Nothing worse than a bad back, you have my sympathy. My boat is at long last heading off the Nene on Wednesday and will be at Hillmorton on Saturday 🎉. My friend who is already there and waiting for me said he saw an otter and it even got out of the water onto the towpath, also water voles are about so the water must be good quality 👍🏼 take it easy 🦆💕

If you moor by Neil Morrissey’s pub (The Plume of Feathers) at Barlaston, S-on-Trent there is a butcher round the corner who cooks his own meat and sells tubs of dripping jelly. Amazing on sarnies 😋🦆💕

A lovely cruise - thanks. At Brinklow, the sides of the cutting became so saturated with rain that the trees started marching down the slope and into the canal. The CRT really has its work cut out cutting the trees out of the cut.
