I always been such a fan of PC/Genesis, NJR one of the best 80s album. Yes Phil, is the best drummer in the world, you can hear it in Tina Turner's 1986 "Typical Male" and "Easy Lover" with EWF's Philip Bailey(the other Phil) both became successful singles on the charts. The single Don't Lose My Number wasn't on his 1998 Hits collection, something that confused alot of PC fans. The music video for DLMN I thought that Billy was in the video, I don't know if that was true or not. But at the end of the day, "No Jacket Required" should require a jacket.

Dropped in the 80s only to be brought back in Mr.Kojimas hit game series Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom when our main character Venom Snake is screaming into the sky as if wanting god to hear his pain all while his base burns in the background while this classic 80s hit is playing.

I'm also curious to know what it will sound like and what all 15 tracks on this album will be like. They say that the album is bold rock and also political. However, it is a completely different album from all the albums they have made previously, such as RCM, AYNIN, PG, FP and DM. Just wait and hope that it will be released this year. But tslvex could be released after the US elections. Or very different from that.

Reportage was a response to Franz Ferdinand carving out what Duran Duran thought was their own classic sound. But the label pushed for a more R&B sound and a collab with Timbaland/Timberlake. Remember they were already dropped by a label during Medazzaland and they were afraid of it happening again

Chia Girl has so much stereotypes going on and in the 80’s, when I was learning English and, as a big Bowie fan, I naturally wanted to understand the lyrics. Needless to say, I was horrified. Now I just laugh it off as a joke song.

Dark Circles is such a brilliant album. It was never going to sound like the Duran Duran we know now. It was what might have been. It's more experimental and I love it! I listen to this album FAR more than some of the weaker Duran Duran albums (Astronaut, Paper Gods).

Fans chasing this album are like Ahab pursuing Moby Dick, the Great White Whale

The interlude nevaeH nI ecalP A actually is the version that Wendy sang. There were three versions of the song. One by Lisa (which is the one you'd hear on the album), one by Wendy and one by Prince.

Could easily (despite all wonderful nostalgia for the DLR era albums) be number 2 or even number 1. Well done sir.

This album is a gem! My top 3 DD albums.

The fact that the black Crowes pulled that stunt after they had to scrap the original version (which was called Tall) and they blew through a million $’s (the blow part isn’t a Euphemism either) is nuts. But all that said it’s their best album, and some of the Tall sessions were later released with a more tasteful cover. I don’t know how they weren’t cut from their label.

I’ve always loved the song, and just recently saw an interview wity Vedder/ Springsteen witu the explanation. I just played it for my daughter two days ago and she immediately liked it. Ive been turning them on to PJ the last year. Anyway, after this song I gave her a couple clues about the lyrics. She’s got a better understanding of music than i had thought so I knew she’d be interested. So I’m waiting for her call any day,from college where she’s a freshman. “ Dad, I know what the song is about!” I can guarantee I’ll hear that any time now. Can’t wait

Only been a Duranie for a year and it was the lyrics and melodies of their deeper cuts that captivated me. I never even realized, until watching your video, that Simon's harmonies and backing vocals were a big contributing factor also! Just recently their song "She's Too Much" has been added to my favs because there's a section where the harmonies are just gorgeous.

Went to GnR concert and they were the opener. Never paid much attention to AIC but I was impressed and now a big Fan. Very impressed with William. To feel their sound is unreal. I wished it would have been GnR opening for AIC! It was even better being in front section with VIP seats. I wouldn’t have been able to afford to tickets like that but thanks to a great friend it happened.

Saw DD in Detroit Sept 2023 and Careless Memories was in the set list and they rocked it!! Such great energy and it’s crazy to think it’s more than 40 years old.

This album has so many incredible musicians. It was a big exercise on self indulgence probably allowed by the record company after they sold so many copies of DD records. I mean the cost of production must have been astronomical.

An even better question is, why didnt they make Secret Oktober a flagship song?? It wouldve been one of the biggest hit songs of the 80s, no question
