    Best pedals ever!!! I would never ride without them. Never, ever heard a clicking noise. Maybe your set was a factory error. Again …. Best pedal on the market.

    Going just out of my experience with barefoots and my own googling of pros on the subject: it seems as if barefoots amplify your stride errors, which is why even pros would run faster on padded shoes (not accounting for the spring boost that a padded shoe might give you). Track runners run on spikes, with no padding.

      Definitely a fan of this one! It’s just as good as the big brands but wasn’t nearly as expensive. Which is also good when they all easily rip at the top end. This gave me the best buoyancy I could find. Solid for the leg drag 😂 sizing is tough, I’d probably say large broad but hard to say

    They're not as good as the original Speedplay imo. They are a nice pedal but the cleats are hopeless and the masses of float seems to make the situation even worse. Be careful if wearing overshoes as you can get a lot of rub on crankarms if you go for unfettled amounts of float.

    How often do you adjust or plan your training? I have tried planning but it usually falls apart because I make them too easy or to hard.

    • @alexreader
      @alexreader Місяць тому

      That’s can be the challenge with setting your own plan. Having a coach often avoids that. I often make things to hard for myself ha. If I’m programming for myself il try to start things “easy” for the first 2 weeks but slowly ramp it up. Adjusting if needs be. Then depending on the programme change it every 4-16 weeks

    I have the exact same issue with my Vivobarefoot Primus Lites which are breaking down at the same spots on the toe bend etc. One spot starting peeling after just a few weeks but stabilised and didn't get any worse for a long time. Two years after purchase they are starting to look tatty but are otherwise very comfortable and still going strong. Am keeping them for training outdoors.

I have been running in the xero HFS for 2-3months and I am a beginner and I have this top of the foot pain and I have stopped running since a week. Would love to know if anyone else had a similar experience. Thanks.

    To me it depends on the type of goal you want to achieve. Wanna be the strongest / fastest etc.? Use all the (legal) gear that you can to achieve your goal. Wanna achieve the healthiest "base form" in terms of your own body? Strip away as much gear as possible and see how far you can take it. For weightlifting, I avoid using straps or belts when doing deadlifts or squats. I want all parts of my body to be able to deal with the load and not just skip building grip strength in order to get the highest amount of weight off the ground. Same with squats; I often don't put on more plates cause I get worried that my lower back rather than my legs might be the limiting factor. I still refuse to use a belt for stability and instead opt to stay at a lower weight that my body as a whole can handle. I just feel like that's the more sustainable method in the long term since I only work out for me and not for a competition / trophy / whatever. Same with running; I switched to barefoot shoes about 1½ years ago. I'm a very irregular runner (a.k.a. I'm often too lazy to run) and I still haven't fully made it back to my former (still very mediocre) pace or distance because it takes more effort in these shoes. It's still the only way I can imagine running these days and since I'm not trying to break any records, I'm fine with slowly getting used to this new type of shoes. If I wanted to go for max speed in a competition with others, I'd probably go with the Altras too since there's really no excuse for the ridiculously narrow toe boxes of most other brands. (btw, for weightlifting and general activities in the gym, I don't wear any shoes, just socks for hygiene reasons. Shoes are pretty much unnecessary for most exercises in my gym, so why bother?)

    It is probably too late now given that this video is at least a year old now but either the chain or the chain rings are very worn, hopefully the worn part has been replaced by now. Can see how worn the chain/chain ring is from the gap that can be seen between the chain and the chain rings as you pedal.

    • @jaycab4806
      @jaycab4806 2 місяці тому

      Hi mate I recently changed over to speedplays. From my experience clipping in is easy once you get adjusted. It's more of a stomping action than toeing it in compared to Shimano and so far Ive had less slips off the pedal from trying to clip in at the lights. Saying that Shimano still great pedal system which I still have on my other bikes. I just got speedplay for the power meter which is more suitable for my main bike set up. Hope that helps
