Sanding the roof showed weird rust spots! How are we going to fix this problem?

Very interresting project. Your car seem to be in a very reasonnable shape for a good restoration.
I have a similar project going on... A barn find Volvo 122s (Amazon) 4 doors that i was able to buy for cheap. It was always stored in a dry barn on a concrete floor and the owner drove it a few times every summer. Zero mechanical issues on that car. Only esthetics and normal wear to take care of... I am located in Québec province, Canada. In the seventies i owned 3 of these cars and i loved them... I am very happy that i foud one in great shape, very solid, 100% original with no bodywork ever done on it... I want to put it back as good as it was when it came out of factory.

The front window frame of my Amazon is perfect without any rust, but water leaked into the car, so I bought a new rubber seal thinking this is enough pliable to seal up pretty good, like hell, continued to leak so finally I went around with a body sealing material from outside (hardly visible) and not a drop of rain water now and ever since at least 7-8 years!!!

It's very common on classic cars that window seals do not seal the window fully.. the aston martin's i work on have trouble with leaks to but hey, no one is driving a €300.000 AM in the rain 🤣
I will see what to do on my windows but i will probably seal them with some sikaflex too, just to be safe 👍🏻

Normally the cars of pre zinc body period rusted more on the left/driver's side as they were much more exposed there for both summer, but maybe especially winter slush spray while meeting other vehicles on the roads/highways, the same effect while parked on the streets with other cars passing by...

Yeah that is what i was talking about with a collegue of mine last week. But it's weird to have roof damage and have no doors and go on damaged The roof is all spotted with those rust marks and the trunk is completely fine. No rust at all. It's just the front of the hood, wich can be rock chips. And mostly the left side of the roof 😕

Thanks! No those are OZ Fittipaldi's you never see those 😁👍🏻 5x108 and ET25 so they fit without spacers. Pretty happy i found them 👍🏻
