    Love your videos man, you’re very honest with yourself about your skill level and your experiences as a newer-ish shooter and it’s refreshing to see compared to other UA-camrs. I’ve been looking for a range like yours but it’s a struggle (fuck NJ)

    You can place your support bag on the barricade itself, creating a wider surface area that's a little more stable in which to place your rifle. As far as dialing, MountainsMulletsMerica has a video where he talks about 100 yd practice. He used two dots that when looking through his optic were two mils apart. Essentially it comes down to holding zero for first dot, dialing what ever the distance is to the second, and full sending it. Solid video dude

      Dang I don't know why I never thought of that! Definitely doing this next time.

      @@jamesshoots Its an absolute game changer. Doesn't hurt to know how to do it without the bag in order to know wat right looks like.

    This is my first time seeing the channel and very nice video. They are well done, pleasant, professional, and informative. I've been looking at better ways to practice at shorter ranges. One thing I am working on is getting better at NRA High Power shooting which doesn't allow added supports. I'm not saying high power will translate, but I want to get better at using a sling for support and I'm hoping it makes me a more well rounded shooter. Keep up the great work.

      Hey thanks so much for such a kind comment! Kudos for using the sling - I know that's a great tool and that's something I wanna work on as well.

    Want to get better at shooting long range with short range constraints? Shoot scaled down targets to simulate further distances and shoot a .22 to practice dialing and holds with your optic.

    Ur videos are always very natural, nothing forced upon.. i actually thought u were shooting suppressed when you were laying down.. nice setup..

    I'm more impressed you shoot a quad rail w/o any rail covers 🤔

    I had the same problem with the piggyback so I got a thingiverse file for a rear mounted cheek riser for the b5 stock you’re using. It only covers the back half of the stock so you can still put your head down for lpvo cheek weld. If I find the file I’ll link it here

      Are they paper targets? They look like they are swinging on impact

    • @jamesshoots
      @jamesshoots  3 місяці тому

      @@jonathanmiller5701Correcto, they’re paper targets! It may be the camera absorbing the recoil when I shoot. I have the paper targeted stapled to some leftover cardboard furniture boxes and then use some big clamps you can get from Home Depot for less than a dollar each to hold them onto the wooden planks.
      I did shoot at a steel target from maybe 80yds and that may have moved slightly, but they’re not those swinging types if that makes sense.

    Those down range shots are so sick! Do you account for distance drop off?

    • @CavemanActual11
      @CavemanActual11 3 місяці тому

      If you're zeroed for 100 yds, which is common for longer range shooting, you shouldn't need to account for drop off

    • @jamesshoots
      @jamesshoots  3 місяці тому

      Thanks man! And yeah agreed with Caveman - my scope is dialed in for 100yds and I'm shooting at that distance, so I don't need to in this case.

    Sorry man but none of this is helping you train for long range shooting , shooting at 100 . The only way to get practice for long range shooting is to shoot long range . Shooting at 100 for any experienced shooter is beyond easy with even just a dot. None of this translates to long range shooting sorry

      Practicing fundaments never helps? Removing variables like wind and dope will 100% assist in figuring out how to position and hold the rifle.
      Tell me you don’t actually shoot and train by spewing garbage.

      Inexperienced comment, you have said nothing substantial in your comment. In fact it’s counterproductive to both new shooters and those who are interested in starting.
