just a thought, if you’ve got the torch handy, I’d go ahead and heat all of them before even trying, even just a little bit of heat might help make it easier. I know I’m mister obvious. Great video and advice.

Atf/ Acetone. Then use a Mapp gas torch. Forget working those bolts back and forth.

I have been terrified and almost phobic about continuing to remove the exhaust header bolts from my 76" Dodge Powerwagon 440 - so I can remove my starter,.. Now you've taught me enough to feel fairly confident to continue. These bolts haven't been touched since I installed the Doug Thorley headers 25years ago. I always inspect new and old parts when I'm at work for these exact kind of mistakes ( automotive work ) I'm guilty myself on this one but that was about 20 years ago lol

I learned another trick when working on heavy equipment. Heat the bolt red hot with a acetylene torch, the pour ice water on it till cool. The sudden contraction causes it to break loose. That eas was our method to remove the lock pin on bulldozer tracks. Worked everytime! Ive used this method on many frozen bolts, nuts, etc... for my whole life, its a amazing trick!

I bought a Vmac g30 after seeing all your videos on it. It’s a giant paper weight. Compressor sheared at the main pully at 7 hours. Warrantied the pump. Main seal leaks like a siv at 11 hours. Vmac is garbage!!!! Harbor Freight never let me down like them

It's called a double gasket. It's common for nubes! I've never done it. I'm too good of a mechanic.

I sell parts at a GM dealership and I sold a man a filter for his diesel the other day. He called back saying it was wrong filter, it screwed on but oil was blowing everywhere. He had left the old seal on the truck.

I would hope that every legit mechanic knows that you have to check for a double o ring. If your mechanic doesn't know that you need to get a new one.

If you're changing oil in something and you need this advice you probably shouldn't be changing oil

Great, now I have a new nightmare. In all the years I've changed my own oil, I've never once ever considered this a possiblity or thought of it happening to one of my cars or trucks.

Did an oil change on a car, couldn't figure out why the filter wouldn't screw on. Rubber ring was stuck on, not same as big diesel motor where there are gallons of oil at risk, but it happens.

Did that once on my f150.

Put the drain plug in before putting the oil in!

Please drop the belly pan and power wash that thing out.

Happened on my Ram 3500 except when I went to tighten the filter I noticed I didn't turn it that much before it started getting tight. So, I took it off and found the other gasket. I work slow so I don't mess up

Never done it because I always clean my sealing surface before installing my new filter

Wonder what it will take for US diesel manufacturers to follow Scandinavian steps and make diesel engines that don't have a DPF and still meet Tier 4 Final emissions.
