Just completed this job and I doubt if I would have even tried it without this video and watching a few others as well on UA-cam. Thank you so much for your expert explanations. It seems that there are some very similar actuator part numbers and even a site where I typed in the car reg sold me the wrong part. I only found out when I came to change it. I then only got the right part by quoting the part number off the sticker on the old one, and even then, some sites cross referenced it to the same wrong part as I was shopping around. Also, I came across a work around on another posters video for the nightmare handle cable removal - i.e. remove the door handle and then following this video, you can 'relatively' easily remove the entire actuator mechanism. Thanks again.

I have a mk7 transit engine seems to be locked solid i got the van like this so no idea how or what caused it what is the most common thing to go would it be a cam chain ?

Thanks for the video. I have similar problem but the oil filter nylon cap popped oil everywhere so I change the whole oil cooler with filter on this 2.4 transit. Topped up oil ran good and around the block a few times turned it off come back the next day and started it. Seemed ok then I heard a hissing noise looked under engine and the metal oil filter seal had popped out oil everywhere again. Could this be the injectors seals ?

Would you recommend a sump clean after as my van had the same problem. Due to the last owner not doing the oil change because he couldn't get the filter housing off he sold a 2010 Transit to me for spares or repairs. Needed a new turbo .( So I thought) After a new turbo, glow plugs and a few other things I decided to remove the cam cover only to find the rocker bridge was fecked due to lack of oil . Didn't tell me he didn't add any more oil to the van until it had died .. sorry about my writing as I've just started to read and write again after a stroke.

If you a worried about a garage inventing problems when it comes to a mot. You would be better off in my opinion taking it to you local council testing site. They are just either pass or fail your vehicle as simple as that. They do not carry out repairs so they have no reason to fail a vehicle for some trumped up reason

Helpful video. I bought LR flaps, and as you said, the bolts were too short. Rears were very hard to fit as it is difficult to align drilled holes. After two days fitted rears. The front flaps have a changed profile, and a different approach needed and require a vertical bolt insert.

You were so far into it, why didn't you just remove the whole system ie. EGR valve, cooler and 'boost pipe'? You had to get it remapped anyway...

The "Quick Struts" you buy off eBay are coming brand new in the box like this !! Made in China I guess. Initially it LOOKs like they are lined up, BUT IF YOU FIND when you install them that you have to TURN THE SWAY BAR EAR 180 DEGREES TO LINE UP, they they are now 180 degrees OFF AT THE TOP. You have to take them out, compress just the springs and turn the rubber part of that top mount (the longer tab) 180 around.

Great video - much easier than real life! A comment and a question - first the comment - I didn't bother undoing the bottom knuckle joints. - I removed the wishbones complete and swung them out of the way. Reckoned it was less risky than fouling up the knuckle nuts. Question - was your rack bolted to the subframe and were the two bolts easy to remove? one of mine seems to be screwed into a plastic lug on the side of the rack and has unscrewed about an inch and seized almost solid. Had this issue with 2.4 Puma. Local garage had two goes at it, but not a long term fix - problem recurred. Sent to Transit specialist with same result. Decided to tackle it myself, and recut the cylinder head seats - gently by hand. Renewed the injectors with genuine seals and it has been a 100% success. Don’t use cheap copper washers, and ensure seats are clean to provide a seal.

Shot in the dark. I’ve had this issue a couple of times, does anyone know of the newer transit rocker covers have their own air filter system in it to allow the presssure escape? If so mine doesn’t seem to work and I noticed they also sell the rocker cover online as well as gasket kits. Is there a common fault with the rocker cover, seems a strange item for loads of outlets to stock.

Is it the same engine in a mondeo mk3 st ???

If both pipes are hot is it still can be blocked ? Still no heating

maybe this gun works for patios cos you've got gravity on your side but with a wall nothing was coming out at all. The seal is so tight that it forms a vacuum which stops the mixture from moving and all the water is forced out of the mix also making it immoveable.

Something more happens to me lately if it has already happened to anyone before. The car does not open with either hand, the batteries have been changed. I thought it was the battery, because I had to turn off the star and it is a sign that the battery has changed, I touched and the replacement continued using the physical signal, the alarm sounds and when I lower the handle the steering wheel goes down. The wheel senses it and I struggle. I don't stop in the morning when I take the parking bag, but if I take it and park it in the sun, could there be some sensor blocking the opening due to the temperature? After passing the inspection, the control unit did not detect any problems related to the aforementioned problem. The mechanic suggests that I try to put the sun blind on the outside so that the sun does not hit the sensor directly (located on the front of the windshield). But the problem continues to occur, I believe due to the increase in internal temperature when parking in the sun. It also suggests replacing the internal module that carries the aforementioned sensors. I don't know the price but I'm sure it will be high..... But that will be the solution. Always leave belt on until you get bolt off, solid flywheels conversion is a bad idea, they're there for good reason and a change will pass on stresses to gearbox and more.

Good video, but you should have shown more of the reassembly of the internals of the Haldex motor, as that suddenly popped back together, without showing what goes where and how to position the bits. Maybe some advice? Also, it looks like a gen. 4 Haldex? Kind regards

I shot welded the exhaust manifold and removed the whole egr system with couple of hoses add to that a down pipe with no dpf 🌏😱

Just changed the front driver door actuator on my evoque 2017 5 door diesel with no keyless entry. Your video was great and everything went exactly as you say. However, when I lock with fob, mirrors retract and sounds like all doors locked but drivers door is still open and if I open then alarms goes off. If I sit in car it the small lock/open latch above the door handle doesn't move when the doors are opened/locked with fob. Always stays in lock position. As far as I can see, I followed your video exactly so any ideas would be much appreciated? Thanks.

This is the Ford unit isn't it ? I had trouble with my Peugeot partner van with the EGR . The amount of crap in the inlet manifold was terrible and nearly blocked off . In 130000 miles. Exceptional vid 👍
