Rosedale made the list! Come on out and meet your new neighbors at our Northwest Detroit Farmers Market @ the community house every Thursday from 4 - 8pm.
These are all nice neighborhoods but nothing beats University District/Sherwood Forest/ Palmer Woods and Detroit Golf Neighborhoods. It’s over 2,000 homes and the best collection of housing in Detroit.
Go visit for 2-3 weeks if you can or just visit for a week. Get the feel of it before you decide. I lived in Southern California for 16 years and came to Flint and was in Detroit often so it’s a different experience for sure. Lol
My fiancé was born and raised in Detroit.. He took me to all these areas and ALL are just absolutely GORGEOUS!!! He purchased a home in Grosse Pointe Woods.. And let me tell you, the areas mentioned are truly the “gems” of Detroit…❤️
I live here in the city and know all these neighborhoods but I think you should do this video again or on your next video when you’re mentioning the neighborhood and streets you should add a picture of that area outlined it might help some people that’s not from here get a better idea of where you’re talking about
Ed, thanks for the great video with a bit of history for each area. I grew up on East Grand Blvd back in the late 60's and now, I'm keeping an eye on all the progress in Detroit from along the Gulf Coast of Alabama. Just recently made a vacation visit to Detroit in June and I am so encouraged about the changes and what the future holds.
Sherwood Forest is another fantastic neighborhood. It’s full of historic, sizable homes with diverse neighbors. They are expensive but everyone knows one another & there are almost never any homes for sale because once you’re in, you’re in. P.S. I lived in Rosedale Park & agree w/ what he described there
2 Very nice areas that didn't make the list, Virgina Park and Russell Woods.. I live in Russell Woods.. it's a small 4 block area and very homey . We have a jazz concert every year at the park
Ed - awesome video! It brought back so many fond memories. I attend school at Miller Jr Hight and had one classmate that lived on Iroquois in Indian Village. My aunt lived in Brush Park on Frederick Street. Where would you place Palmer Woods on your list of best Detroit neighborhoods?
That’s super awesome, I think my dad and many of my classmates at King went to Miller as well. I actually place it top 3 but I listed it in one of my other best neighborhoods videos, so I wanted to introduce some others. I’d move to Palmer woods tomorrow if I could haha
Born and raised in Detroit you forgot the u&d community and sherwood forest. My neighborhood growing up was 8mile and evergreen during the 70s,80,90s. My neighborhood was upper middle class graduated from Henry Ford hs,my mothet sold the home in 2003 due to our neighborhood changed.
Thank you for this video. Definitely thinking about relocating. What about condos? Are these areas friendly towards them or are they only built downtown?
Could you name some nice neighborhoods on the Eastside of Detroit? East English Village is a beautiful neighborhood and the homes are not seriously expensive.
Hello Ed, I am interested in Detroit but have never been there. I appreciate you videos, however when you give the neighborhood name and streets, could you pop a map in there? This way I can freeze the video and check out where the neighborhood is. Maybe show the map as you talk, and highlight the streets. Thanks for your videos! My Regards Gwendolyn.
This is cool, but the historic neighborhoods, like Indian Village or Boston-Edison have very little property available. People pass those homes to their children.
Thanks for watching, I’d agree on Indian Village because it’s such a small community, but in Boston Edison almost every month new listings come on market there since it’s one of the largest historic communities in the country.
Which area are you thinking of? As it’s pretty rare not to have a driveway or garage. There are some, but definitely pretty rare, as Detroit was built for people to have cars.
Woah Woah, it’s only a top 5 of my favorites. There are only so many people who can afford to relocate to Palmer Woods that’s why it didn’t make the list. We know it’s the top dog in the city! 🙌🏾
Palmer definitely should have probably edged one of these neighborhoods out but there’s only a few that pop up each year for sale, so it makes it tough to relocate there.

San Francisco,
I'LL ALWAYS LOVE DETROIT ❤
We appreciate the West coast love!

Right. This guy is clearly not from Detroit.
Which one you live in?
Thank you for this list. I’m considering relocating to Detroit from San Diego in a few years..
No problem! Thanks for watching! Well I hope to be a resource in a few years, but I know San Diego is a tough place to leave.
Go visit for 2-3 weeks if you can or just visit for a week. Get the feel of it before you decide. I lived in Southern California for 16 years and came to Flint and was in Detroit often so it’s a different experience for sure. Lol
Don’t venture off from those neighborhoods…you’ve been warned!!!
I love north rosedale park! It's right by my children's school! I'm always staring at the beautiful brick homes!
Gorgeous neighborhood
I was born and raised in Detroit, and I thank you for showing the beautiful neighborhoods in Detroit that are never shown. Thank you ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! Thank you!

Love to hear it! Thank you for your comment! 🙌🏾
I’ve been looking at that 1924 Longfellow that was built in 1924 for some time now . Just manifesting it and then I see it again on your channel 💯
Its a sign!

Definitely will on the next one, should have had my editor do it, as we for sure could use the outline.
Mr Ed , it's so very encouraging to see how Detroit is in a wonderful comeback and I know the mentioned areas are awesome. Keep up the great work.
Thanks, will do! More to come!

Thanks for watching! Glad you could come back and see the progress! Much more to come!
Thanks for sharing. I’m moving back home to Detroit from Dallas.
@@IAmMonicaDenise Come on home! My sister lives there, and has been talking about moving back home too!
Why?
I love your content Ed. It's always really positive.
Great video! I’m new to this size of the state and becoming a real estate agent, so it’s nice to learn about these neighborhoods I knew nothing about.
Awesome to hear, and welcome!

Yes, all of those areas are beautiful! You forgot Palmer Woods and Sherwood Forest.
Appreciate it, they definitely are right up there as well. In retrospect Palmer definitely should have made it.
Wish i could afford any of these neighborhoods. Found ny dream house but in Belmont...
Hey Belmonte is growing and changing too. Congratulations
Good presentation style
Thanks you!
Make a video on East English Village 🎉
Long overdue!
North Rosedale Park houses are beautiful!
Agreed very underrated
Awesome info ❤love it! Thank you ❣️
Glad it was helpful! Thanks
Ed , to the very prepration! my love detroit to the wondering ranks University District, Sherwood Forest, East English Village?
They’re all up there as well, definitely make the top 10 for sure!

There’s an argument to be made for Sherwood for sure, but I just wanted to give a good mix of neighborhoods.
Thank you for this video. Definitely thinking about relocating. What about condos? Are these areas friendly towards them or are they only built downtown?
Thanks for watching! Yea there are definitely nice condos in many of these areas. So you will have options for sure!
Ed. We're is East English village on ur Rankings ?
EEV is honestly my favorite neighborhood because I’m an Eastsider but it’s in the top 10 unbiased.
Wow, I'm about to relocate to Detroit from San Diego in a year or so as well. What the heck is going on?
Small world! Yea you all are not alone. Lots of relocations out of California, and many people look here just for a better financial quality of life
Im moving from Colorado to Lansing MI. I excited about the history and affordable living
Could you name some nice neighborhoods on the Eastside of Detroit? East English Village is a beautiful neighborhood and the homes are not seriously expensive.
Definitely need to make an east side neighborhood video!

Great Vid! 💪🏼
Thanks Pete!
Very nice video.
Thank you very much!

Boundary street of West Village SEYBURN ( not Sieber!!!)
Correct, if you listen you’ll hear me say Seyburn. Seibert was an error from my editor. Good catch though 👍🏾
hey ed im looking for a loft for rent in downtown detroit..
Hey Nic, let’s talk. Edgar@soldbythebutler.com
THE Boston district would be my choice
Largest historical district in the country! Lots to choose from.
I noticed a lot of great houses in this area don’t have driveways. So where would I park my almost $600 insured vehicle lol
Which area are you thinking of? As it’s pretty rare not to have a driveway or garage. There are some, but definitely pretty rare, as Detroit was built for people to have cars.
You can tell he is a Detroiter because he says Bill Isle.
Haha can’t help it
Yeah, I’m from Orlando and I invest in Detroit. Please contact me if you find any good deals for flips.
You forgot Palmer Woods!!!! mansions!!! This guy cannot be from Detroit.
Woah Woah, it’s only a top 5 of my favorites. There are only so many people who can afford to relocate to Palmer Woods that’s why it didn’t make the list. We know it’s the top dog in the city! 🙌🏾
Detroit does not have any nice areas.
@@MajidMagi-fj5ux 2010 called and they want their joke back 😏
No palmer woods? Sherwood forest? Green acres?
Palmer definitely should have probably edged one of these neighborhoods out but there’s only a few that pop up each year for sale, so it makes it tough to relocate there.
