Great 4pm Class today at St. Peters CrossFit! We started w/ "Death By" Back Squats at 65lbs. Death by means: Do 1 rep in the 1st minute, 2 reps in the 2nd minute, 3 reps in the 3rd, etc. Until you fail or "die." Due to class, this one had a cap of 22-23 minutes. This is a similar format to some other training I've done lately - but I kept screwing it up! 14 min AMRAP: 1 Wall Walk, 1 Power Snatch (135), 1 Ring Muscle Up, run 200 meters 2 Wall Walk, 2 Power Snatch (135), 2 Ring Muscle Up, run 200 meters 3 Wall Walk, 3 Power Snatch (135), 3 Ring Muscle Up, run 200 meters etc... I was able to complete the round of 5's the 6 wall walks just under 14 minutes...

My last day of training prior to leaving for vacation (5/31). It was a fun triplet of Rope Climb, Shuttle Run (50', done 25' down & back) and Deadlift at 275lbs; all done in a 10 minute AMRAP.       Thank you so much Collette! 5 felt great - I had a better grip on the bar (less sweaty to start) and all the adrenaline to push me through all 48! 6 felt just as slow and terrible as it did in practice. Those WW/Pogo/BJO’s were slow and painful! My goal was to have a chance at the snatch bar “live,” so I’d call it a success!

    That looked pretty brutal. How much do you think you slowed down on the wall-climbs due to the slick floor? Even then, if they were a few seconds faster, might not have mattered much.

      It was pretty significant....I'd guess those could be up to 5s faster per rep...which is quite a bit of time across the 12 total.

      Hello Nabin - great question! The simplest way to describe it is I do "CrossFit." The vast majority of the time, I do what is programmed at the CrossFit affiliate I am attending. That said, since I am working towards being more competitive, I have a "list" of workouts from friends, from social media, or from the CrossFit website. I try to incorporate the things I suck at to become a more well-rounded athlete. Generally, if you follow the definition of CrossFit: "constantly varied, functional movement executed at high intensity," coupled with eating "meats & veggies, nuts & seeds, some fruit, little starch, no sugar," you will become a better human!

    That sandbag g2oh is pretty strange at first. No room for recklessness like you can get away with on a barbell. Slow is smooth, smooth is fast! I did a quick workout yesterday with it, give it a try! 9-15-21-15-9 S2OH 135# Sandbag box step ups 80# My time was 9:34, but I wasted some time on transitions, and dropped the bar once during the 21's.       Hi Tom, appreciate the comment! I totally align with your statement. The eccentric piece of the deadlift is extremely important! That said, my goal for this CrossFit workout was more of intensity and skill with the RC’s (specifically the legless aspect)/get as much work done as possible in a 10 minute window. Similar to how the kipping pull-up allows more work to be done in a smaller amount of time than a strict pull-up. Hope this helps with understanding my intention.     Even on vacation the man is working out! Love it!!! Funny, I’m same way. I’ll be going to cali for work, first thing I looked for was a box close by so I can do a drop in.

    For a second I thought you were doing 10 of each every minute...I didn't know if that was possible for 1 minute let alone 30 minutes. After watching you do the workout, I was super impressed with you getting after that gnarly workout on vacation. Especially with how hard you pushed on the final rounds!

      Totally! I think it could be possible for one minute...but not much more than that! I may give that one minute challenge a try this week and see...make it a "death by," since it would only be 1 or 2 minutes, haha! Appreciate your support Chris!
