- Today we have this Immaculate Focus RS in for a Timing Belt and Water Pump Replacement.
Overall this is not a particularly difficult but not for the faint hearted due to the lack of room.

The reason the pump was hard to change is because you didn't lower the engine down. Once the mount is off, you can lower the engine down by about 5-6" which makes getting the pump in and out a doddle
I have to say this was an amazing simple video with the right details!! Not alot of people do the videos right and this will help me so much when i have to chance my timing belt out now. Thank you so much! Was abit scared of this looked like a complicated engine but far from it 🙏

That's so good someone having a go on a mk2 focus rs definitely not enough on UA-cam. I to have a green rs mk2 2010 funny i have just had my timing belt and water pump done a couple of months ago. 👍
Overall its not a bad job other than the water pump. Now ive done one it would be much easier to do another. Love how old school it was 👍

Ah ahhh, no wonder you didnt film the timing belt change on the Evoque - this is much more prestige!! Would have been interesting to compare the views!!

Every instruction i can find on the Internet is saying you need the cam locking tool along with the crank locking tool but i dont have either of those and dont know where to purchases them
I was exactly the same so got a lad from for to print the procedure off Ford Etis. You dont need them. Really old school way of doing it

Couldn't believe it! Everything has a locking tool these days. Was brilliant!
This sort of job is the reason why I hate transverse engines in all modern motors!...My massive hands and bugger all room make for a lot more swearing than usual :)
Oh yeah a lot of modern vehicles are like this. Personally I think most of them are designed like to up the labour ours to make money..... crafty sods.
This one wasnt a bad job at all apart from the water pump, really straight forward.
