I was also debating to do Zwift academy tri! After Zwift Academy! However I did sign up and also did my first run on Zwift last week with the Zwift runpod works great so far keep up the efforts 😊
Woo! Have you done the first run and first bike? I tried the run pod just running around on zwift and it wasn't nearly as accurate compard to follow the the academy tri workout. Have you tried it outside of using it for a structured workout?
@@alexreader yes, I completed the first week. Can’t wait for the second week! My recommendation is first do the cycling workout and do a recovery day and complete one of the run workouts. I completed both in the same day and time for recovery was 3 to 4 days. it was brutal. As far as the Zwift run pod, it arrived in the mail within a few days of ordering and I’ve only used it for the work out. Make sure you calibrate it as well and there could be also an update otherwise, it’s a great running tool.
@@MyThomas6 I did run one and cycle one on the same day to 🤣 probably not the best idea but it was the best way to fit it in with the rest of training and life. Yeah I might try and re calibrate it. Week 2 here we come 💪💪
@@alexreader absolutely must find that balance, haha Looking forward to week 2!
Hello! During a run session, is it annoying changing your speed manually on the treadmill? I’m guessing that’s what you have to do when you only have a run pod.
Hey Oliver, yeah you do. A bit annoying and I can imagine even more annoying if your doing short intervals. Also depends on how easy it is to do on the treadmill 🤣 one I've been using requires a fairly hard press to go up 0.1km at a time 🤦🏽♂️ but not the end of the world. I would like to try a smart treadmill!
I am a big fan of Zwift running as a compliment to outdoor running.
@@alexreader I have the Stryd pod and it’s compatible with Zwift. I like the one off interval runs like up the ladder.
@@mattmecham ah cool, find it matches up with the treadmill speed pretty good?
I don`t like have so many others around and in front of me when I run or cycle.
Did the whole ZA bike but last finish line ride was 6am and missed it, a reminder email with schedule after last ride would have been helpful.
Is there anyway of doing run workouts outside for those without gym membership or treadmills ?
Ah man that's frustrating, how did you find the workouts though?
Not that I know of but I feel like there should be some sort of work around for that. Currently using a gym treadmill with the run pod and my phone
@@alexreader most quite hard but thought too many seemed similar, warmups too long
I thought tri workout 1 was more interesting
@@gourami7 yeah enjoyed the different cadence drills. Workout 2 tomorrow morning 🥰
Just ordered a run pod 👍🏻
Awesome! I will be interested to see how you get on with it. I've struggled with mine a few times now syncing up and the accuracy. Should be a good option over the winter though
@@alexreader I think it will just encourage me to run more on the treadmill over the winter
@@UlmerDK honestly. I didn’t like it. I sent it back. I got frustrated because I couldn’t get it to sink with the app, gave up after an hour or so of trying and sent it back
How do you find the accuracy of the runpod so far ?
I've gotta be honest, I used it a few times and more often than not I couldn't get it to be in sync with the treadmill speed/distance. So il use it occasionally but only when the weather is really bad and the accuracy isn't so important for a given workout. Apart from that I'm sticking to running outside for the time being.
I can definitely relate to the cadence issue. I went from a low cadence rider to a spin to win rider after doing Zwift. 95 now feels very comfortable, compared to my previous 80-85. And riding with that same 95 ish outdoors has really helped me keep fresh legs for the ride duration. Cheers Alex! Great video
Yeah exact same experience for me. 90-100 feels so much more efficient on the legs now. I still occasionally come across a really strong rider who spins at 75-85 rpm, but that's rare.
