Transparent Davies knobs. The Korg originals light up too, but you can’t easily see the pointer.

I should really use other sequence lengths, but I like five steps- and there’s no gate sequencer at this end of the studio to drag me back towards 4/4…

@@walrtbstudios5430 personally I think you should get rid of the craftsynth in favour of a Kobol expander or a k2, although i dont acually have a k2 yet myself, but its certainly on my wish list. Behringer are really knocking things out of the ball park when it comes to analog synths at the moment, and im hoping they might do a kobol with a keyboard that i can use with my expander.

Nice patch! I'm also a user of the tiptop buchla modules. I take it you mean you like the rhythmic uniqueness of an odd number of steps (I also like that) but if you want to get a longer sequence the doepfer a151 sequential is a nice module to pair with the 245t. It allows you to merge and then cycle through each output of the sequencer, so you can have a sequence up to 20 steps.

@@user-ry5zn3np8jIt’s hard to see in the glare, but there’s a NE Vice Virga immediately to the left of the 245t that is-imho- a better sequential switch than the Doepfer (I have both). It doesn’t always get patched though- this is far from the first modular piece I’ve done in 5/4!

I went back to this patch after posting this video and found that the Plaits engine’s hats algorithm was a better bet for glitch than the snare. Funny that…

Chalk and cheese. Mojave is a real-time granular processor with pitch-shifting options, while the Morphagene is a self-contained tape and microsound machine. Fwiw I would never part with the Morphagene- but have just sold the Mojave. Go figure.

@@walrtbstudios5430 So something like Morphagene into something like Clouds would be pretty insane from what I’m gathering ? Get it stated in morphagene and ‘go from there’ ?

I’ve managed to get the hang of ‘load’, but a lot of the time with loops and pieces of sound I’ve recorded elsewhere I manage them on the iPad (iOS has the fantastic Files app, which makes file management easy) then transfer them to Lubadh’s usb drive. It’s a pity I have to unmount the module to do so; I suppose I could try and grab one of the ‘front loader’ add-ons. But if I ever get used to saving stuff I’ll do another video…

Legal issues, and ability. That said, I do have the full 1963 version as a Morphagene reel (it only just fits inside 2’57”!) courtesy of my son who Knows These Things.

David Bennett Piano (my go-to for music theory arcana) reckons there’s little or no difference between 9/4 and 9/8 unless you’re actually scoring it. Personally, I think it’s important to shop elsewhere than 4/4- a single-tempo diet can’t be good for you…

What it really needs is suitably thuggish drums. I’ve saved the patch and photographed the settings, so maybe tomorrow…

@@kentaccordionist 256. It doesn’t save the knob settings, just the routings- but if I had used the internal sequencer rather than the SQ-1 here it would have saved the sequence(s) too.
