It's so weird to hear a guntuber being so chill with their guns. Just a nice, "I like this gun, and I wanted to tell you guys about it." It's a nice change of pace from the whole "You should be putting 20 million rounds a day through your guns otherwise you're worth nothing" that's normally in and around some parts of the community
I had a MK18 upper that I put about 4000 rounds on. I loved it with the Surefire Warcomp on it. I could have optimized it, but I ended up getting rid of it to do an HK416 build. The MK18 is definitely a nice system
I've got three Mk18 Clones (two Mod 0 & one Mod1 ) and have one suggestion...upgrade your buffer system with a VLTOR A5 kit. Your internal parts will thank you several thousand rounds later.
You will really appreciate the MK18 once you pick up a suppressor. The Block II is heavy but not unbearable but when you put a full size Surefire RC2 on it, it really becomes cumbersome during training classes etc.
hi I just found your channel and I just wanna say thank you for representing who I am as a shooter. I don’t want to larp as a tactical shooter, sure I want the same gear and stuff but, idk your filming setup looks like someone I’d watch who would talk about film. I appreciate it because I do like watching people talk about star wars or marvel, but I also like being trained and deadly. I just enjoy how you talk about things and make it feel like friends talking through their gear. I’m so sick of the “gray man” appearance when the whole idea of a gray man is to be a deadly force in disguise as an everyday man. But you’re a very refreshing creator to come across and I can’t wait to see what else you bring us.
Hey thanks so much, that means a lot! Glad to hear you find these videos to be relatable in a sea of tactical channels lol. Can’t wait to keep bring y’all some more vids!
Occasional updates on the toolcraft bcg would be awesome. There’s pretty much nothing as far as good reviews on those bcg’s besides the ones that say “Oh yeah, this bolt looks good. Should work.” So an actual round count update every now and then would be awesome! Great video!
Agreed on the aimpont v eotech point, for us civis especially battery life is the main concern, durability is not a concern anymore since both these are tanks
Very cool and still practical clone! I'm more of a practical guy, so I went the RIII MK18 complete upper route for a more modern SBR build. I got CompM5 and Eotech 5x on Unity, Peq, 18350 Plhv2, Axon button, and Super 42 H3 buffer/spring. It has a nice consistent 4olock ejection with M855 unsuppressed, and 2oclock when using Sandman K(5.56FHFC) with no fireball. Since the RIII lower does nothing good for me. I just used an Aero M4E1 for the smooth mag well and intergraded trigger guard. Radian safety, and hyperfine eclipse trigger(super light, fast, crips and reliable thanks to the unique 'cam toggle'), and put a Phase 5 lever for the best ambi bolt control(for a righty). It is one of the most practical 5.56 rigs I have, and I agree with your reasoning. I'll take a reliable, compact, and weight-efficient rifle any day. I don't really get the 'short barrels are no good' logic from some keyboard warriors. When training or having fun, which is over 99% of the time it doesn't matter how hard the bullet hits the paper or steel. It doesn't make any sense to not load it with 75-77gr OTM or TMK when staging it for 'real work' when a few dimes to a few bucks are the least of all the concerns. Even for SHTF, you are going to shoot what ammo you have, and more importantly try to stay alive and out of the fight.
i actually hada URGI upper, and changed out the upper receiver for a BCM because of the finish. BCM has flatter finish and it just looks better. The shiny black anodizing looks cheap. BCM makes great parts.
My mk18 i use for home defense is fairly similar to yours other then a heavy colt socom barrel, colt cage code upper receiver, radian ADAC form 1 lower, arisaka 18350 and of course suppressed is life.

Haha for sure, thanks bro. Yeah I think this vibe is a little more relatable 😂
Really been enjoying your videos. Keep up the work and the alg will find you.

Thanks bro! Yeah I keep hearing about that. Would it be just as effective if I eventually got a suppressor for this gun?
@@jamesshoots it would be even more effective with a can.

does your barrel have a 0.070 gas port?@@jamesshoots
@@Frostcrag64 Negative, it is 0.750"!
I like the M16 clone more. Great video and info.
Just found your channel, absolutely love the content.
Thank you!!
Rapidly becoming my favorite channel
Rear sight about to go "weeeeeeeeeee"
First gun is the most memorable gun 👍
Looooooooooove the comp m4s on the shorter builds

Man I just enjoy your videos. Thanks
… MK18 … M4A1 … now you need a MK12 upper!

Watch school of the American rifle (sotar) not necessarily safe buying any brand
Hey for sure, will do!!

Great video enjoyed watching!
Nice video :)
Good informative video, I’ve always wanted a mk18, but I’m a ak guy so I went with zpap 85.
I also prefer the M4s because of the battery placement. Also looks good asf
ive found a 14.5" rifle to be perfect for a "all around carbine" length. thats taken the place of both my 10.5" and 16" set ups
Get a surefire rc2 mounted on 3 prong. It'll change your life.

You will start to see the difference between the two rifles when you start shooting further distances.
Awesome build man. But when you said Aero LPK but have an Elcan on top it hurt my heart a little🤣
😂😂😂😂
ETTS is a great range
Quick question - for the RIS II rail is it the FDE color through Daniel Defense? Or some other color? I love how its almost bronzed.
Hey yeah this is DD’s version of FDE! You’re correct that it’s more of a bronze color. All my RIS II rails have this color
@jamesshoots Thank you! I love your builds - they're all so clean. Keep up the great videos!
Thanks brotha!!

I was like this range looks like ETTS, then I realized it was lol
😂😂😂
M16A4 forever
You say its a BCM upper, but the handguard is Daniel Defense unless BCM makes one like that with the DD bolt up pattern ?
Correct! The actual upper receiver body is BCM, the barrel is Criterion, and the rail is DD.
What barrel and length?
Criterion! AR-15 SBR HYBRID BARREL, CHROME-LINED - 10.5"

This the m4 in mw 2019? ❤
Where do you get the qr code sticker?
Carolina Laserworks!
Is it me, or your rear sight is shaking too much. Loose maybe?
Oh it definitely was lol, I didn’t realize until after i got back from the range. Fortunately it didn’t fly off 🤣
@@jamesshoots Yes. Wouldn't want to lose the expensive rear sight that you never use.
@@Excalibur01 exactly, gotta get my money’s worth at all costs
@@jamesshoots all for the larp
WHy not go with DD on a mk18 clone?
That’s definitely a good option, but this way was a cheaper IIRC, and I wanted the experience of building my own!
@@jamesshoots cost is def a factor!
2:50 Your rear sight is loose! haha
Hahaha I didn’t realize that until I watched it back!
