Just a suggestion/tip for you - not related directly to Zwift Academy but to your setup - your TV screen/monitor is set way, way too high. I can see you having to crick your neck back to even see it. You want to set it ideally level with or *below* the height of your handlebars so that you can read the screen without sitting up from normal ride position in the drops/TT bars (ie replicating the head position of looking at the road ahead). You'll find it a lot easier to continue putting power down while also being able to see the screen. Hope this helps!
Yeah absolutely right, I've thought about getting a second TV for that reason as the one I have is set up for my personal training studio. Like you say not ideal but something il probably change in the future. I've also been look at wattbike atom x's ha
Gives you a tough workout
I haven't got the email yet from them yet and I can easily tell that I'm a sprinter type.
Surprised that you were so clearly an anaerobically-dominant athlete and that your aerobic power was so low relative to it, with you being a triathlete - you'd expect the opposite normally!
🤣 Well I'm not really a triathlete, I've only done a few and I come from more of a strength and conditioning background but I can definitely see some changes with me doing a lot more cardio in my current training. How did you do?
Is that your bottom bracket I hear?
No 😭 it's been checked by a mechanic, we think its coming from one of my speedplay pedals! Which I did a video on. But nn going talks with wahoo at the minute so hopefully I can sort it. Sounds horrible I know ha
Imho you might wanna redo the baseline if you want a real evaluation. First segment pacing was pretty bad (i thought you were domestic pro rider when i see first 20 seconds pacing
🤣🤣 yeah it was all good for 20s! Turns out I'm a sprinter ha. I would do it again but I'm going to be hard pushed to fit all the workouts in so il just have to wait until then finish line ride and take the results with a pinch of salt. How did you get on?
@@alexreader i uploaded my own video in my channel. I think i could have done a bit better myself but i just enjoy riding and don't really taper for a real test, always carry some fatigue. I was surprise i am sprinter per ZA email. But it does show my weakness at medium segment where i got dropped in the race IRL
@@WilfShadow For me (and i think most youtube coach would say) anything more than 30s will need some pacing strategy. And these effort keep highest constant power you can hold along the segment will yield fastest time.
Hope you don't get a blank email, like most of us have.
I've only just heard about what's been going on! Not a successful start? Such a shame. Guessing you've done it with no email about rider type? You'll see towards the end of this video I put mine up on the screen.
@@alexreader Got an email, but it says "We measured your Baseline Ride and crunched the numbers. You're a ! ", with no numbers in the rest of the email. I'm sure they'll fix it soon. I've contacted support, but it seems to be quite a widespread issue.
@@MattMcQueen1 yeah it doesn't look like you are the only one! I'm seeing a lot of it on social media. Did you do one of the very first baseline rides?
What type of rider are you 🤔??
Most people seem to get sprinter... i got 11w/kg on short, 5.4 on medium and 3.8 on long.
a friend of mine beat me on both long and medium and still got told hes a sprinter. i'de more consider him a Pursuiter
@@kristianvonstrokirch9574 yeah thats something I've noticed as well. Seems to be the most common thing, zwift have skewed things towards it maybe. Or none of us like a long effort 🤣🤣
Just received my email 2 days ago, sprinter too with 11.8w/kg on short, 6.4w/kg on medium & 3.9w/kg on long (22s, 1m35s & 8m26s respectively)
@@GuillaumedeFresnoye that's epic, nice work! il see if i can catch you up at the baseline ride ha
@@alexreader Thanks! Btw, I find the workouts very interesting & efficient (did 3 on 6 so far), always interesting to work around FTP, hard but interesting ;)
