Why don't people ever talk about CRIME when investing in SE Michigan? I saw an amazing $123K house near Chalmers and Jefferson. I do a Crime Spot search on it, 3 SHOOTINGS in the area in this month alone! With several incidents of theft, burglary and vandalism. When someone says "these are the areas to invest in" - I'd hope they talk about the risk to safety. Also are you renting to Section 8? Will your tenants destroy your house?
my old house is in this video 🤣

What about Dearborn
the southwest I-94 freeway is where you see the giant Detroit sign. in addition southwest takes you directly to corktown and downtown. u can also see both bridges to canada. in my opinion the best area of Detroit 💯❤️🔥
Hey how is the collage park area in Detroit like is it a good pace to buy a home. Low crime safe
Hi ed. I’m currently visiting the Roseville/Fraser Mi area from long Island NY. I had a few days here to soak up local culture and try to get a sense of where I would like to live. I have a very close friend in the area so I wouldn’t want to live too far. I do really like the idea of the Sterling Heights area- However I am just considering one bdroom or studio apartment options bc it would just be me living here. I have simple tastes and just want something relatively safe, with a lot to do and explore, parks and nature trails, but also I would like good job opportunities that are not manufacturing related- I currently work as a custom paint mixer for a local company for contractors and home owners remodeling their homes or commercial spaces. However I’ve done several other types of jobs in distribution centers/warehouses and grocery stores. I am persuing certifications in web development but im just starting that journey and looking to learn and grow in that field. Please reach out with any information you think might be helpful - thank you again for your informative video
Ed how accepting is Birmingham of people of color like us? Should I be worried before making the move?
This looks great 😊
Yes - I’d love to hear more interesting facts about Detroit. Thanks for taking the time and making worthwhile videos.
My birthday is May 5. Southwest is a great time every year.
Let's not forget the salt. The salt tears up our roads
Every big city goes through tough time, part of being a big city. Detroit's just a shithole.
Nice explanation !
Yeah, I’m from Orlando and I invest in Detroit. Please contact me if you find any good deals for flips.
I love your content Ed. It's always really positive.
I live here and have dated every race. It isn't a town if you are racist. We get a decent amount of people from other areas of the globe so much so that while I was younger I learned from British people as to which city or region of the isle they are from based on accent. I got so good they often asked me if I was from there not believing an American could have picked that up.
Looking forward to your next episodes on this topic!! Thanks so much.
Ed - Just discovered your channel and LOVE your informative content. Keep it coming! I’m also sharing your business info with others who are interested in relocating tonDetroit. Best wishes!
I'm from Anaheim, currently live in Dallas, and planning on moving to Detroit, so this was helpful! The Cons didn't scare me, but definitely helped me in the planning.
Deathroit😂
This home is beautiful 😍
Great information!
I’m moving to Detroit if the police department accepts my application.
Maybe they like being around Muslims.
Detroit pays their city workers and then taxes them to hell. Don't expect the best out of the city workers. They works 95 to 120 hours every 2 weeks just to get taxed to hell in the city. This includes fire, police, trash, landscaping, ems. If you call the police expect a 2 hour wait. Things haven't changed.
Detroit does not have any nice areas.
@@MajidMagi-fj5ux 2010 called and they want their joke back 😏
Trying to move this year. Im from Miami, where I love, love larger cities less conservatives, and want to move where the planet will last thru climate change. How does Detroit compare for folks like me ?😂
Anton Daniel did a video from inside the building. Looks nice. But for $2k for those studios is a bit much. I’ve noticed a lot of new apartments being built nowadays use cheap materials for the interiors. Cheap cabinets and countertops. Fridge won’t even have a water/dispenser. Just cost cutting all around and charging an arm and a leg
That unit is next to a vacant house that is regularly vandalized. Crime is high and it’s very congested during games and concerts. There is usually no street parking on that block so that one car garage is it. Definitely a move at your own risk. Also that unit was built in 2022 and the owner is already selling it. Maybe you should chat with neighbors when doing reviews. It’s very misleading.
@@twinklegallery Dont shoot the messenger, im just giving a house tour of one part of the city that i personally love. Sorry you don’t feel the same, but there is nothing misleading in the video. Everything isn’t for everybody, so it sounds like this wouldn’t be for you and that’s totally fine.
@@EdButlerDetroit I recently moved from directly across the street. My car was even in the video. I witnessed that development built over the past 4 years and also watched most of the owners move and either resell or lease. Again the crime is high and despite the new construction and recent development it is a challenging place to live. I notice as you walked you didn’t show the huge vacant house directly next door. Also the 2 beds started at $800k and up, studio was $700k. You did a great job, the video definitely is convincing, just not the reality.
@@twinklegallery Gotcha, and to have that level of context I thought that might be the case. I actually wish I had gotten some shots of the house as I thought it was an architectural beauty, it isn’t your run of the mill vacant home. Inside of 7 years it will probably be renovated and offered on market above the million dollar mark I’d bet. But definitely appreciate you bringing a different perspective to brush park for me, I hadn’t considered it to anything but safe honestly. Hope you enjoy wherever you moved to a little more. 🙏🏾
Mexicans took over everything south of west warren and west of I96 all the way up to the woodmere cemetary, but mexican town is only bagley st from 24th on up to Grand blvd
they went further than woodmere. Lincoln park, river rouge , taylor. practically all down river
You should keep doing this. It’s great.
So detroit is getting new buildings ?
@@LeoRafael8 Oh yeah new new buildings breaking ground every few months it seems.
@@EdButlerDetroit so that means detroit will look like atlanta with a lot of skyscrapers
@@LeoRafael8I hope not, that would be too much. I’m from Detroit and live in atl now. I would say definitely rebuild Detroit but keep its essence because Atlanta really ain’t all that. lol also don’t tell them too much I don’t want everybody moving into my city and messing it up😂😅
I moved away from the D in 1976; things were really sad then. It is really gratifying to see so many great things happening now.
Those community gardens sound great!
They are! Great use for empty lots!
Another great video about Detroit. I'm looking forward to visiting for the first time this week.
@@RelocatetoOmaha Thanks man, I appreciate it. Oh it’s a great week to visit weather wise, and all the hype around our Football game this weekend too!
@@EdButlerDetroit looking forward to it. Thanks Ed.
Good stuff, Ed. Go Lions!
@@VulcanLogic Thank you! Go Lions counting down the days!
@@EdButlerDetroit They blacked out my comments brother
@@Larita334 Really I just got this one?
Grew up in Shelby Twp and moved down to Sterling Heights when starting out because it was cheaper (also great community with so many events and community projects). Moved back to Shelby when I could afford to. Feels more accessible than Rochester and has a more homegrown feel.
I definitely love Rochester, but i'm starting to use Shelby as a substitute in some instances if clients are open to it.
Don’t just rent in Cornerstone Village , live there and come work with me at the hospital up on Moross😃
Tell the people!
Hello, i’m on here curious to see if there are condos that are near the baseball park.
Hello, yes there are, the neighborhood with the most available would be Brush Park which is still a light walk to the ballpark.
Great video! I’m new to this size of the state and becoming a real estate agent, so it’s nice to learn about these neighborhoods I knew nothing about.
Awesome to hear, and welcome!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
???
Abig Thank you 👍
Thank you too for watching!
you're a crook.
It’s cool to see the power brokers in the region finally investing in michigans largest core city, this could have happened 40 years ago but the racial components were too us verses them fueled by El Brooks Patterson, Bill bonds and to some extent Mayor Young. The city should have never been gutted to such extremes well at least the down town region.. Chicago, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Indianapolis with large African American populations didn’t follow Detroits Downtown disinvestment paradigm cause they knew it would be detrimental to there entire metropolitan regions. It is funny how as soon as Detroit got a white mayor, all of a sudden this flood of investment in the downtown became an expanding reality. What is a tragedy for me as a Black man is to see this happening with so little Black folk owning a piece of the so called new Detroit.. what a freaking pathetic sad commentary….there is a lot of blame to go around. We will have to tell our kids, grand kids about how A 80% black population city lost there prime downtown real estate for generations to come if not forever.
Good podcast cuz .fr cuz Arnold!!!
Thanks cuz!
2 Very nice areas that didn't make the list, Virgina Park and Russell Woods.. I live in Russell Woods.. it's a small 4 block area and very homey . We have a jazz concert every year at the park
You know I am starting to come around on Russell woods, its just it can be very hit or miss depending on block.
