    Cheer up. Sometimes you just have to walk away from a project for awhile, then go back to it later with a refreshed mind and more positive attitude. My Amazon project has hit such a plateau too, and I went off and did something else for a few days. Back to it later this morning though!

      The day i painted those fenders was on a monday after working around 15 days straight. Both on my own car and the aston martin's i restore at work. I Painted them at around 7 in the evening at 28° celcius outside temp, so it was pretty hot and i was super tired.
      Looking back, that is never smart. Painting stuff when you are already done for the day. But well, the amazon needs to be done as soon as possible so i can open up my own shop. 😁👍 it will all be worth it!

    Gutting about the paint runs but at least you have an idea what caused it. I look forward to every Amazon video and can't wait to see you finish it. It may be disheartening but honestly what you've achieved so far is incredible. Errors aren't so bad as long as you learn from them. Looking forward to the next installment

    Best to get rid of stone chip and other rust pors is a point sandblast gun (doesn't cost much), that guarantees rust free surface, as well as its much easier and gentler to the sheet metal than trying sanding out the rust spots, thining out the metal, I always use that....

    • @RollinHeritage
      @RollinHeritage  11 місяців тому

      If you use that, you also know how much of a mess it makes. By just sanding the metal with 240 grid you don't thin it out. I'm very aware that sandblasting or an acid bath is the go-to way. It's what i would do for customers and such. But sadly, my budget is not big at all. I don't have the money to have the full car blasted. So i'm doing the max possible in my budget. 😁

      @@RollinHeritagewith the spot blasting gun come I think 3 or four differently shaped rubber mouthpieces with about 1,5 cm openings for the actual sand stream coming out, one straight and the others in different angles, which means when you press the gun against the spot and start blasting, nothing comes out at sides and yet the sand stream inside is sucked back again, so clean around you, very handy tool for small rust spots, I once sandblasted a whole floor (on the inside) on my '62 AR, centimeter by centimeter, I think it took me a week, but came out real clean 😄🧐🤔
      Before these price ups lately, it costed around 10 euro, now maybe 15....and its of course operated by pressured air...

      @@conceptalfa that doesn't sound bad. What brand and type of gun do you have for that?

      I see they've changed for a newer and more expensive model now, approx 23 euro, but works on the same principal....

    Why don't you paint outside when with just a primer, no wind and summer temperatures???
    There's no risk for anything and you skip all of that trouble you had in connection with that....

      If you wach the video's you can see that i'm at an upper floor in a building with 60 separate garages. I can't do anything outside my shop, let alone paint a car. In the dutch weather, we have much dirt and debry in the air so painting inside mt shop is the safe choice 😁👍

      Hahaha allright.
      I'm trying my best in the shop i have. It's 10 meters long by 3.50 wide so not super big. The door can close with maybe 30cm to spare with the amazon and 245 in there 😅...
      I'm bussy with trying to get something bigger but over here in the netherlands even a shop that's 10x6 meters costs 200.000 euro's..
      I wish things were different but for now this is what i have to work with.. 🤷‍♂️
