20. A Short Cruise Along The Trent And Mersey.

- This is a short video of my return journey along the Trent And Mersey Canal from Burton-Upon-Trent to Fradley Junction and the start of the Coventry Canal. As autumn turned to winter, I decided to return to the Oxford Canal, the northern section where I hope to spend the winter months and where there seem to be few, if any winter stoppages or restrictions by the CRT, at least at the present time. I had been warned by several other boaters that the Trent is subject to flooding through the winter, which has proved to be correct. As I upload this video there are large areas throughout the country that are experiencing severe flooding, the River Trent being one of them.

Another story: We travelled in a convoy of 3 through the river section you passed to Alrewas where just after the lock is a water point. 2 didn’t need water but our good friend Andy did so we left him there & continued on to Fradley. We then got a call from him he couldn’t start his engine. He had let his diesel tank get so low it sucked in the sediment at the bottom & could he have a tow. Using my boat I went back through 5 locks, the river section again and back to him where he was hitched up to me and taken on to Fradley. Needless to say I was not best pleased with him 😂🦆💕
The swan pub is also known as the mucky duck
Your right Sue. It’s interesting the Pub is known as the Mucky Duck and the cafe by the service point is called the Laughing Duck both are well worth a visit. 🤔😃👍
