  • This is a 1973 Volvo 144 deluxe with b20 engine and it has been sitting for a while in belgium before my friend robin bought the car.
It really was leaking pretty bad the last months so it was time to remove the m40 gearbox from the b20, remove the clutch and flywheel and replace the seal for a better more durable option
I hope this video can help some of you fellow volvo owners to fix the seal on your car.

You really made it look so easy, just remove this, loosen that and it’s all done 🤗🤗🤗

Enjoyed the video, thanks for taking the time to make it, 'though I'd rather see you making progress on the Amazon. ;) Only thing I would have done differently is to replace the pilot bearing while the flywheel was off. Not too much extra work or expense, and might save having to take it all apart again later if the old bearing starts to drag...... Thanks!

Thanks! Amazon is still under construction and video's will be online soon. But i also want to make more other video's to keep it a bit more versatile. 🙂👍🏻
The pilot bearing was feeling brand new. I always change them if i have them in stock, but since this is my friend robin's car.. he did not order one 😅😂

I didn't know that we can use rear seal with plate from 240 series. And long before I bought "special replaceable unit especially intended for b20". But later only I figured that we can use rear seal even with aluminium plate from later models. Sellers never say about. Here really helpful video was done.😊

B18-B20-B30-B21-B23-B230 and B234 uses the same seal plate and seal., on the B30, the seals are already rubber style.

@@jacquespoirier9071 Yes, but rear rubber seal with aluminum plate selling as "especially modified for b18 b20" meanwhile we can use it from b23 b230 as you say. And we can find it more cheap or just for nothing from junk.

They CAN use the same plate and seal. Clearly the b18 and b20's use the old felt seal. But yes. You can swap them for a plate from a b230 or b23 or b200 and go on.

@@RollinHeritage Yes, thanks! But really strange that sellers never say that we can do so. They selling modified kits💰 for B18 and B20 and never saying that we can swapping seals from b230. Maybe they don't know like me before 🤔and a lot of guys who want to upgrade or just stop leakage from rear seal.
