    I have the same attachment foe my ash vac i use on my pellet stove except the bristles are a wire brush instead of plastic. Should work mint for doing my furnace. Isn't there a few other things like adjusting the fuel ratio and checking the co2 being released or something? And also ik you gotta use Chimney Sealant stuff, kinda like mortar around where the exhaust flue meets the actual chimney, also how frequently do i need to clean my actual chimney for my furnace? Idk if ive ever seen my plumber do that, he has however cleaned the exhaust flue that goes from the furnace to the chimney. And last question, also how do you adjust the oxygen ratio and air intake vent? Is there anything you even have to do there and if so how frequently?

    2 questions: 1. Why not use the common wire? 2. Why not mount the metal box cover to the box first, then the thermostat?

      Thank you for watching and leaving your feedback! Most of our systems use only two wire setups. You can definitely use the common wire! I am sure there are many ways to mount a thermostat. This is just the way I did it for this project!

    Thanks for the detailed video.....I just purchased some Beckett electrodes and they along with the old set have what looks like a butt connector to attach the length electrodes ends to match the others. The instructions don't say to crimp them or anything

    • @furnacetech2581
      @furnacetech2581 6 місяців тому

      I am not sure exactly what you are referring too. I know the electrodes come in many different designs. Most of the ones I run into, I cut to length or screw them together and then cut off excess. Some I am able to get the exact lengths. I know there is one type that I have come across that pushes together. I am sorry my reply is not much help!

    • @dgmenace73
      @dgmenace73 6 місяців тому

      @furnacetech2581 no apology necessary. I appreciate any advice. These electrodes have two lengths of rods that have a metal "coupler" that does push on but its very loose. I figure you're supposed to crimp them to make tighter? The old & new set both have the same "coupler". If this helps any, let me know your thoughts. Thanks

    • @furnacetech2581
      @furnacetech2581 6 місяців тому

      I would remove the powerhead off the valve body and check if the valve is stuck. If it’s stuck, then the internal valve parts need to be replaced. They sell rebuild kits. You can check this video’s description for a parts link if you have the ability to do it yourself!

    A question for you about bearing noise. I have a two-year-old furnace, and I'm hearing some pretty bad-bearing noise coming from around the fuel pump. At this point it's intermittent. I thought originally it was coming from the blower motor but upon closer examination, it's coming from around the Motor or the fuel pump. I'm assuming there are several bearings in and around the motor and fuel pump. Which do you think would be most likely to fail after just a couple of years? I've actually had furnaces 10 plus years old and never had bearing issues before, but this noise Is fairly loud and can be heard from 10 feet away.

    • @furnacetech2581
      @furnacetech2581 6 місяців тому

      I would remove the coupling between the blower and the fuel pump and test the blower motor. See if the noise goes away or not.

And don’t they have to dig that broken tank up and clean the spill. Are they filling that tank with kerosene or #1 fuel with temperature that low and lower. And with a bottom draw aren’t you going to draw moisture and sludge and possibly plugging the filter

    Does the higher voltage of the igniter improve combustion? Does it tax the ceramic insulation of the electrodes?

    • @furnacetech2581
      @furnacetech2581 7 місяців тому

      Stronger spark which help to ignite. The combustion is improved by adjust the fuel and air mixture using combustion tuning equipment. As for the electrodes, not 100% sure and every system is different because the controller may or may not turn off the spark after ignition had been established! I hope this helps!

    Hi there great video . I have a question because it getting cold and my furnace is not working. I have air comming out of the inlet filter on the side of the blow motor . Does this mean the motor is running backwards? The air is comming out of the filter where you adjust the air flow going into the burner head it that makes sense . My burner is a Beckett . I furnace runs but not well . I have changed everything from the control unit , nozzle,new igniter box. I thought the air was supposed to go into the burner head from the side where the adjuster ring goes. Should I change the direction of the blower motor ?

    It's been a couple years since I did this, but it would have been nice if they had put a note/warning with the pump that it was full of oil. Made a bit of a mess. I also had to put the pump in a vise and use a breaker bar to get the plug out for the fuel line. Made in France I recall. Has run like silk since putting the CleanCut pump with solenoid to replace the previous.

      The red wires are used if the controls need to know when the valve is calling. I would check the valve body if it’s moving freely because if not, the motor may be working too hard and failing. I hope this helps! I am located in Fairbanks and North Pole!

    Does isolating the valve by turning off supply and return eliminate the system pressure when you pull off the old plate? Thanks for the video

    • @furnacetech2581
      @furnacetech2581 Рік тому

      Yes, if you isolate the supply and return lines, you can slowly loosen the old plate. Place a bag or something to catch the fluid. Take your time because it can have a bit of fluid trapped in the lines.

    As soon as I turn on the boiler there is a call for heat, even though the heating is off at the program box. The hot water works normally just the heating is messed up. Do u think just replacing the metal box would work to fix the heat so it could be called when needed?

    • @furnacetech2581
      @furnacetech2581 Рік тому

      The first thing I would check is the end switch. If the end switch is closed, then the boiler will get a signal to run the pump. Some boilers will turn on just to maintain minimum temp.

    Is there a way I can get a stuck open valve manually closed until I get a new one?

    • @furnacetech2581
      @furnacetech2581 Рік тому

      Yes, there are a couple ways. Turn the thermostat off in that space, then remove the zone valve cover and take a screwdriver to see if you can move the linkage to free it. The spring should drive it closed. The other way is to turn off the thermostat in that zone and then close off one of the valves on that zone. I hope this helps!

    Ive been having trouble with my bekett burner. Ive trouble shooted everything i could think of and cant figure out the issue. My blower fan is not kicking on when i turn on the heat switch. It will kinda of turn on but get stuck then it trips my breaker. Do you think it could possibly be the fuel pump? Or something electrical? When i trouble shoot the motor blower alone without being assembled it works normal but when i place it into the shaft it looks like it gets stuck. Id appreciate the help. Thanks!

    • @furnacetech2581
      @furnacetech2581 Рік тому

      You should be able to spin the fuel pump by hand. If you can, the blower motor may be going bad! That’s where I would start. I hope this helps!

      @@furnacetech2581 figured out the problem the next day. It was the fuel pump. The shaft inside the fuel pump was stuck causing my motor blower to get stuck. I changed out the fuel pump and it started working like a champ! I appreciate your videos I've learned so much. Thanks

    I have just replaced my Honeywell motor head. I must have an older style as there are no screws holding it to the valve body. It is only held on with a wire clip. The issue I’m having is that when the thermostat calls for heat the motor head comes disengaged and does not open the valve. If i put pressure on the motor head towards the valve body it will engage properly.

    Thank you! Sounds like I am having very similar symptoms. Only getting hot water when our other zone is running, so I guess it is stuck open and the manual switch is pretty loose. The boiler is not firing with this zone. The zone valve case seems warm too, not sure if that is normal. You mention the end switch originally but at the end you say it is the power head. What specifically did you end up replacing? Did you just go with the "Honeywell Zone Valve Repair Kit" that you linked to? And not the end switch or the motor?

      Did you get it fixed? If you are getting air into the fuel line, this can happen. Is the burner down stairs? I would check the fuel pressure going into the burner when it’s not running!
