BlueDriver for the win. Alot more expensive but worth it.
I use the dr Prius app on my iPhone because I fix Prius batteries for a living and it works wonders on all cars
Nice but my 91 Chevy still obd1 lol paper clip and service book tells me what up. Nice to still be on olden days lol
I have had this happen more than once. get a misfire on one cylinder and the problem on one of the other. Last one was gm 4.3 injector #4 stopped working and reported misfire on cylinder #6. I have been using an ELM 327 and torque pro for at least 10 years and it always works.
It’s $13.99 with the link you provided
Thanks again man for the truth!
Got to love easy repairs. I don’t know if told you about the service call I had for a dodge charger not charging battery. Long story short the dealership replaced the alternator and forgot to install the one main wire.
Coils can die instantly when they can't discharge, the energy will find its own path to ground, so if it works after you plugged it in that is no guarantee it will tomorrow.
Good stuff, I have had the same OBD adapter for years.👍
Steve put up more videos I used to watch you all the time I’m sure it was profitable then and could be still
I've given these away as well. Especially when a relative or friend begs me to lend them one of my scanners...
No 2 on the app is probably 2nd cylinder in the firing order?
Torque Pro is a great and very affordable offering, I'm using the OBD MX+ with my 1/2 ram diesel and Alpha OBD software and it has saved me a ton, plus made my little diesel run and live a lot better, EOA's are coming back greater than they had ever been👍 also added a cheap lenova tablet to monitor PID's mainly transmission, EGT's and oil/water temp
I bought an ELM 327 several years ago. At that time I could not find an IPhone app that it worked with it that was as polished as Torque Pro.
Great video as usual! Thanks for the info!
Another great video/info! New subscriber, and I'm going to get you at least a couple more! Thanks again!
Thanks for sharing , another good job done 👍
Does this device give more information than the very basic code readers available for under fifty bucks at places like Wal-Mart and Harbor Freight?
I have the exact same setup and I've been running it for five-and-a-half years now and I've had no problems out of the system whatsoever I've changed Android phones multiple times I have sold the dongle to multiple customers everyone I've ever dealt dealt with it is happily satisfied with it yes buy it buy from him buy it now by and put it on you to put it on your phone you have to buy it once and if you get it on your phone and I have it on my wife's phone I have a couple other systems where I have them on my work phone on my tablet it is an awesome app I love it I use it all the time
What is the transmission temperature u don’t like?
Got a similar one. It's good to keep with if you drive an older vehicle. Let's you know if you can wait till you get home or should you pull over and call a tow truck to prevent doing more damage to vehicle.
The only reason a mechanic would not want you to have one.. is because they will clear the codes they have and then wonder why the mechanic cannot fix it right then... or they will blast the parts cannon at the car based on the codes and cause more problems than they help... It is great for those who know what they are doing with it.
Be careful with "leaving it plugged in" to your vehicles. I'm guessing some cars (in my case a 2002 Honda Accord) sends live 12v to the OBD2 port and anytime I'd leave it plugged in for an extended period of time, it would drain my battery (there's an LED or two on the adapter).
Exactly. The OBD II port is meant to diagnose issues with your truck. It is not meant to have any scanners left in all the time.
Thatd make you a nice truck, work something out. 👍

Oil cap is on upside down. Flip 'er over and she'll be right as rain.
Do you or anyone else know of one that reads GM Stabilitrak codes? Wifes Tahoe keeps popping one and I really dont want to pay $100 to have a Tech II tool plugged into it. Love those cheap bluetooth ones for quick diagnosis and Torque
Hi Steve, Have you had experience of an F250 7.3 1997 with the VSS on the back axle not shifting with it pugged in and shifting with it unplugged?? VSS voltage 350mV which seems very low and it is new but aftermarket. Could it need an OEM part?
So this is where you have been hiding!! sub'd
Thanks Stephen, it was my understanding that you should not leave the obd reader plugged into the port full-time…myth? Cheers
I've left mine plugged in for years with zero issues. I'm not sure why leaving one plugged in would cause any issues.
question,,,,,,, can the apt do injector balance test and engine compression test for ford diesel trucks? and is it always 1234 on the passenger side for ford v8?
No, it's not bidirectional. Although I've heard that there is a couple apps out there that use the elm327 and are bidirectional.
I love your channel ive bought other stuff from other youtubers that ended up being junk do you truly back this?
Yes I do.
Real men smell the codes.
Lmao 🤣
so it gave a #2 code for a #8 ? did i miss something
No, you didn't miss anything. After I finished the video I went on a test drive and had a misfire around 1500rpm. Pulled on the rest of the plug wires and #2 wire wasn't connected. There's 3 plugs per cylinder so the wire not connected to #8 didn't cause a miss. I did a tune up and everything's working great now.
👍💪
Hey I got a question when a code says it’s pending does that mean it’s from a previous time the code popped up or is it a code that’s current and needs to be addressed?
Depends on what code it is. I usually clear the code and test to see if it comes back. But things like emissions related codes can take a while before the computer tests that particular system again.
Hey thanks for the info it’s for the pesky 0420 and basically it’s the cat not clogged but not clean I’m assuming since it’s an 05 Buick lesabre 18 yr old cat lol
Will it work with diesel engine?
Yes it will. I've used it on a ton of powerstrokes.
@@StephenCox. Thanks
Is there a monthly charge to use the app
Nope. It's a one time $5 and you can install it on any device you have your Google account on
@@StephenCox. thanks
does the torque work on gm? or all makes?
Yes, it does
From what I understand is all makes and models, as long as it's OBDII
Works great on GM.
Stephen was the first I've seen use it on a Ford😅
Yea....it's a Super Duty. Lol
You must have had Powerstroke on your mind....
