    I lived in the Detroit area from 1984 to 2004 and it was an AWESOME time for sports. It started with the Tigers winning. Then back to back Pistons chips, the Lions didn't win anything but I got to see Barrie Sanders entire career including the 2000 yard rushing game. The Red Wings won 3 Stanley Cups. Got to see Probert fight and Yzerman be amazing. U of M was happening with the Fab 5. It all ended with Ben Wallace, Billups and the 2004 NBA ring.

    I am very very interested in moving to Detroit..... and so far you did not say anything that would make me not want to move!... I am an Austrian living Ca right now and I want to get out of here so bad... because In way too overrated, way too overtaxed and way over over-populated Ca I hate the constant never ending heat, its like living in an oven for 7 months of the year, very depressing and if you are lucky maybe you get 2 weeks of some kind of "winter"....but I LOVE LOVE LOVE the COLD!!! ......LOL.....

    The issues with Detroit are the public transportation system, the crime, lack of high paying manufacturing jobs, and lack of major grocery store chains. If these can be improved, Detroit will be an awesome place to live. The city is getting nice, especially downtown. Developers need to spread that Renaissance deep into the neighborhoods.

    • @brucebeamon5460
      @brucebeamon5460 7 місяців тому

      The TRANSPORTATION is an ISSUE because the SUBURBS have NO INTEREST in promoting it because they feel it would only be beneficial to the city of DETROIT… DECADES ago the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT was going to pay % 80 of the cost of a subway system but the outskirts REFUSED to play ball to get it done and AGAIN only a couple years ago the SAME THING HAPPENED when they where considering only a light rail system that would have been cheaper…. This STATE is known for NOT SUPPORTING the most populous city in the state but taking its resources leaving to be only a shell of its former GLORY as it WAS the richest city per capita b4 it’s decline starting in the 50s

    Detroit is rebuilding just like football team but has a long way to go,so many abandon houses or no housese in neighborhood, have to rebuild neighborhoods and make affordable to draw people back,and redo sewers which is outdated, which is major task,i think all cities should be like Detroit and have teams in city not suburbs.

    I live here and have dated every race. It isn't a town if you are racist. We get a decent amount of people from other areas of the globe so much so that while I was younger I learned from British people as to which city or region of the isle they are from based on accent. I got so good they often asked me if I was from there not believing an American could have picked that up.
