Reliability is number 1 in my opinion. Sure DD rifles aren’t cheap but not out of reach for most. The fact that customer service is great means a lot.

Was used to shooting iron sights with the carry handle. So when they issued me my first flat top, I just set mine up to mimic the same nose to charging handle eye relief, and it came natural.

For all you in the comments saying this isn’t possible, this gun was made for men not short kings if your under 6ft stick to carrying a shield 😂

ACOG RCO is THE best combat optic. Why, easy to use in a house, or an environment where the 4x power allows you to see if someone is hostile or not, AND the stinking thing is a tank. The RCO is very light and some how can take abuse like no other. Ive personally witnessed them being ran over, dropped from 7 tons, and banged on concrete wall. Still held the zero.

Sounds like you need an RMR for your acog

Have a T2, exps-2, romeo 8t, and a romeo 4xt pro. I recommend the 4XT pro. Just ordered a aimpoint 3x mag1 and the Spurh RDF mount. At around 2k for the package its a tough one for even me lol.

I loved my A4 in Iraq. 😅 modularity was amazing, being able to add and remove m203s, lasers, scopes, etc made for a very customizable platform. And yes, it was somewhat heavy, but nothing for motivated Marine toting grenades, 15 magazines, a pistol, and corresponding magazines.

The only thing heavy about any M-16 version is all the accessories people add on. If you have a plain A2 or A4 model and you feel that's it's heavy. You need to hit the gym.

This isnt the current rifle qual used for yearly rifle qual, but it is the rifle qual we use for recruit training. Good on you for giving it a go. If you were shooting on a qualification range, youd have people down in the pits pulling targets down to score and then sending them back up so you wouldnt need a spotter
