    • @UnprofessionalOutdoors
      @UnprofessionalOutdoors  2 роки тому +2

      It’s just personal preference. I had tried the right side, but unlike the attachment point on an AR stock which is closer to the edge of the stock, this one is pretty far in the center so the slick has a lot of stock to ride against. Just felt weird to me, but I might switch to play with it again. Regretting not getting the type 2 attachment point so I could easily switch sides.

    Very nice setup. Clear instructions for mounting the QDM’s which is appreciated by many I’m sure. What was your reasoning on going with the Mesa aluminum side saddle vs either a Vang Comp velcro side saddle or plain Velcro shotgun card? Thanks 👍

    • @UnprofessionalOutdoors
      @UnprofessionalOutdoors  2 роки тому +1

      Hey thanks, pretty happy with the setup. As for the Mesa sidesaddle, it really was just timing for me. I went through a few hard mounted side saddles that were garbage before finding the Mesa Tactical a few years back. Completely stand by the Mesa sidesadle since it's very durable, light weight, retains shells well, and just overall a great product. More recently the velcro cards became more popular and I have to admit if I was building out a shotgun now I'd probably go that route. At time point thought I've just put a lot of money and time into this setup, so I'm letting it marinate in the safe for a while before coming back and making any changes.

    • @UnprofessionalOutdoors
      @UnprofessionalOutdoors  Рік тому +1

      The barrel on a 590A1 is heavy walled, so it would have to take a lot of force to warp that barrel. If that kind of force was being exerted on an attached sling, I think a sling would rip or the mount would break before anything happened to the barrel.

    What a great setup!!! Quick question we’re exactly did you get that optic from? I have been everywhere trying to find that exact one!

      Thank you! The ghost ring sight came on the shotgun when I purchased it. Mossberg does sell a kit, but it looks like you'd need a gunsmith (or some skills) to install since it involves some drilling and welding.

      This is old but I’m pretty sure they’re XS brand. They make the ghost ring sights on my factory A1 rail. His are a slightly different hooded version but I’m pretty sure they’re XS too. I could be wrong.

    Which type swivel for the butt stock? Type 1 or type 2?

    • @UnprofessionalOutdoors
      @UnprofessionalOutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      It’s a type 1, but I wish I went with a type 2 so I had the option to attach to either side for not a lot more.

      If you want to have the option of either side you have to get type 1 and type 2. Magpul nickel and dime-ing at it's finest.

      Those were installed when I bought the gun. Looks like Mossberg sells a kit, but they’re out of stock.

      Thanks. I think you’d want to use the one Magpul sells for the 500/590 and not the one for the 590A1.

      @@michaelbottjer3385 I think the differences for the mount are based on thickness of the barrel and not length. A1 is a lot heavier barrel.
