This is a 1973 Volvo 144 deluxe with b20 engine and it has been sitting for a while in belgium before my friend robin bought the car. It really was leaking pretty bad the last months so it was time to remove the m40 gearbox from the b20, remove the clutch and flywheel and replace the seal for a better more durable option I hope this video can help some of you fellow volvo owners to fix the seal...

Getting our new project car driving again
Excellent vid buddy, love the Amazon Volvo's. I had a 122s Automatic (1966). I purchased the car in 1980 and enjoyed it for a few years before I fell upon hard times and I had to sell it 😢.
Thank you. Well explained. ❤
Most impressive new workshop and facilities, cheers.
Very nice new shop. Look forward to the Amazon project being continued there. Best wishes!
How do you write the name of the city you are located in ?
Alphen aan den rijn 👌
🎉🎊A huge congratulations on your new shop 🎊🎉 Wonderful to see how you are making it your own, very cool clock by the way, and a great color scheme🤗. I only have one small suggestion for you, if your shelves are higher than you, (so you don’t whack your head), please add a couple of planks on top, running from the back wall towards the shelfs by the door. It will make the whole thing so much more secure. (Safety first🤗)
Thanks! 😄 About the shelves, you mean so they can't fall over or something?
@@RollinHeritage yes, it almost happened to a friend of mine, autoparts are heavy😵💫
Hahaha yeah, i have the whole row screwed into the wall with big 8cm long screws. All the heavy parts are on the bottom and i need to put the X brace on the backs to make them un-collapsable 😅🤣 thanks for telling me!
The new shop is great, I cant wait to see the work you'll be doing there!
Thanks! I really hope i can help many customers with maintaining their classic cars 😄
Air compressors don't need to be on the floor, stick it up on the wall 2-3m up gives you space for a workbench.
True, but i have bought a 250L Kaeser brand new. I'm not putting a 200Kilo compressor worth €5600,- up on a plateau 😅😂 i will see how big it is when it gets here. In the spot i made for it right now it wouldn't be in a bad spot for me 😁
5600 for a compressor?!? Dang!!!!
Kaeser is the most expensive brand here i found out later 😅🤣 but the quality is there they say so if it survives 20 years of sandblasting and other tough stuff i'm okay with that price. My Airpress broke down every week and i'm so done with cheap stuff..
And i got the €1300,- noise canceling box on top so thats what is making it so expensive haha
That fits perfectly indeed hehe
Sorry bud, that's not a diode, it is a resistor, is there to deem the switch light when you have the lights on at night, so you have a light helping to locate the switch at dark. Then the resistor gets bypassed when you switch on the hazard and the switch light flashes at full brightness.
The point i was trying to make was clear, the correct words for it not i guess 😅😆 thanks!
No worries mate. Your tutorial is a good help and works fine. Thanks for posting.
I just found your channel. I have watched all the videos on this project. I have enjoyed watching them. I'm impressed with your skills. That's going to be a very nice car when you are done. Good for you
Thank you so much and good to hear that you like it! I need to find some time to get going again. I moved last month to a bigger shop and the amazon has been in the corner since the day we pushed her into the shop 😅 The car needs paint right now and paint means spending big money. And with building my own shop that is a bit difficult right now. I'll try to get some work done as soon as i can!
Ты крутой перец!!! Отличная работа, ты отличный супер мастер! Я только ищу свой Амазон.
Last month I cleansed the PCV for my dad's 940 turbo with an accidental mixture of petrol and diesel, but it worked like a dream! I did notice however that a previous owner has done a flametrap delete, I don't know why, but I also fitted an oil catchcan to eliminate any excessive crankcase pressure as an overkill measure, so I guess and hope it balances itself out.
Seeing the shell all the way back to bare metal then primed is what dreams are made of... Perfect shell to start the rebuild with!
It was crazy to see it for myself. Dreaming of working at this level of doing a rebuild since when i was a little kid. Me watching overhaulin, fantom works, wheeler dealers and kindig kustoms and go on made this dream and right now i'm living it! 😄
Great Work as always! Also, best wishes in the new place!
Exciting!
Nice garage with lift😊 Enough room to store pars an they visible which important to get more enjoyable working proses.
Over the top restauration! 👍🙂👍
Excellent paint preparation given your time restraints, cheers.
Congratulacions for you New shop. Your videos are messing to me. Thank you
Nice work !!! Nice new shop with a lift !!!
Dude I am soo excited for your new shop!! That Amazon is looking fantastic.
Thanks for the video, excellent work, great to see such a big step forward, and I can't wait for the next instalment! I wish I could have this Amazon when it's finished!
Thanks! Not for sale 😜
🤗 😂👍love the fuzzy dice in your missing windshield😂😂😂, great work as always 🤗 so nice to see it out in the sunshine. Congratulations on your new shop, it will be so good for you not having to crawl on the floor all the time. Thank you for the update 👍🤗🤗🤗
👍👍👍!!!
Excellent progress! Glad to see how well things are going. I feel your pain with the orange peel (rough texture) you got with your primer. I had the same, and also runs and sags. I sanded it all smooth and then the final paint coat also had orange peel and a few runs. Oh will, I'll be sanding and buffing and hopefully it will look ok. I think I'm slightly ahead of you in terms of progress, but you managed to get a lot done in this video. Keep up the good work. Tot ziens!
Great succes verry niceeeee
You are doing great work..I have a 122s
🤔 What happened to your uploads? I hope all is okay, and that you are just busy with your new shop🤞
I'm sorry.. i have no time at all to edit right now but i will try to upload as soon as i can. The new shop took so much time.. 😅
Brilliant, the good thing with brush priming you get a great coverage and goes on thicker, was it etching primer?
Fertan epoxy primer
Another fantastic video with some very thorough work performed. This will be a very solid car for many years to come. Sounds like you have a lot of nice quality of life improvements on the horizon as well with the new shop. Best of luck! Need to bring my Amazon back for rework. Apparently the sills were welded on a bit too far towards the rear, creating a gap in the front where rainwater can flow into the cavity. One of the holes for the trim on the rear quarter panel was either welded shut or filled with body filler. It is of course the one closest to the rear door that I have a hard time reaching from the boot. Hopefully something can be done to remedy these issues.
Congrats again on the shop with lift! Exciting.
Looking good, great job. What sander is the little one you are using?
Thanks! It's just a little pneumatic 50mm sander. Many shops sell them 🙂👍🏻
Looking super good. That footwell rust seems pretty familiar, just did almost same repair on my mine amazon, last week.
Amazing video, great progressive. Can't wait to see the new workshop :) I will be purchasing all the panels for my amazon tomorrow, I am so excited apon this journey that has begun, thank you soo much.
If you have instagram or facebook, send me pictures of how it goes!
Ooh my goodness, your arms and shoulders must be killing you after all that work 🫣🫣🫡 Great video update, your perfectionism and willingness to just keep going is really inspiring to see. Can’t wait to see your new shop 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Hahaha yeah my neck and back were not really happy. I can't wait to finaly have a 2 post lift in 2 weeks! I will make a full video of getting the shop, getting it ready and installing everything so i'll do my best! 😄👍🏻
Awesome job. Keep going with it, will be an awesome experience once u get behind the wheel. Fan Sydney, Australia 🇦🇺
Amazing to see that people from all over the world watch me build this car! I love it. Thank you so much for the support 😄👍🏻
There is no end to bodywork...😁
It sure felt like that for the past year 😂
Great progress, I enjoyed watching. I didn't bother to strip and repaint the underside of mine, but did put the first coat of paint on it this week. I have some runs and orange peel, so will deal with that and hopefully soon spray the final coat. So you have some catching up to do. ;)
I'm in no hurry. Roadtrip is canceled to the amazon doesn't need to be ready in 3 months anymore. My shop is priority number one right now. If i make more money the amazon will be done faster. It's that simple 😂👍🏻 Great job on your car, keep going!
This is going to be some Amazon!
You are still doing a brilliant job!
Very nice work! 😎👍👍👍
Thank you! 😄👍🏻
Lekker bezig vriend ❤
Did you use the old gas tank...
Yes, the gas tank that came in the car is perfectly fine except the filler.. the filler is soldered onto the tank and that is cracked. I'll need to fix that weld but then it will go back in the car. No need for a new one when the old one is rustfree inside 😄👍🏻
I have a 1966 122S, I bought 3 years ago in the mountains of West Virginia, 4 door I need to send you some pictures of all the work I've done to it..
I would love to see them! You can mail me them if you like! Mail@Rollinheritage.com
I like giving them Swedish names. My 1992 is Dagmar and her 1990 older brother is Stig.
I am very grateful that you are doing this series, I have purchased myself a 1965 Volvo Amazon and will be doing the whole car too. These tips and the process is very helpful, since I have little to no experience in restoration. Thank you so so much❤️
Thank you for the nice comment! Always good to hear that my video's and work is helpfull to others. You can do it!
@@RollinHeritage Thank you so much. I am so Happy that I have made the choice, not only for the restoration process, but also keeping heritage alive and the history behind this car alive. I got all the papers from the car, to learn my cars first own was the head teacher of a local school here in Denmark. Can’t express my appreciation and feelings of your help❤️
I'd love to bring my 240 to you for som minor (hopefully) rust repair, but it would probably be a 15 hour one way drive..
That sounds like a fun drive though 😂👍🏻
Where are you from?
Congratulations on getting your own shop and opening up for business! Very exciting. I have enjoyed your entire series so far with you and this Amazon. Your work ethic is great - I haven't seen you cut a corner yet on that car. If you and I weren't an ocean apart, I would love to hire you to give my '66 Amazon similar treatment. I do what I can to maintain and preserve her as an amateur mechanic, but your metal work is on another level.
Wow thank you so much 😳
Wonderful news, you are getting yourself a real shop🤗. Love your time lapse, it’s so relaxing and mesmerizing at the same time, watching all that “boring” work, a great way to show it is not always fun, but it has to be done.👍 Can’t wait for your shop update🤗🤗🤗🤗
Thank you so much for this nice comment 🙂 I'm trying to keep fun content coming but sometimes the boring work will earn you more respect than just the fun stuff hahaha. The new shop will be made official hopefully this upcoming week. The real update will take a bit longer but keep subscribed and it will pop up! 😉
