Do you have a tech number? I had a few questions. Ty, Jay.
@@jaylongton you can ask the question here! I don’t mind answering it!
I don’t have my phone number posted because I don’t want calls from marketers and spam stuff.
Thank you for the great video, love that you mention that the pump comes pre oiled. The fact that the new pump comes with a bypass plug and correct position. That you checked to make sure the pressure was correct. Very thorough and informative! Keep up the great work!
It's been a couple years since I did this, but it would have been nice if they had put a note/warning with the pump that it was full of oil. Made a bit of a mess. I also had to put the pump in a vise and use a breaker bar to get the plug out for the fuel line. Made in France I recall. Has run like silk since putting the CleanCut pump with solenoid to replace the previous.
Excellent! Real professional! Thank You!
You work clean and orderly. Not many in the trade do.👍
Thanks again!
Thank you for watching!
Great Video information and instructions!
Thank you! Thanks for watching!
I don’t miss these times of having to wear a mask in customer homes even though I always took mine off on e the customer left me alone in their boiler room. Anyway I stopped using pipe dope and know use Blue Monster anti-seize that’s rated for solvents and all fuels and I’ve had great success with it.
Thank you for the tip!
What is the large piece that you are working on that it's connected to called? Just called an oil burner?
The burner housing is the metal body that the fuel pump mounts to. The whole thing is the burner!
How do you diagnose the pump? I have a waste oil burner with a similar pump, all the sudden today it stopped working. I took the filters out of the tank and checked everything i could. The vacuum guage had no vacuum and it does seem to be pulling any fuel from the tank. I took the pump apart and everything seems to move freely and fine. I put some oil in one fitting and spin it with a drill but didnt really see if moving or coming out the other side. Im lost and its 14 degrees in philly right now lol
There are a number of things you can do to test the pump. First this may sound silly but check the fuel tank level and make sure it’s not empty or on the verge or drawing in air into the supply line. Next, I would check. The coupling between the fan motor and the fuel pump. This coupling can strip out and not turn the pump shaft.
Next I would disconnect the fuel lines coming into the pump and install temporary lines into a fuel container to test it. This will rule out any of the existing fuel lines going into the fuel tank. If it does not pump fuel then you know right away it’s a bad pump.
After testing with a temporary tank you can remove the fuel line coming out of the fuel pump to the nozzle adapter and allow it to flow into a bottle to prove you are getting flow. If you are getting flow, you may or may not have a solenoid valve which could be faulty between the fuel pump and the nozzle adapter.
If you get flow, make sure to test the pressure with a pressure gauge and get it set correctly with the correct nozzle size for your equipment.
I hope this help point you in the right direction.
@@furnacetech2581 man i really appreciate the fast and informative reply! I should have added, the tank is full. I did put fuel in a cup and run the input line to the pump into the cup, the fuel barely moved but when i cracked the bleeder open it pulled the fuel right up through the bleeder from the 8oz cup in about 3 seconds. Im not sure if it should do the same with the bleeder closed? Its so confusing and my hvac guy is on vaca. Till friday.
Do you have a link where to get fuel pressure gauge like you have? Thanks
I canlt find any at the big box stores, wondering if F.W.Webb list them?
@@brucechipps2313 I bought one on eBay
My furnace quit today tried new filter. Ended up taking off b2va suntec pump and the pump shaft just came out of the pump thats not supposed to happen right. Any input appreciated.
Replace the pump and coupling together and you should be good to go!
@@furnacetech2581 OK will do. Gotta stay warm because fairbanks is a little cold in the winter.
