After spending time in moorings taking care of some health issues and problems with Bubbly Too's engine, I was keen to get out onto the cut again. I had to pay for the mooring by the month, so I have until the end of February. I thought it would be a good idea to get out and give Bubbly Too a run to check all was well with the engine and would give me a change of scenery. So in this vlog, I take a short cruise along the Oxford Canal to Braunston. The weather was changeable some bright sunshine as well as rain and some stiff winds. It felt good to be back out enjoying the peace, tranquillity and nature I've missed.
A huge thank you 👍 to everyone who has subscribed liked and commented since the beginning of my adventure, it is much appreciated.

A lovely cruise - thanks. At Brinklow, the sides of the cutting became so saturated with rain that the trees started marching down the slope and into the canal. The CRT really has its work cut out cutting the trees out of the cut.

Thanks glad you enjoyed the vlog. I haven't seen the problem at Brinklow first hand but it sounds like the CRT have their work cut out. I was hoping to go that way at the beginning of March but it looks like I will have to postpone things until after 8th April when the CRT say navigation will be reopened. 🤞

Hi Alan, well the plan is to to move from the River Nene in the next few weeks and head down the north Oxford, meeting friends at Hillmorton then continuing to the Coventry & Ashby after having some work done at Boot Wharf, Nuneaton. The landslide should be cleared by then. We are totally flooded here and the river and field next to my boat are joined and footpath under 6” of water. I’ve not had water on my boat for the the last couple of weeks as the rust from my tank has blocked the pipes, hoping to get a new tank fitted when floods subside. All good fun and part of the joys of living on a boat surrounded by wonderful nature 🦆💕

Hi Pam, sounds like you're having a trying time. Hope things sort themselves out for you soon. The canal level here is pretty high but no flooding so far although it has been close. 🙏

    Hey
Nice post. I like how you seem to be transitioning more towards videos of you traveling on the cut. At least that’s what I enjoy the most. The English countryside is breathtaking. Keep it slow man. ☺️

Thanks Ian. Cruising videos are what I want and like to do and I'll be back cruising properly by the end of the month so will get some more vlogs out soon.

Love your background music. What tune is that?

The background music was called "Fresh Fallen Snow" by Chris Haugen. I love it too.

Great to see you back out on the cut Alan. I am curious - i could see you were desperate to get moving again! Given that you had a van before the boat, how long have you lived the nomadic lifestyle and have you alway liked to be moving? Have a lovely weekend 🥰

Hi Lesley, I think I've been a nomad all my life, always keen on seeing new places and what's around the corner. I bought my first camper, an old VW hippie bus when I was 19 years old and have had many through the years. It would take forever to tell all but I have to date visited close to 70 countries and lived full-time in a camper van or motorhome from 2009 until I bought Bubbly Too last year. I find it difficult to stay in one place for long, even as I get older. 😘

Why not spend a couple of weeks on the Ashby?
