    Something I've always loved about the Volvo community is how open and friendly everyone is. See an old Volvo some where? You are obligated to park next to it!

      You have two types of people driving old volvo's
      - The person that waves like a maniac to another 240 or something driving past.
      - The old guy in the other random 240 who looks at you like ''what is he doing''

    I believe that this video is not included in your amazing playlist of the restoration but I'm not 100% sure. What I can tell you is that there are 24 parts out but only 23 in the playlist. This is not meant to be an insult or anything just a heads up. Love your videos and am looking forward to receiving my driver's license next year and purchasing a Volvo Amazon of my own. Your content inspires me a lot to work on project cars with my brother in the future. I don't plan on getting into a career as a mechanic, but I still want to work on many old cars and your content breaks that process up into more easily understandable steps. You've broken the ice for me and taught me a few tips tricks along the way, thank you so much for this great piece of media.

    Ah, so enjoyable body work with old car! It so fascinating just from beginning! But just lesson for guys start body work only if you're ready and able go to finish. I like b20 and b18 engines the best engines ever made!

      i love doing body work. Learned it fully on my own when welding my 245. Wich also will be worked on as soon as the amazon is finished. it takes so much patience but it is so rewarding when the panels are in!

      hahah thanks! i do feel more rested than other holidays i've had. Not driving 5000km in 3 weeks time like the roadtrip from last year was a good choice. :)

    Glad to have you back at work on the Amazon bodywork. Hope you enjoyed yourself on vacation, ate a lot of paella, and are ready to finish this project. I'm at about the stage you're at - rust repairs are done, just sanding the entire body prior to spraying on primer/surfacer and doing more sanding. My wife says we have to go off on vacation next week, so my Amazon will just be gathering dust not of my making. I like that Volvo 544 at the beginning of the segment. One like that would be a great project too.

    I think that you have a good Volvo dealer in central Holland?

    I've a pretty strong ticking sound from the valves on my B20, 1969 Amazon (same as yours) as well as have no idea when the parts like camshaft, tappets, push rods etc have been serviced or possibly changed out last (not during my 10 year ownership anyway), so I guess they might be worn out a bit, on the other hand I drive the Amazon max 500 km/year, would it be ok to reduce the stated 0,40 play when everything new to maybe 0,30 or even 0,25?

    • @RollinHeritage
      @RollinHeritage  10 місяців тому

      I always recommend using the specs that volvo told us back in the day. But ticking noises are kind off normal i guess on older engines. I hear people complain a lot about b230 and b200 240 engines ticking around but every single one i know has it. Even when all the valves are adjusted including the new hushers and valve seals..
      I don't know what kind of oil you are using? 20w50?

    • @conceptalfa
      @conceptalfa 10 місяців тому +2

      @@RollinHeritage Shell mineral 10-40....
      I'm aware of ticking valves is normal, but I still don't like that sound...🧐🤔
      P.S.
      I've also heard B18 and B20 that sound like RR or Mercedes, veeeery smooth....

    • @RollinHeritage
      @RollinHeritage  10 місяців тому

      @@conceptalfa i recomend 20w50 for a b20. Even my rebuild one runs that. It's way thicker than 10w40. Even my b200k from my daily driver 244 runs 15w40.
      The Engines are getting older so a nice thick mineral oil will work perfectly for some of the worn parts inside the engine. 10w40 is a pretty thin oil for old engines like this.
      You can always try it. Mine was pretty nice sound wise when i was daily driving the amazon. 😄
