This past weekend we took off for a long awaited snow camping & overlanding trip in our 100 series land cruiser with some new friends. It was a fantastic time camping in some snow, and getting a little stuck while driving the forest roads. We even saw a wild horse in Ochoco National Forest right at our campsite!

I thought i was leaving a comment but apparently I’m writing a book here….jeez I can babble….
That looked like a really fun trip. Snow (winter) camping is awesome, there’s hardly anyone around so it’s like you have the mountain/valley or whatever all to yourself. That propane fire pit is gonna be awesome when it’s dry and there’s a burn ban. I got one a few years ago and it’s been great. Not sure why Kim says Not very good cooking show, you both eat really good meals out there especially compared to some folks who just go for the basic hotdogs and burgers or the dehydrated hiking meals, those have their place but your meals are on a whole another level. Congratulations on hitting 1000 👍, I just hit 100😂…..
…. Wow am I gonna continue to ramble on?…. Nah I think this book is done.
It was so peaceful out there…not shown though was some folks shooting not too far from us the next morning 😅 thankfully they waited until the afternoon.

Great vid as always. Are you planning on adding a RTT or do you like your sleeping set up? Just asking cause I’m thinking of getting rid of my RTT and doing a sleeping platform in my 4Runner similar to how you guys setup your rig.
Thank you! And no, we’ve decided against an RTT. We’d rather maximize the roof space with storage, and honestly it’s just so much nicer sleeping inside the cruiser. In the summer we’ll use a ground tent if it’s really nice. Good luck on your build!

So is Cooper’s paw all better? what is the lowest temp you’ve ever slept in? Did you build the platform or design it then have it built? Soooo many questions ☺️
Coops paw is better! Lowest temp is probably somewhere around 20, don’t quite recall. The previous owner had installed the drawer, but I sort of restructured it all and rebuilt it!
I was going to say there is no shame in not cooking at camp. Many people use MRE’s or precooked home meals. I prefer to cook. But then your partner totally redeemed it by that beautiful breakfast. So I’m just blah blah blah.

Totally agree, we sometimes bring MREs if we know we’re going to be doing a bunch of other stuff. But yes, Kim is always whipping up tasty meals 😄
