30 Minute Continuous Vinyasa Flow

  • This is a 30 minute continuous flow focussing equally on building strength and flexibility. Class moves at a continuous, steady strong pace. Warm up with plank variations, a mandala sun salute, side plank rainbows and then simmer down with a deep hip stretch in pigeon. A short abdominal sequence balanced with some bridge variations to re-lengthen your front body. Conclude with cross leg and wide leg seated forward folds. A heat building, worthwhile practice when you're short on time. Recommended for strong beginners and regular practitioners. Enjoy!

    For years, I have been practicing yoga with UA-cam recordings. I have tried many. I have always alternated between instructors. However, since finding your channel, I have been with you daily.     When I am on my elbows with my legs lifted and circling, I feel the muscles in my head tighten. 🥴. Any suggestions on how to eliminate that?

      I like to think that yoga is greatly beneficial but if some shapes cause discomfort where your breath is unsustainable at a regular pace or they cause strain, then they are not essential. Elbows on the floor in this particular pilates sequence can be done on your hands. Alternatively, you can try pushing down into your elbows so there is an upward energy/elevation through your torso all the way to the top of your spine. Then try moving the back of your skull back so your chin / head is not projecting forward. Legs can be more elevated as an option too. I’m thinking your traps around your neck are bunching or straining perhaps referring up into your jaw? It’s hard to say without seeing u x does this happen in dolphin (dog on forearms?)

      @@TwoBirdsYoga No. I’ve done this sequence before, but didn’t notice the tightening in my head. It tightened through my temples, around the back of my head and up to the top of my head. I think you are right. When I’m in dolphin, I make it a point to elongate through my spine relaxing my head. I think it is like you said, bunching and straining. I’m still working on finding balance between effort and ease. Thank you for your insight.
