    I cant wait till i have the time to find an outdoor range near me. I've only been shooting for a couple months but it was your M4 Block 2 videos that inspired me to get my first gun (a Block 2 clone as well!) and start shooting and I've loved every single minute of it!

      Haha I’m glad you have a rifle now! Great first pick, although I am clearly biased lol. Lol and thanks man, I came from a Canon 77D and have been loving the A7 IV. Wasn’t sure I could justify it, but finally but the bullet and have been loving it.
      I’ve heard pretty killer things about Lumix tbh. One of my favorite UA-camrs used Lumix a tooonnn which inspired me to get my first camera

    Bravo for going out and training in the summer.
    I really enjoy it when not many people are at the range or when everything is suppressed.
    Are you planning to suppress your MK18 and M4A1?

      Thanks man! Yeah it’s hot but I enjoy the calmness lol. And yeah definitely, I’ve signed up for in-stock motivations from Silencer Shop and Capitol Armory. Wanting an RC2!

      @@jamesshoots RC2 is a solid choice, just have to do something about the back pressure and avoid using warcomp(extra loud and carbon lock). H3 and +15% spring may not be good enough.
      Nowadays I would go straight for a CAT WB Inconel for 5.56, it has RC2 level of muzzle suppression, Huxwrx level of ear suppression and close to Huxwrx level of low back pressure. On top of that, its performance is scalable when you go from MK18 to M4, unlike most cans on the market that are tuned for a specific ammo and barrel length.

      @@JohnZ556 Ah this is good to know. Thanks for sharing. I actually have a Warcomp on my M4 :( But right now, just a normal A2 flash hider on my MK18. Would you say it is worth the upgrade to the 4-prong, or something like that?
      I've heard about tuning the buffer weights - will need to do that too.

    • @JohnZ556
      @JohnZ556 2 місяці тому

      @@jamesshoots If you gonna stick to the RC2 plan, definitely use 3 or 4-prongs for way better suppression than warcomp. Those open tined FH also allows you use the RC3 without throwing flames.
      But again, since the newest RC3 is a big overpriced let down despite took decade to update, and you're likely gonna replace that warcomp. This is your final chance to avoid SF cans all together.
      I would recommend you look into Huxwrx or even better CAT WB. Those require little to no tuning, and will shoot more smoothly, less gas to the face than Surefire.
      Adding buffer and spring are downstream fixes, it can only correct so much. Your MK18 might end up jump like a blowback PCC instead of running like a smooth AR.
      Speaking from my first hand experience, the choice of suppressor can make a huge difference especially on MK18, and your carbine gassed M4 clone is also going to suffer from back pressure quite a bit.

      @@jamesshoots Bootleg adjustable bcg will help with the gas pressure. As far as your pin and weld, are you handy with a grinder? If you are they're super easy to remove but you might damage your warcomp in the process. You could have a gunsmith do it for ya, won't cost that much. OR, just have the gunsmith remove it and sbr the lower. Makes life easier tbh.

    How does it feel handling the rifle with a mpvo? Are you able to c clamp comfortably? I’m having a hard time deciding on mpvo or lpvo with an offset dot.

    • @jamesshoots
      @jamesshoots  25 днів тому

      Hey, the C Clamp isn’t bad at all; but since the MPVO is much longer than any of my other optics, it does make me have to place my support hand just a tiny bit closer to the muzzle than I did when I just had a red dot on this gun.
      I think the bigger change is the ability to grip the charging handle. Absolutely doable, but it takes *that much* more coordination since the MPVO does get in the way slightly. A cantilever mount will help push the MPVO forward, but I already have that on here.
      But yes, the C Clamp is still very comfortable and not an issue!

    They won't let you drive down to the end of the bay to check your targets? So do they make you call a cold range(if others are present) every time someone needs to walk down to check their targets? That'd really piss me off if that was the case at my range. My range obviously requires a cold range but they let us drive down there.
    Also, to use the 500m at my range they have a piece of steel at 200(just an ordinary steel gong) and all you have to do is ring that steel twice. The requirement to have a 2" group at 200 is actually pretty restrictive. That means you have to have a rifle that is capable of 1moa accuracy AND a shooter that is capable of 1moa. There are a LOT of rifles on the market that are sold as high end rifles that will struggle to obtain that kind of accuracy consistently despite manufacturers claiming every damn rifle on the market is "SUB MOA WITH 77GR!!!1". Granted, it's only a 5 shot group so that's pretty easy to "cheat" or even just get lucky. I'm curious, do they even really enforce it? Or could you just take them a target and say "here ya go, 2" at 200 with 5 shots!"
    Cuz I mean otherwise the challenge isn't 2" with 5 shots at 200, it's 2" with 5 shots *on demand* under supervision from an RO. That's different, ya know? I like my gun club's method. It verifies your optic is zeroed and then the rest is on you. There is typically an RO on the 500m so if you're mag dumping and missing left and right even though you hit twice on the 200m steel they can still tell you to stop but they'll let any member become an R.O if they take the class.
    Last thing I'll say--200 really shouldn't require any holds for most zeroes. Should be basically a dead on hold.

    • @jamesshoots
      @jamesshoots  Місяць тому

      Haha tbh I just don’t drive all the way down there because I’m too lazy to start my car up each time. Parking where I do at the range also tells others that the bay is occupied so it avoids me having to constantly tell people I’m using it lol
      Ahh I see about the groups! Well, I’ll do what I can lol. They make you actually shoot on demand vs bring a target they haven’t seen you shoot. I like your range’s method more lol
