Good to see another video from you. I miss the great videos that you and Chuckee use to make together.
Place your parts in plastic bags with cleaner of choice. Place in parts cleaner. Add water to submerge all parts. Turn on. This way you won't have to constantly clean the washer.
there are Commercial versions of that cleaning Vat. I used to have one that holds 6 gallons of water, I used Simple Green most of the time, mine was made back in the 50s so all it had was a timer and a Rheostat for heat control.
I used to work for a medical device manufacturer that made sonic washers (and autoclaves, low temp sterilization, surgical tables and light, OR integration equipment, etc.). They didn't make small countertop sonic washers like what you have, they were HUGE. The big ones do a much better job. Also, water will always work better, because the frequency of the sonic washer is tuned to resonate in water. Using a liquid with a different specific gravity will not work as efficiently. Water and a little surfactant, soap, or degreaser will be just fine. In a unit that small, just a few tablespoons will do the trick. If you use soap, use a little laundry or dishwasher detergent, it won't suds up.
And glad to see you back on the Tubes!
Life is back to normal when I have a Stephen Cox video to watch. Keep it up, you were always my favorite channel, then Chuckster.
simple green in the water works good especially when hot. The collapsing cavitation bubbles may be much more violent in tapwater vs blue water.
I have a bigger vevor unit that I use to clean pneumatic tools before reassembling with the new parts they need. Found that simple green and jungle jake work really well. The unit started shutting down recently and giving an error code when getting up to temperature, the computer biscuit fan that cools it died. It was an easy job to replace it with one i scavanged off a disused unit. My shop isn't the cleanest and after running the fan continuously for two years it didn't surprise me that the fan died. Also if your switch breaks, it can be directly wired in and the heat control on the unit will power it on and off, however the biscuit fan will run continuously.
Ultra sonic works good with purple power
Try Simple Green.
I have the larger one from Vevor and love it!
Cheers, Gary
Happy to hear from you Gary!
Royal purple works too
Any updates on smoking Sally
So what kinda solvent should I use for pew machines?
Degreaser and water worked best
I have heard it's best to use distilled water. Just wondering if that's necessary.
I keep a blue can of H20 in my service truck with a siphon gun lol

$130 for like a 2 gallon cleaner is not bad at all.
There's a reason they say not to put solvents or petrochemicals in the washer - the ultrasonic will atomize the liquid, and that stuff when atomized can go boom. Boom is bad.

I think you're buddy from the blacksmithing video, had custom made his own. If you're interested in one big enough for heads.
Yeah, that Justin fella UA-camr from the Good of the Land, (that used to post regularly!), made a Big UltraSonic tub thingy, that'd blast even Rust off of buried tractor parts n'such! Get the Ol' Sparky welder box & torch out & faberkate yer own tub big enuf to fit the biggest cyl head or block that you repair!
It great to see you back on YT, brother! Peace & blessings to you. 👍
I met you at the dmv and I couldn’t believe I did haha ! glad to see you back at it good stuff man !
Great to see another video from you Stephen - good review - was the Tres Hombres Tequila or whiskey? - thanks buddy - cheers
Fuel injectors?
Your a little late to the party!
Finaly back! Nice video.
It's awsome is an amazing cleaning product I use it alot and have always had great success
Steven try using Liquid WD40, works incredibly well, if you have small parts put them in a plastic ziploc bag with a little bit of wd40 works really well!
I know this is off topic and it’s also a lot to read but I’m looking for your opinion on something Stephen! I’m a resident heavy duty field mechanic for a pipeline outfit and I have the opportunity to get an extra 15 an hour for rig pay so I’m purchasing my own, how well do you like your v10? I’m stuck between two f450s one is a v10 the other a stock 06 6.0. The v10 had 275000 and 6.0 is 100000. I have a good amount of side work and the truck will literally pay for itself and than some but I won’t be able to afford much down time for major repairs, the service body on the 6.0 is in better shape but it’s only 2 wheel drive single cab, the v10 is 4x4 and crew cab. Fuel mileage isn’t an issue as it’ll be on the company’s dime. If you were in my shoes which one would you go for? Thanks and love the videos !
If I had to make the choice I'd go with the v10. Mine is about to roll over 400k miles and has been a great engine. And it's cheap to maintain. I just checked prices and I can get entire long block v10 rebuilt and ready to ship for $4k. I 6.0 runs $8k and that doesn't include injectors or turbo.
@@StephenCox. thanks for the reply!! I honestly was thinking the same just on it being 4x4 and some of the slop we have to work in!! I appreciate your advice and look forward to more videos!!
I use that same cleaner in my High School small engine class. Works great for a lot of deep funk parts we recycle and re-use.
