is giving serious consideration. He'll stay at Richmond under a long contract or would consider Fremantle. But I reckon he will clearly stay. Even Baker is more likely to go to Freo as they are set for more success than the Tiges and Eagles, and Freo have three first round picks to trade. English has really dropped away as a possiblity now and he's expected to sign with Bulldogs. Even Graham talk has faded. Latest rumour is the Carlton guy from Chapman Valley. Forget his name sorry. Warner is a chance after next season but not for next season. Regardless he won't go to the Eagles and likely to stay in Sydney and try to win some flags.
I reckon Barrass will be finished by 3 years. He talked about his injuries only yesterday saying its permanent. It doesn't sound like a man trying to go elsewhere.
Ridiculous talking about players with multiple years left on their contracts. Hopefully we aren't selling the farm for Baker, at the end of the day he wants to come home, while he is a great player, we have to nurture our youth as they will be the future of the club
Forget Baker full stop... Bolton is a good player sure, but NEVER trade a top ten draft pick and that is what we are going to have. Indeed, the top 5 are a class above the rest of top ten. When the Tassie side come in forget drafting, because the talent pool will have dried up. THAT is the time we begin trading for guys. There is another Dursma coming up, and some other potentially gun midfielders, lets get more of those. We need another quality big defender as backup to Barras and Guv.. and a young ruckman. There are plenty of quality defenders and ruckman who go later in the first round, so there is no reason we cant get all three of our requirements those this year and next considering the mid season draft. The other consideration is we need to build a war chest for our mate Harley... the Vics will be going at him hard and we need to be able to better or meet whatever they bid. The kid will be the heart of the club for the next 15 years if we are smart with him. The No 1 problem is the defensive set up. How many times do we see guys standing 5 metres of their opponent? That is find against crap teams, against the top teams who CAN AND WILL pin point foot skills, its suicide. And I scratch my head as to why Simmo, or the strategy committee, or whoever it is who comes up with the game plan cant see that. If Barras and Guv are allowed to run off their man, the wingers have to drop back and pick up the loose players, everybody else should be manning up.
like you, I am extremely reluctant to trade for Baker and Bolton. The cost, giving up a first round pick, is too high.
I see what you are saying but 90% of our first round picks have been flops in recent years. I believe Baker will be our best player and Bolton in the fwd would be awesome. Especially bringing new depth and new role models for the young players
Bolton for pick three is worth it imo. That's a huge vertebrae added to the spine and we have ageing players. And he is the age bracket we are lacking
Bolton, that’s a new one, I’ve heard?
Hope I’m wrong but I don’t think Culley will have much impact at AFL level and will be delisted in 3-4 years. Just not seeing it but hope I’m wrong
Culley is not a good footballer, he’s slow cumbersome and very low impact even at WAFL level. He gets a lot of junk possessions which look ok on a spreadsheet but gets soundly beaten every game
Overrated

warner is not leaving swans mate
@@tanzify2749 I guess I’ll have to take your word for it…
@@stevelewis2080he’s definitely not leaving at the end of 2024, but end of 2025 is a watch.
@@stevelewis2080 why would Warner leave swans, he’s most likely winning the premiership their too this year
@@tanzify2749apparently Pyke is good mates with Warner from his time a swans and they been chatting about him coming home
Great insight and well explained.

Be both great additions, but unlikely they'll let Bolton go easily.
Wouldn't put it past our list manager being ex-Richmond linking us to all these Richmond players
This'd be big for West Coast if they can get both. They're Richmond's best players.
Strange TB spoke about this a couple of days ago and he was asked that exact question and he said he was staying 🤔🦅

your a legend
I remember we were talking to Bolton around 2017-2019 can’t remember the exact year, was just before he broke out, could be something in this 👀
I think we can't re-rookie Culley, same reason Kangas delisted Jacob Edwards. Witho was dropped early in the season but been good since
Baker already brought a house in perth
Who on the east coast hasn't 😂😂

You forgot Tyler brockman
What you get for Barass on trade that pick for baker keep pick 3
I actually don’t mind trading barrass, he probably won’t be part of our next flag team and I firmly believe Edwards is a direct replacement. That gets us the first rounder for baker and we keep 3. Also should be looking to trade shred for a second rounder.
If all things go well. We shoukd be contending four top four next two years. No if's or buts with the current team
Agree this list is at least 5 years away and possibly not looking at finals (without drastic drafting/recruiting) for possibly 8-10 years.
The problem, other teams will try and ball us for him. He's worth a high first round pick, but alot of people would disagree with that. Better of keeping him, then getting ripped off for him.

English signed on to the bulldogs for another 3 years
Bolton for pick three is a bargain..
WTF is wrong with J Jones?
He’s pretty okay with his dash off half back
I reckon he’s better then Alex witherden
Spot on.

The guy u thinking of is jack carroll
Yeo is 2 + a trigger apparently, so not a true 3 year
I reckon Barrass will be finished by 3 years. He talked about his injuries only yesterday saying its permanent. It doesn't sound like a man trying to go elsewhere.
You won't get Bolton Freo already well into him he asked about a trade to Freo tigers said no way he's going anywhere
Baker can take over from Cripps when he retires and we’ll miss big time.
He will leave a gaping hole in our side when he does
I'd take jj over petch personally.

Gaff, witherden, rotham and Luke Edwards all need to be shown the door. Witherden should be delisted today
Baker, English, Warner .. dont need bolton
😂 Warner to Freo baker to eagles english stays
bro always goes missing after an atrocious win. embarrasing nuffie
Who hurt u bro
Baker is not worth a first rounder in no way, and only if we were desperate. He's a pick 16 at best
