I thought Anniversary was my favorite so far but this track is possibly the best so far! It’s up there w/their best. Amazing chorus...gotta love the classic Flange effect in the intro! 🙏
Instant hit in my world, it's a great song, again it sounds different to what they have done before, it sounds very mature, elegant & classy and trails into 'Anniversary' brilliantly.
Addendum: I just listened to all the available tracks on Amazon in order, then looked up the published tracklist. 2: All of You; 3: Give It All Up; 4: Anniversary. You didn't seem sure if this was going to be the actual order of the songs, but that is for sure the case. Hearing Give It All Up segue into Anniversary is VERY cool.
I was still up when it dropped around midnight and got the notification and said, "Oh boy!" haha I dig the song. While it's not the bangers that some of the previous releases have been, it has a really nice atmospheric tone to it...almost a wistfulness. Tove Lo's voice is beautiful. I'm getting SO curious to see how the whole album meshes together. I'm starting to feel the way you do...this could be a different kind of aural experience and experiment for the guys. Reading all the interviews with them is making it even more suspenseful for me!
Hey Brian, I haven’t really heard this song yet but I’m curious if DD will ever release their last album/ recording w AndyT -Reportage? Your thoughts? I’m dying to hear those songs. Thanks
When the song first starts I’m thinking NO because it’s just too mellow. Then, Simon’s singing kinda changes and it’s better. When Tove Lo starts in, I’m thinking “Wow! I’m impressed!” I looked her up when you mentioned her in a previous video. To be honest, I was a little worried. Luckily, I was wrong. They sound great together. I do like this song a lot. I think it does flow well into “Anniversary”. I cannot wait to get this album. I preordered so I’m not sure when I’ll get it but I’m sure I can download from Spotify tomorrow. I’ll be all over that, lol.
Interesting comments here. In my opinion I think this is BY FAR the best song released as of yet, I give it a 9.5. This, and to a lesser extent More Joy, are the only two songs that I actually have wanted to listen to repeatedly..... Very good song.
I dig this studio track. The song I have barely an interest in is "Tonight United". Very disappointed in that. Everything else I have is is fantastic. Can't wait for release day! Depeche Mode did fade in/out to the next song on 'Music for the Masses'. Cool thing. But not when making a mix tape! LOL
I've heard both versions, the "Today" show version was good, heightened my excitement for new album, but it was what you'd expect from a live TV performance. Album version is a good song, could be better. It doesn't flow well for me. More arcs & pizzazz needed, a re-mix (Nile Rodgers perfect choice). Let Nile do to this what he did with "The Reflex" & they'd probably have a solid top ten hit. Tove is wonderful, their voices together are ❤ GREAT collab w Simon, hope they duet again ❤
Just had to run and listen to it. It is nice, bit mellow but smooth. This is going to be an interesting album, can't wait to get it. Tove Lo fits very well with Simon's voice, I can see more collaborations in the future.
I love Give it all up with Tove Lo it’s fantastic and the other ones I love from Future Past are All Of You which is my favourite track,Wing,Hammerhead,Beautiful Lies,Laughing Boy and Falling
I really like the song. I don't know much about Tove Lo, I'll have to look into her but I think she brings a great element/balance into the song. Simon's singing in a low octave & smooth, something that I really haven't heard much of since the early days. John's bass is up there to be heard loud & proud. As you said, the synth's stand out. Roger seems to have downplayed the drums, not his usual style. I love the intro & outro. I heard both songs on either side as well. I can't wait to get this record in my hands to play it in full, front to back. I have it on pre-order from them so I won't get it until next week. I don't know if I'll want to listen to anyone else's reviews or them playing it until I have heard it myself but I don't know if I can wait!!! I am newer to your channel & I like how you present things even when you don't like something. It's fair & to the point & gives another side if someone else feels differently. You're not rough & ugly about it. You welcome discussions. I'm glad I found your channel. I watch others & get all sides of reactions & it's good to hear everything, as I'm open minded even though I have a bias, especially for this band But I do listen to all kinds of music from all genres so hearing another's thoughts helps to put that much more thought into the songs. Thank you!!
Duran have a genius (not done in the 80s so take that people) of late to feature guest spots, but it only ever hits good if the person they choose is wretched and then it's the their fault for being crap, not the song. Tove Lo has a rare thing-a good voice, but her influences are for shit. Thank God she don't bring THEM with her! God, 'acts' today!
This and Tonight United will be songs I skip. Nice rhythm but musically flat and bland, just two notes in alternation. Album feeling pretty average so far.

Got to agree with you on this. Perfect.

One of the best songs on the album! Fantastic!
It's brilliant awesome amazing 👍
I love the track and I have been a big Tove Lo fan. Glad to see them working together. So far, I think this is my favorite track!

If this album goes for The Beatles' Abbey Road side two direction where the songs melt together without pause.... That would be beyond amazing!
That’s my dream!!!

Sorry for the novel, I guess you can see my passion!!
Don’t be sorry. I appreciate it and welcome to the channel. I appreciate your comment
Best song on the album is Laughing Boy by far.
I prefer more Tove Lo version)

NOT a fan of Tonight United. If it had different lyrics I might like it.
TU is a great song live ! Simon loves playing it!
@@andredaher712 Some songs definitely sound better live than on a record.
