Talking to a camera, camping in the woods | Oregon Coast dispersed camping
Hello! As usual, it's been too long. We decided to leave our rain cave in Portland to head for the Coast Range and enjoy some much needed spring sun, it was a fantastic one nighter to get us back outside. Hope you enjoy the chill times.
We've got a new theme song for Kim's not very good outdoor cooking show thanks to our friend Elise for inspiring the song on our Mt. Rainier to Hood trip, as well as our buddy Ryan for making the theme! Goofy, and on brand for us.

    If you two decide to quit the camping videos, you Must stay online in some capacity; Kim is a natural born comedian, and Winston's big booming voice is perfect for voice-overs or narration. You are both very clever and likable. I do not watch TV, nor do I own one, and it is because TV personalities are hyperactive, phony buffoons.

    Making videos is hard, boring and tedious work. Make it easy by bringing the camera, setting it up in one place and doin yo thang. Then post with minimal editing. You dont have to talk to the camera. the best parts of this video were the sounds and views of the river and camp site. and Cooper is very photogenic

    In 1986 a buddy and I rode our motorcycles from Plumas county in the northern Sierras of CA to Port Angeles WA and back over 15 days. He had a new 1986 Honda XL 600, and I had a 1981 Honda XL 500. We rode for 3,300 miles total. Our ride from Mt. Hood to Mt. Rainer was quite a bit of what today is the WA BDR.

    I was born and raised in Coos Bay. Tip of the day from a lifetimer; air down to about 8PSI for soft sand. Makes a world of difference and can really help prevent your transmission from overheating. I've never been stuck using that method. On roads and big ol dunes. I drive a Yukon XL, which without my camping gear and family is at 5,900 lbs. Also, I've camped in the exact same spot you did in this video. I promise the trash wasn't mine.

    We feel the same about not sharing the hard earned camping sites that we find. The enjoyment of camping also includes the hunt for locations to camp. I feel that those who are too lazy to go look for a spot and just want to mooch off of those who did the time and effort are trolls. The whole point in getting outside is to explore and find places that you want to spend time at. You can't do that if all you do is rely on others to mooch off of. People need to stop asking/demanding and get off their butts and the internet and get outside and find their own camp sites. It's not a hard thing to do.

    • @ScaleofTwo
      @ScaleofTwo Місяць тому

      I can sometimes understand that some people don’t have the luxury of spending hours driving around the forest like we do, but there are tons of ways to find good spots to camp without a bunch of driving around. Might not always be the best spots, but you’ll definitely find good ones scrolling around on maps. Just gotta put in a little effort 🤷‍♂️

    • @acoupleofscrewsloose

      @@ScaleofTwo Totally. All one has to do is look at Google Earth and then plot a course. Every trail and every campsite in every region of Oregon is already known. People simply have to look, for themselves. There's not much in the Coast Range but even the location of the three teeny hidden lakes is published somewhere, on good 'ol paper. Hiking up to them is a different story (Saddle Mountain is still closed, they're repopulating the butterflies). The irony is that even without asking where to go, one merely has to walk outside where they are quite literally anywhere in Oregon at to be pretty much just an arm's reach from an outdoor or even wilderness adventure. People don't publish the locations of the lava tubes in Portland for the same reasons - and even more so, lots of people get hurt so the only way to find one is to know someone who already knows which means they know where the safe spots are. Actual tourists are rarely able to find them again, even with GPS pins lol

  • @johndoe-lr9if
    @johndoe-lr9if Місяць тому

    Sadly I have to agree about not sharing spots, the more people go to them and trash them the more likely the forest service is to close off the area
