Shooting @ 1:32 Specs Overview @ 5:57 Quick overview of the Mossberg 590 Shockwave JIC in 12 gauge. I was interrupted by a very large group of snow geese. This thing is fun. This is a different kind of firearm. While it is a little hard to hold, and we're not sure exactly what it's best use is. it's definitely fun to shoot, so that works for us. I got distracted by a bunch of snow geese. Sorry.

I have the leather belt and i canr slide anythinf! soes anything comes out
did you ever find a holster that accommodates the light
I ended up getting one from this place that is great, but unfortunately I don’t think they make the P2000 model anymore guerrilla-tactical.com/
Where did you get the sling attachments?
I got them from Magpul magpul.com/catalog/product/view/id/5191/s/sling-mount-kit-type-1/category/53/?mp_global_color=118

12” high at 30 yards. Dead on at 150 yards.
Ok I’ll give it a try. I haven’t been able to find any info about this sight at all. I’d love to be able to hunt with it. Thanks for the info.
So are you saying at 150 yards, the lowest/ flattest aim will be dead on?
How many mag pull grips have you broken?
This is one of the most beautiful compact pistols ive ever seen. You cant own weapons in my country sadly. Never let your Weapon Rights get taken away !
It’s a great firearm. Beretta makes great stuff.
Nice, how much will it set you back ? thanks
Honestly it’s hard to tell now. Around 600$ I think, but Berretta runs a tons of rebates throughout the year.
@@UnprofessionalOutdoors Thanks
these were and are, battle rifles. The human heart is probably 3-5 MOA depending on where your point of aim might be. One does not need 1 MOA on a battle rifle. Besides, I see you have a bayonet lug. Acquire a bayonet and learn how to use it . . . battle rifle, like an M1. 30.06. I am a retired medical doctor, former Battalion and Regimental Surgeon in the USMC, Viet Nam and Desert Shield/Storm. Just one man's opinion. I have three of these, 22 inch, 18 inch and 16 inch barrels
Very well said. I couldn’t put it better than you did. It does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and it’s one of the best looking and handling rifles in the world.
Such a nice job on this video Within 15 seconds you start doing what the video says you're going to do The video has good lighting - no nonsense instructions and important details/things to look for Thorough, yet less than 12 minutes long - I liked, I subscribed and I tip my cap to you sir
Thanks for the sub and glad it helped!
5-6 meters distance, 40-50cm spread... Something's not right..
Have you ever shot one?
I was aiming through a phone lol
lol…says the guy who’s using metric measurements.
Will it work with the barrel havingba heat shield?
Not sure. Cannot fit a heat shield on a 590A1 because the barrel is thicker.
Thank you very much for your effort to provide this instruction video on the model 12, a tremendous shotgun! My Model 12 was built in 1942, and was probably acquired by my father in the early 1950s I would guess. Since he died in 1969 I have used it occasionally but NEVER field stripped it out of simple fear of screwing things up! Obviously, it hasn’t been cleaned since the late 1950s. Now, I feel much better about it’s inner workings. One tip. A little better lighting when filming, especially when you are looking inside the breech area. It would remove a little more doubt as to how things should look. A+ for you!
Glad the video helped. It’s cool to see how many people have this gun as a family heirloom. Totally hear you on the video feedback. This was one of my first videos.
I have a Stevens .22 cal model 287 semi-automatic and this looks very similar. I have never had it apart before and this video should prove very useful. Thank you.
Hope it helps, interested to hear how similar the rifles are.
@@UnprofessionalOutdoors Your video was a tremendous help because I am quite the novice. I only took it apart as far as you did in the video and it had the same number of components and were pretty much exactly the same . Thanks so much for the video.
No one ever says to make sure the breach is cocked and locked in place before starting disassembly. If not, you will not be able to reassemble properly. Trust me, I almost had to send it to gunsmith when the breach block slide back while I was reassembling it.
Yeah good call out. I thought you couldn’t even disassemble if it wasn’t in that position. I’ll have to go back and check.
You shouldn't have to hammer so much on the pins in these hks
They have become easier to slide in over time.
Idiot. Winchester in model.,12 only made barrel lengths of 32" , 30". 28" and 26 " skeet and trap. They never produced a 31 " barrel assembly.
This EXCEEDED my expectations of the way I handled it yesterday. If I will have a 45 ACP pistol, it’ll be this one instead of a 1911! Slightly lower recoil and muzzle rise that the XD9 Sub-Compact hands down. BEAUTIFUL shooter! There’s also a 50% chance this might become my first gun since I cannot decide which 9mm pistol I should have yet and the mere fact that there are more pistols that are being added in the CA roster (yes I’m in CA and I’d want my 9mm to be as compact yet as shootable and comfortable as possible in case I can have my CCW permit).
I’ve grown to like this gun more the more of shot it. Still a lot stiffer than my HKs or Glocks, but overall it’s pretty solid. Threw some Trijicon night sights on it which was a nice upgrade.
@@UnprofessionalOutdoors I think I’ll have this as a home defense gun rather than a shotgun.
I have some bad news. You might want to sit down. Looks like Beretta stopped making the one with the threaded barrel. Maybe even the whole lineup. I bought one this afternoon off of Gunbroker. When the news gets out they will be harder to find than a truthful politician.
What?!
@@UnprofessionalOutdoors Just like I stated. I called 5 local gun shops. Each of them checked their suppliers. Nothing. I first heard it on a YT video. Hmmmm.
super thx!
If you're willing to jump through the hoops with the ATF, a 14" shotgun with a stock that holds 5+1 is extremely useful if you spend time in the backcountry. A 12 gauge still gets excellent velocity out of a 14-15" barrel. Even out of a 12" it doesn't lose too much. In Canada we can get these directly in SBR version without jumping through too many hoops, if you can believe it.
I’ve since fallen in love with this shotgun for hunting defense purposes. I need to make a part 2!
I forget the company. Someone makes a forearm, with a flashlight. Would the gun still fit in the tube with the new forearm.
They need to update sights
From what someone else commented here apparently they discontinued this specific version. The sights are definitely weak but I mean it’s a pocket 22. 🤷 I’d have just as much fun with it with no sights.
Thanks for the information about how you disassemble the gun for cleaning .
Glad it helped
You should zero an eotech at 50 yds not 70. 50 yds translates to a 200 yd zero on a 16 inch AR .
For sure. I was just messing around honestly. And one of those loads was way way off. You can hear it and see it fly. I really just wanted to try the magnifier. And man it’s fun. For our hunting operation/precision equipment it’s all Grendels at 50 yard zero 👍
The ONLY difference in the action is the two piece bolt, everything else is identical except for the steel used, info comes directly from calling Bergara and asking😎👍
The steel used matters if you’re building a truly custom rifle, which I didn’t with this lol. We now have 2 other bergaras without their higher end actions, and all I can attest to is that the difference isn’t subtle. The premier is night and day smoother/more solid. That said, it’s hard to beat a baseline tikka. We been rockin and rollin tikkas with thermions on them lately.
Lots of pricey, unnecessary mods, imho, but it's your money to spend. I think that the unmodified 590A1 is perfect.
might need that for marine magnum
Dry Firing the 21a is 𝐍𝐎𝐓 recommended.
Very true, but I dry fire all non precision guns. Im just bad about it.
What a well balanced video between audio and video, and your voice is perfect for videos, too. I just grabbed a B14 308 rifle on trade. I’m stoked to get it setup and sighted in.
Glad you enjoyed it! This is still our goto 308.
Man, doesn't that light punish your fingers if you try shooting while using the push button, or if your grip isn't perfect? I gave up on temporary on, and ended up moving my Viridian X5L way up towards the muzzle to avoid any more split fingernails.
I have not run into that, but have to admit that any night shooting I’ve done with it I just left the light on and was not toggling on/off a ton.
The reason for the insert at the stock / receiver is because you can install an optional metal ring for a sling there.
Thanks for the info
Thanks brother. Just got done with mine from my gramps. It was disgusting and not smooth. Now shes smooth as a 18 yo strippers ass 🤣
Great Video...
Thanks
I use the Mikas pocket holster for mine. It's is the best pocket holster I have found, great quality. I use 38 +p Federal punch. 😊
Nice, I was looking at picking up a Harry’s Icon 2.0
U Need To Put On The STREAM LIGHT TL-RACKER Forend, It Has A Built In 1000 Lumen Light....
Those do look nice and I do like Streamlight. Might have to pick one up.
That ankle holster sucks a big old 🍆
This answers my question I think. I got the same forward sling mount for a Remington 870 and wasn't sure if it also worked as a QD only mount not using the hook attachment. I purchased a qd sling on both sides and thought I'd have to get a different sling and use the hook attachment
Yeah mine is setup as QD only.
i got a 590 chain saw and threw the foreend on it but its super stiff not sure why anyone ?
You got a chain saw for it? Hell yeah!
Not a trap door system. Falling block system.
Trapper is slang for short rifle used by Fur trappers.
I have the 18.5" version with the M-LOK compatible forend and bead front sight. I bought it new from GunBroker last year for about $450, an absolute steal. I won't lie though: I really want this 20" version with the orange blade front sight, and with this Magpul furniture (though i prefer mine in black, or even gray). As it is, with my 590A1, I'm gonna have to get the Hogue 12" LOP replacement stock because the standard stock is just too damn long. I would opt for the Magpul stock, however, I don't think it would look as good as it would on a 20" shotgun. Just my opinion. I like the traditional look of the Hogue stock better.
Yeah that’s a great deal. I’ve handle Hogue stocks on 870s and they are great. Love the tactile feel a lot more than the plastic Magpul feel.
Idiot ! Why in the hell would anybody use a Solf non maring hammer to drive out Holding pins , when you yes you use a Steel drift punch , which will certainly mar The completion of the pins. Any body with common sense would Have used a brass or wooden punches.
I have two of them that were my Grandfather's. One is a 16Ga made in 1913 with a 5 digit serial number and a 12Ga made in 1921. Both have been used a lot, but are in good condition. The model 12 has an adjustment for when the barrel/mag tube unit gets loose in the receiver. They are easy to tighten up.
That’s cool to hear. Such great guns and I hear from a lot of people that inherited them and they still run great.
I have noticed that some are made in the US and are made in Germany. The US ones don’t have the German proof marks on the slide. Correct me if I am wrong. I picked one for $650.00, 2 mags and the 2 back straps and extra O-rings plus the box. I use the small back strap on mine, it just feels comfortable and more natural to me. Mine has the luminescent sights, which I will be swapping those out for the Trijicon XD night sights. Has any one had a issue with US made ones?
Mine is also German made. Have not heard from anyone having a US made version and running into issues.
Bought mine in 2005. Only use CCI ammo. I used other branded ammo and it would jam. Took it to a shop and the proprietor told me when that gun was made it was engineered to use CCI. Even though competitor ammo looks exact as CCI you should use CCI ammo. Maybe the engineering changed but for my model it can only use CCI.
That’s really interesting. We’ve used 5 or 6 different ammo types in these, suppressed and unsuppressed, and we haven’t had an issue.
Great video! Best review of Bobcat 21A I have seen. A lot of detail packed into 9 minutes. Thanks for your time and information.
Glad it was helpful!
Just got mine 👍🏾
Nice, enjoy it!
I had a 28 gauge with vent rib, checkering, and jeweled bolt and feed ramp. Bought it for $200 from a man dying of cancer looking to get rid of his guns. Had no idea how nice/rare it really was. Was only 15 at the time. Traded it for a mini 14 and kick myself to this day.
No lubricant?
