This is a continuation of our previous episode ( • An Overland trip to Mo... ). This week we venture into the Montana backcountry for a 3 night backpacking trip in some of the most remote mountains in the lower 48 US. After a very tough hike, we drive even farther north on the border of the US and Canada for a little overlanding adventure to a fire lookout tower that we camped in for one night. It was such a fantastic trip, the beauty of Montana is truly unmatched.

It was so special, Montana was incredible in every way. A week was definitely no where near enough time to fully take it in. Thanks for watchin Ben 🤙🏼

You gotta do it, it was incredible! 5 days was not nearly long enough to explore properly

Nice! Staying in fire lookouts is the best. Sorry you had so much smoke. That must have been hard on the lungs.
Don't bother with bear bells; they don't work. It's much more effective to make your presence known to bears by yelling "hey bear!" or something. :)

It really rolled in on us the second day of backpacking, it made us all pretty stuffy. Not great 😅
And good to know! we’re new to Grizzly territory so we just made as much noise as we could going down the trail.
      Thanks for watchin 🤙🏼

This was awesome! That fire lookout was perfect. Did it make up for Mt. Whitney?

I’d say so, backpacking in Montana was surely a big difference from Whitney in terms of people (we had the trail to ourselves), and the hike was so beautiful

Anyone know what kind of snake that was?
I’m from Florida aka snake central but that doesn’t look familiar

Yeah, I’ve never seen anything like that before either. Need to research it!
